Ok, here is the overhaul edit you've been so patiently waiting for:

Finally! A non-generic answer!
Cactus wrote:I'm afraid, and rightfully so, of the sun. It hurts me a great deal.

My vision is twice as good as what is traditionally considered "perfect" as I can see at approximately 20/10. This allows me to see in the dark where others cannot. On the other hand it nearly cripples me in the sun because the light hurts me even through dark sunglasses.
Wow... I don't think I've ever heard of anyone like that. Neat! Except for the sun hurting part, that's actually somewhat tragic.

Or just during the day... (I bet you're awake at night aren't you?)

I love doing that; it makes me feel so much less worthless than I am.
Cactus wrote:When I was a very young child I awoke to find an angel sitting in bed with me, watching me. I mean that absolutely literally, with no hint of joking or sarcasm. I do not care if you don't believe me. Ironically enough, I'm pagan.
I'm not saying I don't believe you and I'm not saying I do. However the fact still remains that: Why in the world are you pagan if you saw an angel sitting in bed beside you???

Me too, but willfully. Whenever I'm bored, mostly.

That's one of those completely random, yet somehow interesting, things.

Me too. You know it doesn't give you arthritis? It's just the synovial fluid (joint lubricant) moving around.

Another random, yet interesting, thing.

Well, when i got born, i got that thing in the church where the priests put water on your head and say some words, and i'm only 11, so i havent been confirmated yet.

I beleive more in Voodoo(though, i'm not a voodoo practiser..) that i beleive in Christianity.

I got a little more thing to add:

I actually beleive Hell is'nt a 'OMG HELL R LEIK BAD!' after reading 2 books staring a boy who gets killed and comes to hell..Ironically enough, he's a completely good boy.

Baptism is the word you're looking for... and if you had absolutely no say in it, or if you just decide to stop being a christian, that's fine, just because you were baptised doesn't mean you have to be a Christian...

More about me. I'm enjoying this thread!

I go back to uni in a week's time. Rock. I intend to actually enjoy my final year, so no more blog-style rants on here, I'm afraid.

I am currently unwell. I am also currently listening to This Will Destroy You's self-titled album. My best discovery of the year I think, apart from possibly MGMT.

I have a new guitar, it's an early 21st birthday present from my dad since I'll be at uni for my actual birthday.

I'm in my dressing gown. I do hope no-one's watching. *giggles*

I have a tendency to read too much into things and get worried about them. I am doing so at the moment - one of my best friends seems to be ignoring me, and I just cannot fathom why. Maybe she's just busy.

I agree with the death penalty, but only for murder, treason and adultery.

I wish I was Glaswegian, so if said friend was ignoring me for no good reason I could respond with "Git tae [&@%!], ya wee [&@%!]!"

Most of my friends are girls. Apparently this is because I'm a very approachable person and unlike most men I don't think with my gland, I think with my brain (although this is disputable sometimes)

As previous relationships I have been in have proved, asking 'what are you thinking?' at intimate moments is not advised because I can guarantee you won't like the answer. There's often all sorts of odd stuff going through my mind.

With regards to the above post, I have a friend with Scandinavian heritage but as yet have not managed to persuade her to change her name to Stig Bloodaxe Olafssen.

Treason? As in treason against government? Adultery-that was a joke right? Personally I think the Death Penalty should only be used in the most horrible crimes imaginable e.g. abusing a child {in the wrongest sense of the word}. Im not saying murdering someone isnt a horrible crime but Id prefer them to get a genuine life-sentance than kill them.
Im still here :)

Is this too political for a new thread? I feel pretty strongly about this and am aching to state publicly why that is a bad idea, but i dont want to take this thread off track or break the rules of the forum.

I agree with you on the death penalty. Why should society pay loads of tax money to keep people miserable in jail for a lifetime instead of just executing them? It's more humane, economical and practical.

I don't know how anyone can see how killing someone is better that locking them away. It may be more practical and economical, but it's not humane. And being humane is, in my opinion, more imortant than being either economical or practical, unless you want to turn into someone who bases everything on the actual number of pros and cons, that's like turning everything into a mathematical problem.
There is only 1 right answer, which isn't true. (Unless you're doing maths...)

Giving someone the death penalty for murder is basically saying "An eye for an eye,",
I agree with Guy on the thing about adultery, anyone can succumb to a weakness...
And I dunno what you mean about treason. :?

r would like to tell you something else about himself. The death penalty bit was him quoting Alan Partridge and does not necessarily reflect his, her or indeed its views. So let's stop getting all worked up about it.

And I promise never to do the 'In Soviet Russia...' thing again.

