Sorry for the absence, guys. Life got in the way.
The streets of Suran

Ignoring the chatter of her new companions, Llevana leaned in close to Llela.

"Do you see that ship on the other side of the river?" she whispered. "My gut's telling me our time is up. We have to finish up what we're doing quickly and get out of Suran."

Streets of Suran is where i spent most of my days.
Psyfalia saw the two whispering and didn't say anything. She was more interested in speaking to her rediscovered class mates from uni as well as someone from the guild.

Llela

Llela nodded slowly. Vana was probably right, the ship was a little unusually big to be sailing as far upriver as Suran.

"Gotcha." She murmured in response. "Where we headed short-term, then?" She smirked, and added "Boss?"

Valentia followed along, completely oblivious to whatever was going on in light of re-discovering her guildmates. Perhaps this land wouldn't be so foreign after all.

Streets of Suran

Llevana smirked back, albeit weakly.

"I don't know. We might not even have time to get anywhere. Let's just see what the guard has to say about our lying friend here. Did you catch his last name? If it's true, I've just found a long-lost brother."

Psyfalia remained silent. Her mind was busy with trying to recall her time at the Arcane Uni and if she was close to her former classmates or not.

Streets of Suran

The feeling of dread that Llevana felt at the sight of the ship was swelling, and quickly.

"Right," she said aloud so that everyone could hear her. "We've dawdled enough. Time to have a word with the guards and get out of here!"

She started walking, leading them towards the guardhouse. Raylis was getting increasingly twitchy as they approached, as if he could feel that things were getting hotter than he wanted for him.

And for good reason. When no one asnwered her knocks, Llevana opened the door to a grueling sight: all the guards in the building were dead. Slit throats, crushed skulls, missing limbs. The variety of wounds was big, and they all pointed to the same thing: brutal and relentless murder. There were no Kagouti corpses in the room.

Llevana turned and looked at Raylis, who gulped audibly.

Near the manorhouse

Gudrun squinted at the happenings on the opposite shore. There was a large group of people. They were all moving about, like a flock of chicken in a pen. Except two: they stood there, gesturing wildly as if they were having an argument. Something in her gut told Gudrun that her job might be finished sooner than she thought. She smirked.

"Boys. We're going to town."

She looked at Arellius. "Follow at a distance," she mouthed, so that the rest of the band wouldn't notice. Then she started her march into Suran.

Sinyail looked around the dunmer in the doorway, and immediately regreted it, and turned to face the others behind him.

"You don't want to see what's happened... Blood and limbs all over the place."

Should I be waiting on Per? I'd hate to leave him behind in the story.
Arellius Afer III - Suran

Arellius gave no indication that he'd do what Gudrun wanted him to do other than to slow his pace, falling about 10 metres back from the rest of the crew. His hand rested on his Tanto, Gudrun wouldn't be making him do this if she had no reason to. He was expecting trouble.

Sure. Gudrun isn't in town yet, so Per has time to post. Everyone else in Suran also has one turn's time to say/do something before Llevana confronts Raylis. Whenever I cut off my own character's actions, it means that I'm giving you guys space to do or say something. Be a part of things! Say what your character thinks about the situation, or have them react or something. I do my best to help everyone be a part of things, but I'm not going to nudge you to post every couple of hours. I want this to be player-driven.

"Well... Uh... I..." Alindrel mumbled back and forth to herself for a few seconds before quite simply squatting down and emptying her breakfast out onto the ground.

"I'm having second thoughts about this," she said.

She is held on a leash, and is in sunlight. It's a bit dampened by Morrowind's constantly overcast sky, but she still won't be very comfortable. But sure, do whatever you want. If you do nothing I'll just not mention her until she's relevant.

Llela

Llela rubbed her eyes. "Oh, wonderful..." She muttered, drawing back from the doorway for a moment. She hesitated.

I need a sword. She reminded herself. She had been making do with just her bow since she had arrived in Morrowind, dammit if she wasn't in need of a blade. Especially considering the current circumstance.

She hesitantly entered the building, scanning the bloody floor for a sword she could grab, and get out.

Suran, Per

An increasingly eerie feeling festered in Per's stomach. He wearlily examined their surroundings as they walked, still preparing for a chance to slip away from the mercenaries. He had also noticed the large group, and the argument going on. Of course, the Dunmer had always seemed like an aggressive people to him, so he made no special note of it. He figured confrontations were happening frequently here, as they did in Skyrim.

Being near the tail of the group, he couldn't help but noticing Arellius falling behind. He remember the plan, and turned around to give the Imperial a quizzical look. Should I be following?

Valentia felt weak on her feet and pulled her hood down further, tugging on Psyfalia's clothes so she knew where she was going without having to see. "It... Why? Who?" was all she could mutter.

"They better have a good reason for it, whoever they are. This kind if needless death is sickening." Aenar said with disgust. He was keeping himself from vomiting, but his gagging was still evident.

Guardhouse, Suran

Someone remind me why I thought it was a good idea to take a bunch of lightweights on, Llevana thought as she observed the scene. It was bad, but come on. This was the 3rd Era. People should be used to the fact that life on Tamriel is brutal by now.

A few details she noticed upon closer insepction: While the doors (sans the door through which she had entered) were either open, smashed out of their frames, or broken, the windows were intact. The guards that were clad in armor hadn't been murdered as violently as the ones who were yet unprotected. There had been no fight here.

Llela's eyes halted on a [&@%!] sword. A bit heavier than what she usually preferred, but it caught her eye for some reason. The sword's hilt rested on the torso of one of the dead guards, the blade was on the floor, partially in contact with a very dark and thick looking pool of blood. The Dunmer reached to pick it up. To her surprise, it required a bit more force to lift than she had anticipated; it was glued to the thick pool of blood. She wrenched it loose, creating a disgustingly sucking sound. The blood had been there for quite a while; whatever had taken place here could possibly have happened even before the kagouti rampage.

I tried to create a sound effect for the "disgustingly sucking sound" but my aural capacities haven't reached the level yet, sadly.
