"I can talk to them," Nancy said. "I don't know if they would be nice to us since we blew up the portal though." She decided to follow Jim.

Sam didn't take his usual spot in the co-pilots seat, instead sitting in the back where he had on the flight to Russia. Resting the BAR on his lap.

He watched mittens a moment, wondering exactly where Jim and Nancy might've gotten to. He'd liked the pair though he never would've admitted. Both were clueless but he'd held a certain respect for them. Especially Nancy, she did well for a woman. Real pity they'd died.

"Maybe all of them aren't hostile?" Jim speculated. "If we can find some that are away from the base perhaps we could even make a home here." He added doubtfully.

Nancy nodded. "Let's find out, I guess," she said. "What else can we do?"

Jim squeezed Nancy's hand as he led her through the fence.

The couple emerged in the wilderness of an alien world.
----
Once all of the PDA members got on, Alexi closed the VTOL. He sat down in the co-pilot seat with Mittens on his lap. The siblings strapped in. Catherine started up the VTOL and began to take off. Out the window the group could see the last of the base being sucked through the portal and the portal close. The VTOL flew off, starting the long journey home.
Epilogue
The world had forever changed. On New year's Eve the remaining aliens surrendered. In 1960 the people of the Soviet Union rose up to overthrow the quisling government. It was replaced with a democracy. The cold war came to an end and the people of earth became united to defend their home from a common threat. The PDA were declared heroes and before long the organisation grew larger and larger. With the technology scavenged they now were more than ready to do battle if the council ever returned. Even now people everywhere watch the skies, waiting for the war that could one day come.

Kathleen Weatherby
She didn't join the team on the final mission. Instead she simply returned home to her old life.

Sal “Skinny Sal” Provenzano
He left the PDA without a word. Afterwards he dropped off the map. If he returned to his old life or not is unknown.

Brendan 'Chop' Keogh
Murdered a kitten. Was mourned by none.

Jonathan Kune
Once Anders recovered he returned to the PDA where he continued to serve with distinction.

Anders
After a couple of months Anders was fully recovered and more in charge of her new abilities. She returned to the reestablished PDA North America as the chief psionics mentor.

Catherine and Alexi Aristov
They didn't stay in America for long. After the fall of the Soviet Union the pair played an integral role in establishing PDA Russia. They became the joint heads of the branch.

Mittens
Alexi adopted Mittens. Mittens didn't like Alexi as much as he did Nancy but stuck with him. He became an important member of PDA Russia, well in Alexi's eyes anyway. In truth he became like the team mascot over there. Still there were few who didn't like the little guy.

Thanks to everyone for joining and sticking with it. Hope you liked it. You can go ahead and put up the epilogue for your character now.

Also let me know if I forgot the epilogue for an important NPC that is still alive. I don't think I did but still.

Thanks Kerr that was a great RP (even if I missed a quarter or so of it and did virtually nothing during the last mission) and the first I've ever finished.

And yes I had this prepared already.
What happened during Sam's absence (concise):
After the near death incident at the fisheries during which Sam took a shotgun round to the head, Sam made an attempt to reevaluate his life. Alone without any family that he still spoke to or anyone to call friend he suddenly realised how truly pitiful his life had become. Realising that there was more important things in life than saving the world he resigned immediately upon returning to base citing the group full of idiots he'd been placed in as the reason.

Sam then.quickly made his way to New York to meet his son, who although was surprised by his father's sudden appearance after all those years, allowed his father in. They spoke a while before Sam spotted pictures of both his son and a black woman together on what looked to be their wedding day. Sam's son revealed he had married a black woman and even fathered a child and Sam, royally [&@%!], called his son a disgrace (and a few other choice names) and stormed out of the apartment.

He then returned to PDA base and was in Russia within 24 hours.
Sam - Epilogue:
Sam left the PDA and returned to Cadillac, Michigan not soon after returning to America deciding he had become to old life as a soldier. He returned to his old job as the high schools janitor and the towns general handyman never exactly filling in anyone on the exact details of where he'd been during his few days absence from town. He kept the Carbine, which although he had only ever used once, served as a momento of his time with the PDA and a reminder of Jim.

It was early 1960 when he finally worked up the courage to call his son. His son who had decided to behind his back marry a black woman, Mary-Lou Parker. Sam didn't exactly agree with the union but for the sake of wanting to get back into his son's life again he decided to work past it. He finally spoke to his son in person during the month of May in 1960 and after that turned out to be a success they continued to meet up. It was on the fifth of their meetings that Sam finally got a chance to meet both Mary-Lou and his grandson, James.

Surprisingly, Sam got on well with both his black daughter-in-law and grandson and quickly realised that colour didn't define who they were. In 1961 he joined the NAACP an organisation that his son had been part of for over five years. He spent a lot if his spare time campaigning for equal rights for African-Americans (who were now members of his family) and was as delighted as his son was when the Civil Rights Act was passed in 1964 and the second Civil Rights Act was passed in 1968.

Sam died on the 24th of June 1985 aged 73. At the time of his death he was still strongly Anti-Communist, Anti-Abortion, Anti-Gay Rights, Anti-Gun Control, Anti-Canada and Pro-America.

Thanks a lot Kerr, it was a lot of fun. My first roleplay here, start and finish. Given how things ended I'm unsure about an epilogue for the moment. Willing to defer to Musicman since I'm pretty sure Jim and Nancy are stuck with each other unless something untimely happens.

I recommend you talk about it together and make one epilogue for both characters.

Thanks Kerr, it's been a ride. Even if I probably should have developed Sid more, it was still a lot of fun. :)
Sid Parker
Upon arriving back in North America, Sid helped to rebuild and reestablish the PDA base there, particularly the medical section. Once the facilities had been returned to their full strength, he took leave from the PDA and returned to his job as an ordinary hospital doctor. He settled back down in Hamilton, where he met a nice woman named Denise Richardson. They were married and had four children: Russell, Victoria, Miranda, and Diane.

Sid never really left the PDA, though; often, during any time off from work, he would visit the North American base and help out in the medical department in any way he could. Eventually his kids moved out and he started to be getting on in years, so at age 68 Sid retired from the hospital and relocated along with his wife to work at the PDA base permanently. He was awarded the position of chief medical adviser, and so advised medics chiefly for the rest of his life.

He finally called it a life at the age of 83 in April 2013. He was satisfied that he had spent his time doing what he loved most: helping to save the lives of others.
