Actually, they are correct. The "official" font isn't even the one used in-game. The font commonly used is actually a fan-made font. Who knows why the did that. Anyway, the one that has the entire alphabet is actually based 100% on signs from Morrowind. It's still fanmade, but it was made by using the CS and actually tracing every single letter one by one. So, while not "official," neither is the official version, but it is more accurate. The reason some letters are backwards is actually because in every instance in the game, those letters are backwards. It's assumed it's because the daedric used in Vvardenfell is just a local "dialect" if you will.Mrs T wrote:Hmm, Vargon, I know it's lore in-correct but there is Y and X in the Daedric alphabet.

Some interesting and completely awesome stuff happened yesterday and today:
I burned through 8 inches of steel with a fair amount of thermite.
I blew up a giant brick of clay.
And blew a hole through a large amount of steel as well.
Planned our trip to see the Tiger I in England.
They might have found a usable Tiger engine, and a few more parts.

The Dresden Files, by Jim Butcher
It's a series about a wizard in Chicago. Quite good and quite funny. There are 10 books in the series, and another's coming out early 2009. No end in sight, as he has up to 18 planned. PS: IGNORE THE TV SHOW
Codex Alera, also by Jim Butcher
The fifth book will be out in about 2 months. The concept came from a bet that Jim couldn't make a good fantasy story by combining pokemon and the legend of the lost Roman legion. Well, he did. They're quite good. There are supposed to be 6 total. The tone is much more serious than Dresden, but they're good.

Won't be of any help I'm afraid, I generally refuse to buy a book unless there's a spaceship on the cover or if it's written by a Top Gear presenter.codex wrote:

However, I am currently reading "To Air Is Human" by Bjorn Turoque about one man's mission to become the world's greatest air guitarist and it's extremely entertaining.

What type of offroading?
I have two 4x4s. My manly truck is a '78 Ford 150 4x4. That truck will pull the gates off of hell.
The other truck is less manly but still powerful is a '93 Chevy 1500 4x4. Thats my daily driver. Well it was but i sorta destroyed my transmission because i was, well, getting rid of the carbon deposits in my motor if you know what i mean. So its out of commission until i save up the money for a new transmission.
Both are stick shift because a manly man drives a stick shift, works better in the mud too.

Thanks everyone for their literary suggestions!
Leroy, my specs aren't much to talk about. It's a 1 liter engine, once upon a time producing 45 hp. Though it gets further into the woods than almost anything else. I'm gonna weld a locker in the rear diff, and rebuild my transfer case to 4.16:1 ratio (86% lower than normal). Roll cage made of 2" seamless tubes, and I recently bought new BF Goodrich 235/75/15 tires. Not huge, but they fit perfectly on that car. Note that the car is for offroad use only.

By that you mean youre going to weld the gears? I almost did that to my ford but decided against it. What are the diff gears in that? Do you have a front axle? Is this rig on the road at all? When it comes to cars heres my old ride. This was the type of car where when you floored it the speedometer and tach went one way, and the fuel gauge went the other. It hurts my heart to this day that i dont own it and wont own one like it for a long time.

Oh, and that pic was for my buddies photo assignment, im not one to take black and white pictures of myself. Also, my hair is extremely frizzy because i literally woke up minutes ago to him knocking on my door. He then handed me the 32oz and said he needed me for said assignment. Thats the pic before he edited it, the edited one came out much better you can actually see my face in it. The guitar is no longer with us either.

Exactly. BMW may make good cars but every single person who drives one is a total moron. There isn't a single exception. They're either driven by irate middle-aged regional sales managers with those stupid Bluetooth earpieces who think it's the law that they have to drive 40mph faster than anyone else and sit 1/18th of an inch off the rear bumper of the car in front of them, or they're driven by, for want of a better word, cocks.jedimario wrote:Well sir, BMW makes some of the finest automobiles in the world, and I will glady feed you dust when I own one someday.r wrote:I'm glad to see there are no BMW drivers here, I hate them more than any other group of people in the world.
I know that's not helping, but it's true
It always used to amaze me that when I was on the way home from work, driving down a desolate stretch of dual carriageway in rural Suffolk at gone 1am at, er, some miles per hour, I could blink and when I opened my eyes again there'd be a 5 Series nudging my rear bumper and flashing his lights at me to get me to pull over and let him past. The latter, IMO, is one of the rudest things in the world and if I ever meet anyone who does it I will gladly set them on fire.
And don't get me started on the X5 which is the Chelseaest of all Chelsea tractors and is always driven by those annoying people who drive at 40 whatever the limit is.
If you want a fast, well-built German car buy a Mercedes. If you want a fast, well-built car to put your golf bats in buy a Jaguar. If you want a slightly faster car buy a Lotus. If your job title is Regional Sales Manager (Coventry) buy either of the above or anything else but please do not buy a BMW.

