Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Thanks for the links! Looks interesting, I'll have to think about getting it when it comes out. Good thing I'm on Xbox!
Start the groove.

This certainly looks interesting...although it's a bit disheartening to see that the next DLC may be out before PS3 even has Dawnguard...

LOL good stuff! I've been talking to a few PS3 owners who arent very happy with this at all, because of the dawnguard debacle! I can understand why they are [&@%!] off like. Like I said to them, I just hope bethesda try and make it up to them with some free content or something ya know? Good will and all that.but aye, I'm looking forward to this and my gf will LOVE it haha esp the adoption thing!
I'm really jealous of pc and their mods so it's nice that xbox (and hopefully ps3) can have something similar to house mods for once
A hero can be anyone, even a man doing some as simple and reassuring as putting a coat around a young boy's shoulders to let him know the world hadn't ended.

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
I've been saving for a new pc for ages just for TES and modding but everytime I get near what I need some more bills come in
haha
I've read somewhere recently that Beth are wanting to make the modding aspect more open to console players so maybe this is just the start? who knows?
*Edit* It's available for download from xboxlive 4th sept for 400 points

Well, I won't be getting it. I rarely even use player homes. Whenever I need to sleep in-game, I just make camp somewhere or sleep at an inn. But it is refreshing with a roleplaying-DLC instead of another action-DLC. It's nice to know that Bethesda haven't completely forgotten what roleplaying is. Although, this DLC is a knock-off of the mod Build your own Home.

True, buuuuutt console players (like me) can't access the mods that PC users are lucky to have available to them, so it's a welcome add on and for 400 points I will be getting it. I don't know, I played through the main game and completed it without the RP aspect, so since then I have been playing primerally in a RP mode so to speak. It'll add something different to the game as a whole imo. Which is welcome, and if it keeps my misus occupied and happy for a few days then it's well worth the wedge

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
No it's not. First off, a similar idea to something else is not a knock off. More importantly, they've shown interest in house building since Game Jam from February, about four months before that mod was released. Under this logic, Build Your Own Home is a rip-off of Bethesda's original idea. Not to say that this idea is original at all. Almost every game seems to be spiraling towards just becoming The Sims with increasingly elaborate settings. All this basically is is the basic home decorating quest with a few other tasks tacked on top of it.ClockworkCadaver wrote:Well, I won't be getting it. I rarely even use player homes. I hope there isn't too much responsibility involved. I hate to miss out on adventuring because I got to get the kids a present.

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Its a nice addition to the game and 5 Dollar/Euro isn't that much, hopefully you can build your home "nearly" everywhere and not only like 5-10 locations.

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Not a chance. I'm almost positive that there will be fixed locations for the houses. Being allowed to build anywhere in Skyrim would cause some serious problems, and I'm not even entirely sure how feasible it would be from a technical standpoint.Trelares wrote:Its a nice addition to the game and 5 Dollar/Euro isn't that much, hopefully you can build your home "nearly" everywhere and not only like 5-10 locations.

I'll be making my own little town! I'll get as many NPC's and animals as possible!
I hope they let you build in Winterhold. It's my favourite Hold.

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Okay i dont want a family of nords, bretons, imperials or redguards running around my altmers clean house. What about people who are not (and for me thats almost never) usually making human characters? Will we have children as well? And what about bosmer, altmer and khajiit? None of them have any spouses. (Altmer are supposed to but i never noticed that it was fixed) On a side note they better let me build my wizard tower.....

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Looks pretty cool. I'm not happy with any of the housing in Skyrim so maybe it will fix this problem for me. I REALLY like the personal carriage driver that can take you to the smaller villages. I hate quick travel but it's such a pain in the youknowwhat to walk sometimes, hahaha. This will fix that for me.
Awww come on. Just think of it was breeding man-slaves

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Yes.... and since i will outlive them all (if they dont kill me) i will get to enjoy them through their whole lives muwhahahaha! But really thats just messed up, and by the way the girl who that guy "adopted" has parents i think....

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
I don't think she does actually. Her name is Lucia, if the wiki is accurate there's no such child in the game. It's possible the dlc adds new children for the sake of adoption.

I apologize , i always forget that people play Xbox and PS3s here
i know thats foolish , and im sorry for how i phrased my last comment
But honestly , I think this is a bit of a ''meh'' idea , other games have better house building and family mechanics , i would rather play those if i wanted that , in skyrim i want to explore and adventure , i barely spend time in my guys houses , and i rent beds in Inns , so i wont be getting this one unless it adds more than simply House construction
but i do think this will be good for those who like to Roleplay strongly in Skyrim
EDIT : What is wrong with me today ?! so many spelling errors !

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
Which is why ill be buying this 5 dollar DLC..... Im not a reallly really heavy role player but i like these kinds of elements..... Also there better be a plot of land in the rift or in falkreath because i have no intention of living in Hjallmarch even if my favorite crazy jarl lives there......

Re: Hearth Fire DLC?
At the very least you'll have Falkreath but I would hope they put a plot in every hold.

Choose Your Land - Choose from property in the salt marshes of Hjaalmarch, the forests of Falkreath, or the vast tundra of The Pale. For the more ambitious landowner, purchase multiple plots and start building a real estate empire.
