I'm also thinking of moving to Great Britain or the USA (I currently live in Europe), maybe even New York City or Washington D.C. (Fallout 3 ftw!).
Any reasons why I should move to the USA?

I think I prefer the USA (even though Dogmantra lives in England
). Don't really like the weather in GB.

Move to Ethiopia.
The weather in New York and Washington isn't all that different from the UK.

England's laws suck. US FTW! Chicago would be a good place to move to.

Well, NYC and Washington D.C. have similar climates, but DC is usually a little bit warmer (I live near NYC and have been to DC quite a few times).
For example: today, NYC was at 75 degrees and DC was around 80.
Anyway, if you want my opinion: go for UK.

I'm also unbiased and say UK.
I'd say go to the US on holidays though, it's what I'll do.

You don't want to be a rozzer in the UK though. They have no power or presence at all because they all have to wear luminous jackets and drive Volvo diesels, and fill in 18 health and safety forms before they're allowed to apprehend a criminal who has just broken into a shop to steal booze, fags and mags then shot the owner in the face with a massive gun.
Bring back good old-fashioned police brutality, that's what I say...
And, of course, if you move to the UK you will also have the pleasure of being able to come to Brighton Folk on the last Monday of every month at the Brunswick on Holland Road, just off Palmiera Square, which yours truly has a vague executive role in running (i.e. I sort out the soundcheck and try to chat up ukulele players when the other half of my band, who runs the night, is running late, which is every time we ever play a gig)
I should also point out that it's 50 minutes on the train from London Victoria to Brighton (if you get the right train, the one that goes London > Clapham > Brighton, not the one that stops at every stupid little town along the way) and then a 10-minute bus journey to the Brunswick.
That's Brighton Folk at the Brunswick, on the last Monday of every month.

I would like to point out that unlike the US, in the UK a man can be charged for punching another man who was about to rob a store with a gun.The Raven wrote:FIX'D.randomfrog wrote:USA's laws suck. England FTW! Bury St Edmunds would be a good place to move to.

that's just strictly following the law.he technically assaulted a man before he technically did anything.that's going to be followed to some extent in both placesDark Lord wrote:I would like to point out that unlike the US, in the UK a man can be charged for punching another man who was about to rob a store with a gun.The Raven wrote:FIX'D.randomfrog wrote:USA's laws suck. I would like to point out that in the UESP, unlike in the UK, threads can be locked for straying too far towards politics (which includes discussion of laws)Dark Lord wrote:I would like to point out that unlike the US, in the UK a man can be charged for punching another man who was about to rob a store with a gun.The Raven wrote:FIX'D.randomfrog wrote:USA's laws suck. Either way if your from Europe, won't you find it easier to adjust in the UK rather than in the USA?

My aura is picking up negative vibrations.
I'm unbiased in a detached neigbour-ey kinda way and I say a Baltic country is best. They're nice and clean.

I'm semi-convinced that my wrist is broken. Well, fractured anyway. I can do simple things like play my games (thank Sithis...) but it's completely and mind numbingly painful if I bend it too much or put any real pressure on it. In fact, typing this and one other message and using the mouse is making it really really hurt and I'm gonna have to go.

Move to France and join the French Foreign Legion. I'd love to try that, but i'm way to much of a chicken unfortunately and also terrible at learning new languages.
Haven't been in any of the others though. The US seems more diverse to me though, but I've always wanted to go to the UK. Tough...