Boy, you and me both, buddy. I have serious issues with that specific problem. You don't want to see me get paranoid when you know me, which I have a tendency to do, especially since I have a huge secret to protect. Same here, though, I'd probably lie about what I was thinking just to preserve intimacy, I have trained my brain to take any and all spare time I have to just think. Many people I know ask how in the world I just "think" without anything to start from; I tell them it's a learned process. The truth is, I've always had a natural talent for being able to instantly bring up a thought with a linked path at will. Since I have this natural ability I am considered by many, including myself, to be a very deep person, as while perusing my thoughts, I often find out many things about the world and about myself. I almost know for a fact that I know myself better than anyone at my school knows themselves. I tend to look at the big picture when I'm in pain, so every time some big or small grievance hits me, I am wonton to shove it off under the premise of "selfish". After doing this for so many years I have acquired a phobia of egotism and will only use the word I in absolute necessity, such as when describing myself in a thread for some people 1000's of miles away that don't even know what I look like (but that's just a hyperbolic example). It grieves, me, though, that I have only one friend to share my deep discoveries with at school, as he is the only one that will listen without labeling me some sort of freak. But then again, people are dying every day in India that don't even get to think like this, even though a lot of them probably could, so I have nothing to complain about...

It's nowhere near that deep with me, it's more like this.

Girl: What are you thinking?
Me:... I was just wondering if you could get a really big pumpkin, hollow it out then wear it over your head like a sort of pumpkin helmet?

Thankfully in this case the girl in question was equally puzzled by the question. We decided that it was possible, but somewhat fraught with danger because you wouldn't be able to see. Perhaps you could carve it like a Jack-o-lantern then look through they eye holes, or cut 3 of the 4 sides of a large square into it, and on the 4th side cut through the flesh but leave the skin intact so you end up with a sort of pumpkin visor. Much better visibility that way.

(Forget all my previous girlfriends and feel sorry for the people I work with - they have to put up with this for 10 hours at a time)

Some more stuff about me.

Joining the Marine Corps is something I'd like to do when I get out of High School. And these rising conflicts with Russia and Pakistan is only making me want to join more.

I'm very easily distracted, which is mostly why I have trouble in school. Usually the teacher will be talking about complex numbers, and I'll be thinking about how I'm hungry, then I'll wonder how big bears are, then I'll ask myself who invented gum, and finally I'm thinking of all the reasons why Honey Barbecue is better than Mesquite.

I like Journey and I will defend to the death my belief that no one can feel sad while listening to "Don't Stop Believing."

I'm brutally honest most of the time. If you ask me what I think about something, I'll tell you, But I don't really do it in a mean way.

I probably drink too much soda and I don't really eat healthy. I'm skinny as a stick though, so you wouldn't think I eat as much as I do just by looking at me.

I think about Life's Great questions a lot. Maybe too much.

I can go from mature to immature and back again fairly quickly.

I'm a little twitchy.

More about me:

I can hit 15 targets with a .45 pistol in 22 seconds.

My bursts with the M4 Carbine generally consists of six quick pulls of the trigger.

My mile runs increased from 3 to 4 two days ago.

I am a very skilled, and rather well-known, at least in my area, hacker. Both computer and door (lock-picking).

My dislike for the M4 and almost all American standard-issue weapons is endless.

I recently fired an MP5 for the first time.

My gear for hacking is only portable...:(

My dad has a sniper certification, which I will probably will never earn.

I'm widely considered as a philosopher in my hometown, and to those I know.

Generally speaking, I don't think in any sort of religious or moral way. Nor do I answer questions like that either.

I have read Physics by Aristotle, and it is one of my favorite books.

My answers to questions about the world and life are not answered by science nor religion, neither is it influenced. I am very opinionated and brutally honest.

I didn't start hallucinating until I was an adult, about 21. According to the doctor it's a strange side-effect of the narcolepsy. I saw the angel when I was much younger. If it makes everyone feel better to see what was an unintentional order of random information, then by all means.

Wolf wrote:Or just during the day... (I bet you're awake at night aren't you?)
I am indeed a night person. I work nights and sleep during the day, however I'm prone to fall asleep anytime, day or night. Here's an example:
I was at work one night. We were all separating pallets of groceries by aisle so we could each go to our own respective aisles and stock. I was joking, laughing, talking. I bent over to put a box down, and fell asleep while I was leaning down. I simply kept going and was woke up when my face smacked into the pallet. Ten seconds before I was fully awake; I fell asleep just that fast. For hours after that I was so groggy and sleepy I couldn't stand up or walk without assistance. It finally just wore off and I was fine.
Wolf wrote:I'm not saying I don't believe you and I'm not saying I do. However the fact still remains that: Why in the world are you pagan if you saw an angel sitting in bed beside you???
Well, the belief of angels and the following of Christian dogma aren't mutually exclusive, for the most basic of answers. I mean, I believe in God, and angels, and the general moral ideologies of Christianity, but that's about as far as it goes.
