Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Yesterday I deleted and re-installed Oblivion because I can't install mods correctly. I just deleted it again and am trying to install it again. :\
I am bad at computers.
EDIT: And then, when that one re-installed, it didn't install correctly. Installing again...
I'm still bad at computers.

And on the eighth day, God created Thermodynamics, and it was good.
Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
Just planning my upcoming D&D venture. I managed to get a group together and I've been planning my story. It's pretty neat. Involves goblins and the afterlife and black slime. Also, probably, angels. Neat?
Anyway, I got a copy of 4th edition core books, as well as the second player's handbook and monster manual. Still gotta get dice and a few other supplies. I'm going all out and using maps and miniatures, by which I mean "sheets of graphing paper, LotR figures for PCs, and globs of clay for enemies" which will be interesting, I think, since I've never done that before.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I have discovered today that canned (potted, whatever) meat is the most disgusting food the in world. I ate it straight from the can. Whoever thought of the idea to put all the random bits of meat that can't go into hot dogs and grind them to a puree' deserves to be.. um... I can't even think of something bad enough... My throat actually refused to swallow it until I drank some water.

I agree. My mom tried to feed it to me a few times, but after the first I bluntly refused to ever touch it again.randomfrog wrote:I have discovered today that canned (potted, whatever) meat is the most disgusting food the in world. My Sunday so far sucks. Woke up in horrible mood so I yelled at my bf a bit. Felt better but now he's mad. Cat is whining in my ears because he insisted on having breakfast at 2AM (reason for abovementioned bad mood), and is now hungry again and attempting to get me to feed him. Plus I have to study today, while all I really want to do is finish my annual reading of The Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy.

I sang 'Bring It All Back Now' by S Club 7 on karaoke. Oh dear. At least there were other people involved though, but for a change drink wasn't.

Saw my fiance. Which was amazing. I've never been so happy. Ugh though, problems with living sixty five miles away... oh well. It was fun. Ah nerd couples, it's amazing. I proposed to her with a ring pop... but that's another story.

Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
I went for two interviews this morning. Brain the size of a planet and they have me interviewing to answer phones (+10 to those who recognise the reference). The first job sounds bloody awful, the guy has a first trial period during which he still looks for other candidates, then a second trial period, and only then will he decide whether or not he actually wants to employ you. Plus the job is kind of a lot more omplicated than what he's willing to pay for: he wants some graphic design, he advertised for office admin. The second job sounded okay though.

They are if you only know about one other person who's ever bothered to read through the trilogy of four. All those blank faces when I quote from it are dreadful. Truly dreadful.Tom10320 wrote:Oh, please. Marvin references shouldn't be +10, surely!Leilah wrote:+10 to those who recognise the reference
So my day so far: woke up with killer headache. Located my mother, some sympathy and some strong headache pills. Currently waiting for them to take effect, then later this morning, I have another interview.

If it makes you feel better, I own this. The image doesn't show it well, but it's got gold-edged paper, a ribbon book mark, soft leather-like cover. It's beautiful.Leilah wrote:They are if you only know about one other person who's ever bothered to read through the trilogy of four. All those blank faces when I quote from it are dreadful. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
That's a whole lot better than the ones I own. I don't have Mostly Harmless and I have the other four seperately. Got the first one from my dad and then located the others with the same covers (I need my books from the same series to have the same types of covers) from second-hand shops.Cactus wrote:If it makes you feel better, I own this. Re: The 'What happened to you today' thread
In some weird way I was glad to go back to work today after the Bank Holiday weekend. I thought it would be a nice cadence of my 8 months of unemployment, having 3 days off, but I actually got quite bored towards the end of it. Although most of Sunday was taken up by going to Kent for numerous reasons (I can report that new interchange where the A2 meets the M25 - the one that they spent 3 years building - is excellent and the slip roads have some great sweeping bends on them, but does the A2 really need 6 lanes in each direction?), by halfway through Monday afternoon I'd drank 85 cups of coffee, watched a TV program I'm not really that interested in in the form of Britain's Got Talent, and on three occasions had opened my Pocket Book Of Folk Songs on a random page and decided to learn the one that I opened it on.
Dear God, I think I might have grown up. That's a worrying thought.
