Leyawiin is the second place I would want to live just as soon as the Countess is dead.
Chaos:(Standing on a box) IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!
Crystal: Whats with all the yelling?
Quincey: It's 2012, Kirby obssesed, and a TES MMO is real.
Chaos: WE WILL ALL SEE SLENDY TO NIGHT!
Crystal: Oh... What's a Kirby?
Quicey: Dont know.

Nicholasenj, that's after something happens, but it is a bustling port-town, no doubt about that. It's next to the sea!

I have that expansion, darn it, I know what I'm talking about; Anvil is hardly "bustling."

Before the expansion it's bustling though, that was my point. And I still think it's doing all right after the expansion...

Hm...

Imperial City is very nice, and relatively clean, however with all of the conflict between the Thieves Guild and the City Guard, I do not think I would be able to just sit back and relax in my later years.

Anvil is just...It just doesn't feel like home to me...and I'd assume a port city like that also recieves their fair share of pirates...There is also the fact that the King of Thieves in Cyrodiil lives there...but...oh well...it just isn't comfortable.

Kvatch seems like a nice city, perhaps similar to Cheydinhal, however seeing as it has been entirely RAZED twice...I wouldn't feel safe.

Skingrad is a beautiful city, however a bit too crowded. Walking through the city makes me feel a bit closterphobic. And the Count is a VAMPIRE!

Chorrol is a relatively perfect city. No hustle, no bustle...however that is exactly where it's fault is. It's simply a boring city.

Bruma seems very comfortable. The architecture is unique, the dwellings are cozy, there is a fair share of excitement, it seems, and I would feel particularly safe with the Emperor's Elite Guard living nearby.

Chedyinhal's problem is primarily the fact that it seems to be ridden with assassins and corrupted guards.

Bravil...do I even need to say?

Leyawiin always seemed like the "other" poor city to me. The houses look like their covered in mold, and the roofs appear to be crooked. Ah well...If it had Chorrol-Type Architecture it would be a beautiful city.

Over all, I'd have to say Bruma.

If you care about the safety of the city, then wouldn't your character be a good lil' boy and prevent it from being ransacked like he did in several quests?

And you can't say you're evil.

In Oblivion, I would probably like Bruma because I like the cold and everything, and there are cool mountain areas to explore. Ingame I prefer Bravil, but in real life it would be way too humid for me and all the skooma and criminal organizations (Thieves guild and DB) would keep me on edge.

In Morrowind I really like Vivec, but I don't think I would want to live anywhere in Morrowind if people were all "Speak quickly or go away, outlander!" all the time. Plus, in Vivec, I would get tired of the ordinators constantly threatening me. I like that northern town where the exiled Telvanni mage lives (can't remember his name).

Now we have to compare the quality of the people in Anvil v.s. those of Skingrad.

Anvil has lots of pirates, so Skingrad wins.

Either Anvil or Skingrad. Anvil reminds me of Hammerfell, and Skingrad seems as though it could withstand an attack by tens of thousands of Daedra.

As for the people...according to some people, everyone in town is friendly, save for Newheim the Portly.:P

Anvil & Skingrad make sense actually.

Anvil has the best quality house for the price.

Skingrad has the best overall house, plus you get the maid. It is also close to being centrally located in the map.

I like Anvil the best, since you can get a great house for a cheap price early on in the game. I usually only get one house, and it is Anvil. I sometimes also get the IC Shack, if the character I play is also in the Thieves Guild. I also like Anvil, since the City Quests are easy, and you get decent weapons for a starting character. I also do the first two FG Quests there.

The last character I have uses the IC House Mod, which is now my current favorite.

i'm surprised at the amount of votes for Anvil and Skingrad. i think they both look like hideous additions to bush gardens europe.
