Speaking of languages...
Någon annan som förstår svenska?
Inte för att det är så relevant men det är ju alltid kul att skriva sådant som andra inte förstår, så om jag petar inte lite namn som Jeff och möjligtvis Weka här så kommer de nog allt undra vad jag skrivit
Mwehehe, I have the almighty letters ö ä and å on my keyboard

Saddly, as I work for SAAB (a US Military Office), I should be able to translate that. I do have a few notes of common technical terms though.
Although there is some similar words to German, which I haven't used in about 11 years. I used to be moderately fluent in speaking, and reading, just never got the writing down very well.

Helpful (I hope) tip for special characters...
I hope someone out there finds this useful.
I believe that you'll find that that is actually the Queen's English currently....ragged-gothic wrote:....Not that I’m the King’s English official spelling-and-usage-nazi or anything....
With your pretty-near photographic memory that you've mentioned?Vesna wrote:So how in the world will we memorize all these codes?

That depends on how you use the term. “The king’s English” is often used here as a generic term for the language as properly used, regardless of the sêx of the current monarch. “The queen’s English” is also used though, as well. It rather seems to depend on the personal style of the speaker. Since I have never lived at a time when there was a reigning king, I don’t know whether “the queen’s English” disappears entirely as an expression under that condition or not. I certainly hear both versions used now, though, when the expression is used at all.weka wrote:I believe that you'll find that that is actually the Queen's English currently....ragged-gothic wrote:....Not that I’m the King’s English official spelling-and-usage-nazi or anything....
P.S. as a note to whoever administers the boards, can the censorship be reduced in any way? The word “sêx” is a legitimate English word, and is not intrinsically prurient in any way. It seems to be rather puritanical to deny posters the use of such words in legitimate contexts, forcing us to resort to such transparent devices as adding spurious accents to make our sentences clear. Thanks.
I presume by "here" you mean the UK? That's also where I live and I've pretty much never heard it called the King's English (I think once I have). As far as I know, like all other things that reference the monarch like that, it does change as the gender (which is the word I think you're looking for to avoid the censor filters) of the currently reigning monarch changes.
