Maligus the Black

Maligus stopped and looked at the pair. Where do they go? What is it they do? Maligus wondered, looking for some kind of identity, something to attach himself too.
he began to lower himself, fading into the shadows once he reached the ground.

Erik dropped the dagger and fell to his knees and looked at his hands, shaking fearfully. "What.. What is wrong with me?" He asked.

"F-f-f-find h-h-him?" Shéq said in a very scared tone and started to shake from fear.

As the strange person descended, Grah tried to study it as much as possible. He deduced that the figure was a he, but that was about it, as the he soon disappeared, "We mean no harm." He said to the darkness around him.

"Harm?" Maligus laughed, coming from the darkness around Grah. "I do no think you or your friend are a danger, but that is beside the point. Is there something I may do for you?" Maligus asked.

"Well... I felt a strong surge of energy in the forest, and we are trying to identify its source." Calmly, Grah replied. But inside, he was kind of annoyed at the insult.

Slowly Maligus rose from the darkness, the very shadows contorting and forming into his black image. The rift energy that was coming from him was almost palpable. "I believe I may have been the cause of that." He said once his form was fully concentrated. He held his black staff in his left hand and looked at Grah. "I am sorry if I caused any trouble." He said simply as if he didn't actually care.

"No, it's alright. No harm was caused." Grah stated with a half smile and was about to leave. But then he realised something, and turned around back to Maligus, frowning, "But how can you emit such energy? You can sense it for miles." He inquired.

"Perhaps I am just more powerful than you." Maligus said simply looking around. "Or perhaps, you sensed the other one." Maligus said stepping out of the darkness into the moonlight.

"Other one?" Grah asked, trying to ignore all the insults.

"There was another, more powerful than I within the city." Maligus said looking in the direction of the city. "However, it is gone now." He said confidently. "If you would care to investigate, be warned, if there is something powerful enough to mask such a power, you would be wise to avoid it." Maligus said looking now directly at Grah. "Though unless you can hide your appearance you won't be able to enter the city easily." He said.

"And what are you planing to do about it? Does that other one have intentions of harm?" Grah inquired.

"What will I do? Nothing. Not unless there is a reason to. The other one is gone, as I said. I do not know his intentions, Lords of the Rift are not known for their predictability." Maligus said yawning. "Besides there is nothing to be done about it at the moment, as there is nothing to direct our energies towards."

A humming noise came deep down from Grah's throat, a usual sound that he did when he was thinking. He turned towards the direction of the city and then at Jackie. Whilst this matter was strange, he had no reason to investigate. Even if he found something, he could do nothing, "Alright, thank you for the information." With that, he headed back to the cave.

Maligus had nothing better to do so he followed. Even though he became one with the shadows, he couldn't hide his presence.
