"We have nothing to go on, aside from not being Kagouti, as they aren't able to do this sort of damage..."

"But we do know that they are a monster. I think i'm going to go and get some fresh air before faint." Psyfalia said to Sinyail and Valentia.

"Erm.. M-Maybe the... man who was in the watch tower.. might.. k-know." Katien said looking at the man, before looking down at her toes.

Niralie covered her face with her hands, shaking. She'd seen death before, but not like this. Nothing like this. She leaned against the wall for a moment and took some steadying breaths, her eyes closed. When she opened them again, she noticed Llevana crouching down near the bodies. "What kind of injuries do they have?" she called to her, not very willing to get any closer.

Alindrel looked up at Katien.

"Who? Someone was here, and we're all blundering about like morons?"

"The guy.." Katien mumbled. "That.. said he was.. part of the Legion?"

Suran wiped the blade off on one of the poor fellows legs, studiously keeping herself from regarding the hunk of meat that lie before her as something that was once a Dunmer like her. The only way you survived as an adventurer, sometimes.

She glanced back at the group, and saw plenty of wide eyes. With the obvious exceptions of Vana's, scarlet and implacable as always.

"You kids alright?" She asked, not particularly caring that they weren't much younger than her, or certainly Llevana.

'I'm fine, I think,' Fornar said slowly, 'just out of interest, what Gods do you people worship? After all, it's in times like these when your gods will help you the most,'

Gaenidil wasn't really phased, he had seen worse, he'd seen a lot better as well. "It could be worse, they could be zombies..." Gaenidil offered.

"That's true. It could be worse." Aenar agreed, looking into the room.

"I'm a good Temple-going Dunmer," Llela said with an ironic grin as she buffed the blood that still remained off of her sword with her shirt's cuff. "Vana doesn't follow the gods."

Suran is a queer city, it's true.

"Yeah, I'm the sinful and shallow type," Llevana quipped at herself. Her smirk only lasted a second however, as the situation was still mighty uncomfortable.

"You" she said, pointing at Raylis. She opened her mouth to throw another wave of angry accusations at him, but he cut her off.

"Look, I don't know anything about this. Why? Why would I set up the murder of the entire guard of Suran, and drive a horde of wild animals to attack the city. What motive could I possibly have?"

He looked at the others pleadingly.

"You are in league with the Thalmor, and this is a cunning ploy to instigate occupation!" Alindrel offered, looking proud of herself.

Llela gave it a quick initial wipe, she's working on the toughened stains.

"Methinks he doth protest too much." Llela said amusedly, stepping gingerly over a body and through the door, rejoining the others.

Katien looked down. "You could.. Be looking to weaken the town.. Or erm.. Like.. Kill it.." She mumbled quietly, only the few near her could hear her.

"Or drive everyone out and take their things." Aenar offered. "Such things happen occasionally to some villages in Skyrim." He explained,

"This seems like an awful lot of trouble, considering how little there is of value in Suran, and the kind of heat this kind of slaughter is gonna call down from Hlaalu." Llela surmised like the thief she had once been. Whatever reasons they had weren't for gold."

"Is there anyone else to blame, really?" Valentia asked, wanting to believe that it wasn't him.

"Well, we could try the dead guys," Alindrel offered, standing back up again, carefully stepping over her breakfast from earlier as she went and looked inside the guardhouse again.

"They wouldn't argue against it."

'If all the guards are dead, who will defend the town? He must be planning something bigger and no there is no-one to stop it,'

Llela half grinned, half grimaced. The kid had set up for the line, she couldn't resist.

"No-one except for us." she said, raising her chin, rather heroically.