Wow, why don't I just rename the thread to "Cars, Cars, and more Cars! Plus some BMW haters."
I don't mind, though; it's actually quite interesting.
More things about someone that may or may not be me:
I own two cats (Did I already say that one?) One is a boy, named Tibbs (after Sgt. Tibbs in 101 Dalmatians, you can blame my brother for that) and the impish, ornery, charming, gray and white puffball of a girl is named Anna; I named her. She gets into a lot of trouble and has made a habit of challenging authority. She always loses.
Tibbs. He is a coward, but will roll all over the place when he is getting pet, and will cry if he isn't. He's adorable. He also thinks he is a bird on the grounds that he can chirp
Anna. She is the gray and white pest that streaks around our home and can often be found weaving in and out of our legs. She'll turn on the charm for anything that she wants and gets it 25% of the time. I don't know why she keeps trying. She loves the top of the computer, and if you aren't paying attention to her while she's there, she wags her tail in the front of the screen. I've gotten into the habit of patting her butt when she does this just to warn her that she won't get everything she wants.
Anna and Tibbs. Believe it or not, they are actually brother and sister. They were born on November 11th 2005 and we adopted them on January 12th 2006. They were so tiny; I kinda miss those days, but I'm glad that we have had them for as long as we have. This was taken around the time that she got sick with the same unknown disease that had infected our previous cat, Smokey, for years, probably since the time that we moved to this house. He had died four days earlier on January 8th and it shook us up so much that we immediately started looking for compensation. We have a blown up picture of Smokey in the hallway leading to my parents' room and I still tear up when I walk by it. We loved that cat, but we're glad to have these two, also. After Anna got sick we never let the two of them outside again.
We actually found another kitten outside my grandmother's house and nursed it for about 4 hours before bringing it home for a little while longer, until my cousin, who is really good with animals and should be a vet, came and took her. When we brought the black cat home, though, our animals dissented like Connecticut in the Constitutional Convention at the suggestion of both houses' of Congress number of votes being determined by population. "They probably don't even know what a cat is." - Father of Wolf
Our family would do almost anything for animals as long as it doesn't end up in the hundreds of dollars, and caring for them often brings out the best in each of my family members, individually. It's the only circumstance that I've ever seen my brother act completely selfless. Our love for animals is one of the main reasons I became a vegetarian.
I also have a story about our cat before Smokey, Dot, that happened around Halloween; she wasn't really our cat, but she loved us more than she loved her owners. One Halloween, about 6 years ago, we were dressed up and ready to go when Dot came abounding up the front porch. We let her in, as always. When we left, she went with us. This wasn't strange, as she liked to be with us, but what was strange was her actions every time me and my brother would go up a to house. Dot was the most independent and territorial cat we have ever had the pleasure of knowing. She was the evidence that cats actually do own their owners. We heard a noise outside our door one day and looked out to see a dog 3 times her size running away with its tail between its legs and her on the driveway staring firmly after it. She was boss in our neighborhood. So I guess it wasn't all too peculiar that, when we would go up and ring the doorbell, she would disappear in the bushes next to the door. It was one of the strangest things I'd ever seen an animal do, but one of the most convincing facts I have to argue that animals do love their owners. Or at least those that they own. We would walk away from the house and she would reappear from the bushes and walk over to the next a distance away from us, always staying close to the houses. We would go up and ring that doorbell and she would, once again, disappear in the bushes near the porch. She was also the most skilled hunting cat that I've ever seen. I have a term that I use frequently when describing her: "Apex of the apex". That animal was all walk and no talk; literally. She wouldn't warn you if you angered her; she would just attack. As much as that sounds awful, it was actually kind of amusing, as she would almost never draw claws against a member of my family. We turned down a street and instead of following us, she just stood there at the end of the sidewalk. That was the last street that we would hit that night, and somehow, I think she knew it. She was very intelligent. We saw her a few more times since then, but around Christmas that year, we noticed that she had gone missing. We've never seen her again. I know I loved Dot; I would often dream that she would jump out of a hiding place, something she loved to do, and everything would return to normal. Her absence led us to search for another cat, which eventually yielded Smokey, whom we got from our neighbor.
The first time Smokey entered our house, he ran to the couch, jumped up on one arm, crossed the couch on the headboard, and settled to sleep on the other arm. He was so little that he only took up 1/3 of it. My dad wanted to get rid of him, but the rest of the family wanted to keep him. So my mom, knowing my dad's weakness for animals, told him "You take him back, then. If you don't want him, you take him back." He got halfway through the yard before turning back and setting him down inside the house. After that we kept him, and he was ours and no one else's. Mom was his mom; when she was lying on the couch he would always go up on the backboard and snuggle comfortably into her hair. We loved that cat.
That's about all the information that I have to reveal for now. I do have a few mindless facts, but since I've apparently dedicated this entire post to our cats, then I think those should wait till later.
Au revoir.

