Personally, I think we've reached an RP OVERLOAD. There are over 10 active roleplays going on right now. That is crazy.

I suggest we stop making new roleplays for a bit until things calm down. Because eventually, people are going to have their hands full with too many RP's (like me ), and they'll start losing interest.

Yeah I agree. I'm in both of Matt's, my own and POMC'S, and there may even be another one on another forum.

I don't know if this idea is too regimental, but perhaps we could use the Guild of Roleplayers to work out a 'timetable' of RPs, also looking at future ideas.

There used to be a mod rule litmiting the number of active roleplays. That could come back into play once everything dies down.

I think we should give the users a change to organize this themselves. A rule is so absolute and gives people the feeling that it can't be talked about.

Well, it may be required. It's never been this wild. I'd say that there's probably 2-3 new RP's every month (on average). And with so many members joining these roleplays lately, the threads spin out of control quickly. I mean, I've gone to bed before and woken up to find 5 new pages had developed while I was sleeping. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. Active roleplays are great. But when you have 10 of them going on at the same time, eventually people lose track of what the hell's going on.

Too true, I've been in RPs which have grown over 10 pages in a night .

Often, it's because of OOC spoiler conversations, so perhaps instrumenting an RP GD could help?

If a limit were put on the number of active RP threads, then having a separate discussion thread for each one would be more practical than it is now.

Maybe a community understanding would work better than a rule. Perhaps we can use the Guild to discuss new proposals and plan them to an extent. We could probably live with one GD, although one per RP would also be nice.
