They Came From Beyond The Stars!

Sid and the Russians were climbing the stairs. They could still feel the portal tug on them and the rest of the base.

Jim and Nancy reached the blast doors between the portal room and the stairs. The alien ship had just been dragged into the growing portal. Nancy stumbled as she ran and could certainly feel herself being dragged in. Jim could feel her being pulled away from him. Jim felt as if he was the only thing stopping her from being dragged away. Due to the power of the portal they were moving slower than they would hope.

Hidden:

Sam isn't feeling any tug of the portal is he? He won't be sticking around if he is.

Jim grabbed on to Nancy more firmly and tried to carry her towards the stairs.

Nancy screamed as she felt herself being pulled toward the portal. She held onto Jim's arms and tried to push herself and him forward.

[Kerr]

Jim just couldn't hold on despite his efforts. However Nancy managed to push him towards the bottom of the stairs. Because of her, Jim could still escape but he could feel the portal pulling on him as it continued to grow. Nancy was pulled closer and closer to the portal as she began to lift into the air. Nancy was dragged through the still growing portal. Jim could feel the portal pulling on him still, he knew that if he did nothing he would be dragged through to the other side just like Nancy.

Nancy emerged on another world. She saw junk that had been dragged through the portal and knew there was more to come. The gate had been destroyed on this side too but there was no passing through the portal from this side, only things coming through from the other. It was likely to swallow up the whole base and deposit it on this alien world. Nancy knew now that she was trapped.

Sid and the Russians reached the hangar. The Russians entered the vents and began to crawl towards the exit. "Go, go, go!" shouted Alexi. Nic could hear the Russian shouting.

Hidden:

I wonder what Jim will do. Weill he try to escape or will he go through the portal to be with Nancy?

Jim jumped towards the portal after Nancy. He didn't know if she had survived going through the collapsing portal but if she did he couldn't possibly allow her to be in an alien world all alone.

Nancy began to cry at the situation she found herself in. Save yourself! she tried to send to Jim

[Kerr]

Jim emerged on the other side of the portal as he got Nancy's message. They may be on a dangerous alien world, but they were together. At least that was something.

Sam turned to face the vent entrance when he heard the sound of hurried crawling. He expected it to be Jim and the crew but he raised his carbine anyway. Better safe than sorry.

"JIM!!" Nancy cried as she saw him come through the portal. She rushed to him and wrapped her arms around him. "Oh God, why did you follow me? You stupid, wonderful man. I love you." she kissed him.

Jim put his arms around Nancy and kissed her as well, elated to see she was safe. Breaking the kiss he said. "I love you too. I couldn't possibly leave you behind if there was a chance you survived going through the portal."

[Kerr]

Alexi emerged first followed quickly by his sister. They put their hands up. "We need have to go." said Alexi. "The base is collapsing."

Those on another world could see the greys were running towards the military complex. It would probably be a good idea to move before guards came or the entire base was sent through the portal on top of them.

Not waiting for any more words, Jim let go of Nancy, took her hand and started to run away from the collapsing portal.

Sam lowered the carbine. "Okay." He replied, feeling slightly useless though consoling himself with the fact that he would've only [&@%!] the mission up anyway with his heaven armour.

He paused a moment, peering back down the vent system before speaking again. "Where's Jim, Nancy?" He asked.

Nancy followed Jim's lead.

They couple on the other world managed to reach a safe distance.

Sid managed to reach the surface too. "I don't know." said Catherine. "I think they're still behind us, they may be gone. We can't wait. This whole base is going to be sucked through. We have to get to your aircraft."

Sam remained silent a moment before giving a curt nod. "They were good soldiers." He muttered before looking again to the Russians. Not exactly happy with bringing them along. "Either of you know how to fly the VTOL?"

Once he was sure they were a safe distance Jim stopped running and looked around at their surroundings.

Nancy huddled close to Jim for protection.

The Russians began heading towards the VTOL. "We can fly anything." said Catherine. "Except one of those alien saucer ships." added Alexi. Catherine nodded in agreement.

Jim saw a fence behind him with a gap in it. It was the way out of the military base and into the wilderness.

Sam nodded before begining to move in the direction the VTOL was in. Switching to his BAR as he moved. He wouldn't need to be staying quiet anymore.

Sid followed the Russians and sam towards the VTOL. "Even if they did get sucked into the portal, they might still be alive," he said on the way.

"Although, I don't suppose we could find a way to ever rescue them," he added glumly.

Jim looked at the fence for a moment and wondered if they would be safer in the wilds of an alien world or as prisoners. He considered the grey's response to idea of asylum from it's slave masters and considered that their enemy may be much less merciful than many on Earth might be. He pointed out the gap to Nancy and started to walk towards it.

"I suppose they could be alive. But there is nothing we can do if they are." said Alexi. "I don't know if them being alive is better or worse." commented Catherine.

The Earth group reached the VTOL. Alexi pressed the button to open the door. As the ramp lowered he saw Mittens sitting there on one of the crates. He jumped down and began to walk around on the floor. "It's okay little one." said Alexi to the kitten as he picked him up. Catherine headed to the cockpit. "All aboard! Direct flight to America." she shouted.

Sid took his seat in the VTOL, strapping himself in for the ride once more. He wished he could have saved Jim and Nancy, even though he knew that, logically, there was nothing he could have done in his situation.
