Ophelia is the water dragon. A great breed of lizard for a pet in my opinion, super friendly. Requires a lot of attention though, very sensitive to temperature and humidity levels.

You mean start? ;) We had a class pet in third grade - Moe, the bearded dragon. We used to all take turns taking care of him, and that sealed my love. He was so much fun, I've always loved them, although they are a bit too much for me.

I was pretty nervous introducing Ophelia to Max but Max is very friendly around small animals. I'm really happy that I can let Ophelia out of the tank to wander without worrying about her.

Gosh, I spent forever working on some really long post only to have my browser crash. Let's see what I can remember...

Fish:
Spoiler:
I've been keeping fish for longer than I can remember. I've had Goldfish (probably over 20 in my 18 years, though I haven't kept any recently), Algae Eaters (I've got a Golden one now, but I don't really like it), one Upside Down Catfish, some Bronze Corydoras Catfish (current; if and when they decide to spawn, I collect the eggs and raise them), some Dalmation Mollies, more Guppies than I'd care to count (two tanks full; I breed them), Glow-Light Tetras (had those a few years ago, they're dead now), Neon Tetras (my dad bought them, none lasted more than a week), Buenos Aires Tetras (current, I've got 10 of them and they're 3-4 inches long each), some Zebra Danios, two Crayfish, one Crab, some Minnows, and four Betas (over two years).

I think that was all of them... Pictures?

Bronze Cory Catfish
Some Guppies being hand fed (or fed hands, either way).
The Fry Tank... Two years ago.
One Crayfish
Beta #1, totally EVIL!
Beta #2, he was a nice boy.
Beta #3 and Beta #4 both look like this. This is Beta #3, about as EVIL as Beta #1.

Yeah, I think that covers the fish.
Cat:
Spoiler:
His name is Spazz. He's black, probably 12-13 years old now, lazy as heck. Got his name when he was a kitten. My brother found him in a barn with no sign of his mother anywhere. He and his friends grabbed all the kittens and my brother brought the black one home. He could have fit into the palm of a person's hand, but boy, that little kitten was spittin' and hissin' with all he had. He had (and still has) some serious spunk.

My grandfather nearly sat on him once and apparently got his butt clawed by one angry kitten. He came to my mom holding this little hissing kitten in the palm of his hand and asked, "What is this?"

He's still a Spazz. Sometimes he acts like he loves me, sometimes he acts like he absolutely hates my guts (and the scars running from my hands to my chest can vouch for that). But he's my big ol' cat. Everybody who's seen him goes, "That's one big cat." Yeah, and he's wild at heart, I'll tell you that.

Kitty in Christmas collar. He hates that thing.
Kitty is lazy.
Paw up, eyes half closed... Time for a nap!
Dog:
Spoiler:
And this is where things get sad. I dunno if I'll be able to type this out without crying again.

Up until February 25th, 2011, I had a dog. Her name was Duchess, and I have absolutely no idea what breed she was (she was mixed, but the Border Collie in her was evident). She was 12/13 years old when she died (I'm assuming heart failure, considering how much she was struggling to breathe the night she died). I can remember when I went to the basement to put the cat in his room that night that her eyes weren't happy like they usually were. They were sad and pained. I knew she wasn't going to last until morning.

I got up the next morning to the sound of movement in the living room. My mom was scrubbing off the couch in the living room, and when I approached her, she said "Duchess died." I was a wreck for that whole day (which, unfortunately, was a school day). For my entire Grade 12 year, I missed seeing that happy tail-wagging black and white dog waiting at the back door for me to let her in. I still do, even now that it's been more than a year and I've since graduated.

I always played games with that dog; tossing her toy around the house, hiding treats in the living room and making her hunt them down. It was fun to watch the dog and the cat fight (they never hurt each other). Heck, I even miss those high-pitched stinky dog farts (though the cat can send up a fair stink of his own).

RIP Duchess
Always eating...
Camera Shy
I've also cared for Budgies (one was a blue one named Sky, and the other was a white one named Snow White) and a Hedgehog (who was missing an eye and insisted upon peeing on me), but considering I didn't own them, I don't really count them as my pets.

Excuse me?

No, he just has a talent for running into things. Especially windows when there's a bird outside.

Edit:
More pictures. More recent ones of the cat, my fourth Beta, and the Tetras.

Just a bit. He has tried that before.
Along with attempting to eat my feet. I cannot go near Spazz when I wear lotion; when I do, he attacks me.

I should probably post this here too, just because.

Today we lost the best dog in the universe: Quincy McGiggles Westby. He was the best thing that ever happened to our family. He filled our lives with joy, and helped us through difficult times. Even in his final hour of life, he was perfect. So goodbye, "baby", "dear", "bunny rabbit", "rat", and "fawn". We'll always miss you, and you'll always be in our hearts.

From the very bottom of our hearts,
Graham, Jackie, and Eddie Westby (aka small human, medium human, and big human)

My mom and brother left me alone at my house, while they went to Reno. I, knowing that Quincy was always so obedient and perfect, decided that it would be okay to take him for a walk and meet up with my friends, without his lead. There we were, walking down the street, when I saw a dog 3x Quincy's size on the sidewalk. "Nah, he'll be okay." went through my head. They were very interested in each other, and then the other dog started to look at him very closely, and Quincy ran backwards, not seeing the car behind him, perfectly lining up with his tiny body.

And then it happened, those wheels going over him, me screaming and running to his body, picking him up, eyes rolled back in his head and body limp as a blanket. I laid him down, blood all over my arms, and yelled "Call 911!!" and "What do we do?!" as my eyes twitched, and my arms felt suddenly pained from the stress. A woman yelled from across the street the number for animal control, and I told my friend to dial it immediately. They arrived maybe 15 minutes later.

It was like a bad dream. I had no chance of saving him, he was killed on impact. Even in his final hour, it was not disobedience or even a random outburst that killed him, it was just a thing, and things happen.

What really continues to bother me is that the car never stopped.

So we have 3 days to decide what to do with the body. We're thinking that we're going to make a shrine for him in our backyard, to always remember him by.

Sorry if that was overly mushy, or dramatic, I think it's probably a good thing to describe in detail how it happened, in order to get better.

Thank you all for your kind words.
