Data's doing great - he hates riding in the car and sounds like a police siren all the way to the vet, but after that he does OK, and it doesn't look like he's in any pain from the operation (he spent this morning playing in the bath tub), plus he doesn't even have any stitches!

Hoshi, on the other hand, isn't taking it so well. When we brought Data home last night she growled and hissed like we'd brought home a brand new cat... I think she may have been hopeful that we'd finally seen the error of our ways and gotten rid of the squeaky newcomer, and that she was highly upset when we brought him back.

My father's dog Gordon loves going in the car, he barks and howls (he also farts) with joy the entire journey, really embarrassing when you puill up next to someone at traffic lights they just sit and stare at you like your some evil monster torturing a poor animal when in fact he is as happy as Larry.

For my own dogs, Lenin hates the car he starts puking and pooping as soon as you pull out of the drive, luckily the vets is only about a mile away so we can walk him there, as soon as he is out of the car he is fine. Amy dosen't mind the car, although she can't sit still.

I'm glad that Data's doing well! Seems that Hoshi never warmed up to him, then?

Lenin's behavior sounds to be repulsive- is such the result of an aversion to the drive itself or the inevitable arrival at the veterinary clinic?

That's a plus, of course- my own pets' vet offers treats each visit and so they too possess only adoration toward him.

Your pooch is so lovely, Frostmage! I can only imagine how warm his fur must be just following his lying in the sun as you'd mentioned is standard routine.

We have a 10y/o Akita named Penny. As a (former) therapy dog, she's extremely friendly with people, especially women and kids.

By the way, I second Oscar; that's my cat's name. I miss him dearly. Such a shame he is so old the vet recommended he stay put, but I'm thankful my older brother has accepted him into his home. (Even though he always teases me about it!) I think that, when I am in my next place, I will get a pet-friendly one and take an adult cat from the shelter, like I did with Oscar. He's been such a wonderful part of my life over the last 20 or so years, even when far away. When I go home and visit him, even though he's mostly blind and a little stiff now, he always comes and sits next to me like we haven't spent a day apart.

Awh. Now I feel all teary eyed. It's so funny, how we come to love our pets so much!

Orson

Also, Leyyuce, she started to accept him, and even seem to like him, but when we removed him for a day, it seems that she just totally decided that he must've gone away for good, and was so disappointed in us when we brought him back again... After this weekend, though, she seems a little less mad at us. A little.

More interesting trivia: He was a big fan of alcohol, AND olives. We had to hide the wastebasket whenever there'd be anything involving even rubbing alcohol. Crazy cat. Just looking for a dry martini.

Penny's a beauty, House, as are the puppies pictured above! She looks to be so very soft...

Hoshi seems a particularly sophisticated feline, Leilah.
