Re: Favourite Race
For pure role-playing purposes, Dunmer, due to their even skill-point-distribution (which also means that they make excellent Spellswords, which is one of my favourite classes to play as!). They're also one of my favourite races overall in TES, lore-wise, 'cause of their rebellious nature and stuck-up personalities, as well as the aforementioned fact that there are no finer Warrior-Mages in all of Tamriel. However, I like pretty much all of the NPC races in Morrowind, as they're often quite witty.
Currently Playing: Arena (CD Version 1.07)
Current Character: Ka'dar Namarri, Male Khajiit Thief

Re: Favourite Race
Dunmer by a slight advantage over Redguards. They are overall the most versatile race of The Elder Scrolls games, and maybe a bit OP too. For someone like me, who doesn't like having to stick to only one class, I think Dunmer are perfect (especially with the Mage-Warrior mix I usually use).

High Elf / Altmer
Immensely challenging Race at Maximum Difficulty that offers a variety of roleplay avenues because of their proclivity for Elegance, Magic, Knowledge and Alchemy.
They can be Aristocrats, Nobles, Warlocks, Spellswords, Alchemists, Scholars, Artifact Collectors and even explore more sinisters routes like Necromancy and Vampirism.
Add to that their rich and ancestral history along with their religious pantheon and the fact they can live for hundreds of years and you have all the room in the world to create an amazing story for your character.

Re: Favourite Race
Nords, enough that I just made a brief overview of then on this very forum :p.
Thematically, they are the closest you will ever get to plaiyng as a good old-fashioned viking. Mechanically, they are incredibly good meele fighters, and I feel some people underestimate the potential of female Nords as Battlemages or Spellswords. 50 Willpower actually means that you have to worry much less about spell failure early on, though admittedly a Nordic spellsword tends to be much more on the side of "sword" rather then "spell", especially later on.