So Wolf, you are a chick arnt you?
Some about me other than the fact that i am the god of all things automotive.
I am a decent poker player and an awesome pool player. I am a self-proclaimed genius, inventor, and philosopher. I dont really hate anything, but i have a strong dislike for corny commercials that are played over and over again.
I think conan o brian is hilarious. His fake british accent is awesome, it consists of "ello govna!" His constant shenanigans never cease to crack me up.
I also find south park to be the most genius piece of comedy ever, ever. It combines completely immature bathroom humor with current events and subtle underlying messages that go unnoticed by a lot of people. The creators use my philosophy, that being, instead of being one sided, its ok to stand in the middle and laugh at everybody. They articulate it better than that though, they say it in this interview on charlie rose http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VqtLudQtIGs
That video is an hour long but only half of it is the creators.

My dad is a big vehicle guy, although he is more into the, 60-ton, crush your car, shoot 120 mm cannons, 45 mph kind of vehicle. Those are my favorite kind too
.
Anyway, I love Seinfeld and Jerry Seinfeld in general. I like lots of old music from the Rolling Stones, to Elton John, to Billy Joel, my favorite being rock like Led Zeppelin or Metallica, anything like that.
My views on war and history are a lot different than most people, one of the only times I could be considered an 'optimist'. I have officially fallen in love with the MP5, PDW variant, there is something just, awesome about it.

I am commonly called emo at my school because I wear black, have a black and red checkered tie and a chain wallet.
Jocks, Preps, And all those other people who only care about themselves. I hate them.
When I'm not on the computer I'm either watching TV or playing video games.
I'm obsessed with fable and fable 2.
I treat my Xbox as a living person.
I sometimes think I'm legally insane.
I am on the dark side.
I have an unbiological brother. Not really. We just act like brothers.
I have my own computer. Not a PC
Me and my friend have an all time low in P.E for the mile run. 17 minuets and 12 seconds. (No I'm not fat. I just have asthma and can't run that well.
I tend to look away at writing then when I look back I see the weirdest part of the page.

Me and my friend have an all time low in P.E for the mile run. 17 minuets and 12 seconds. (No I'm not fat. I just have asthma and can't run that well.
I tend to look away at writing then when I look back I see the weirdest part of the page.
Well wrap me around your neck and call me a pedant.

I was kidding up there. Hence ther wrote:Exactly.
Anyway, I can't really explicitly disagree with any of this, but there are exceptions to every rule. I've seen plenty of BMW drivers that are nice, but there are a fair share of rude as well, as with any brand.
And about this whole "fast" thing...your fast may not necesarily be my fast. The 3 series has always been faster and all around a better car than the C-whatever (I think that's the comparable M-B) from a driving standpoint, and that's what I care about. Which is why I'm gonna own a stripped down Elise someday, if you can strip them down anymore from stock
