Well dragon age had like 5 things out after a month or 2.
So skyrim could easily do a small add on after a month.

Dragon age has VERY few places you can go compared to skyrim which is openended, Skyrim has a lot more content that needs to be checked, and more bugs.

...You miss the point, I think, of my issue with the Morrowind-Black Marsh idea. The issue isn't finding an RP reason to find yourself there when you're playing, it is how to set up the character wanting to take that option for the game. How to introduce it. For SI, it was a crazy lady on an island or something like that(been a few years). It didn't just suddenly appear and then you wander towards it with no hint or push. And even then, it was weak.Assassin540 wrote:You have to be creative think of a reson your character would want to go to let's say the dlc was Morrowind make up something like your character had to go there for a job, maybe he needed a vacation, maybe they wanted to explore you know?
Basically, why would the Dragonborn, his plate still full in Skyrim, choose to just wander over towards the Black Marsh-Morrowind border? What is the enticement towards it? There are likely dozens of ways to introduce it, but it just feels off to include the Black Marsh border region.
As I said earlier, Orsinium and Morrowind are the two best expansion areas. But for Morrowind, it works almost entirely because of the border with Skyrim and how you can easily just hit a special area on the border and cross it, and vice versa. You move towards the Black Marsh, and you have to explain why we don't just go towards the Skyrim border instead. You can do the vast Dunmer resistance near the border with Skyrim and it works.
Also, I dislike the idea of including provinces that haven't been seen in a main game as parts of DLC, so the mention of Black Marsh is a major turnoff. Morrowind yay.

Orsinium is a wonderful suggestion. I've always been a huge fan of the Orcs, with admiration for their culture. Wouldn't it be a welcome change of lore if, instead of getting sacked repeatedly, Orsinium managed to expand its geographical size to almost a quarter of High Rock?

I think we will most likely for the first DLC get small stuff, as IIRC the first two 360 will get a month in advanced, and that seems to me like they would be small, ad then the big one or two, maybe somethign to do with ships

Because Black Marsh hasn't been seen in its own main game, so I don't want my introduction to it being a non-essential DLC that can only showcase a small fraction/part of it. When I get a new province in a game, I want to feel like this is an important province, filled with as much history and importance as any other. DLC province would only have a fraction of that.Wolfie wrote:they havenever includer a province we een to before in DLC.....Stan RedGuard wrote: Also, I dislike the idea of including provinces that haven't been seen in a main game as parts of DLC, so the mention of Black Marsh is a major turnoff. Basically, I would love to see Black Marsh as the setting for a brand new game, same with Elsewyr, the Summerset Isles, or Valenwood. Having DLC in those areas, however, would be lame from my perspective.
Meanwhile, we've been to High Rock(Orsinium) and Morrowind, so I already have that whole regional flavor thing down.

Orsinium is nice. I also think that it would be easy to border- a vast mountain range surrounded by a huge wall, perhaps? You can get to the top of the wall and jump out of Orsinium, but the fall kills you no matter what. No need then to just have an impassable area.
Second expansion idea would be the border with Morrowind. It would be easy to move between the two provinces and allows you to expand the story, and the borders could be mountains, water somehow made deadly due to Red Mountain, and a vast area poisoned due to Red Mountain.
In my dream world, I have four DLCs the size of Knights of the Nine/slightly larger and two expansions. It goes Sovngarde(DLC), Civil War(DLC), Orsinium(Expansion), Talos-Thalmor(DLC), Ghost Sea/Akavari(DLC), Morrowind(Expansion). Three of the four DLCs build off of what the game already has, making them easier to develop for and also enriching the base content, while both expansions help define modern Tamriel well.

Re: DLC Speculation
"Solstheim, sometimes spelled Soulstheim, is an island to the northwest of Vvardenfell and east of Skyrim. Despite being in the general area of Morrowind, its climate is more that of Skyrim. Unlike the other islands of Tamriel, it is not part of any province. The Empire has a small foothold at Fort Frostmoth in the warmer southern reaches of the island, and the ambitious East Empire Company has sent mining expeditions slightly further north to Raven Rock. The local Nords live in isolated tribal communities such as the Skaal, and many of them resent the outsiders' claims to the island."Wolfie wrote:Blood moon intruduce us to skyrim, I mean a DLc like that, ot a full fleged province, just a partStan RedGuard wrote: Because Black Marsh hasn't been seen in its own main game, so I don't want my introduction to it being a non-essential DLC that can only showcase a small fraction/part of it. But it is a island that shares many similarities to mainland skyrim.
So it basically previewed skyrim.

Not Skyrim. That would be like saying that if the DLC was a swamp island and two full games later, we saw Black Marsh, that said island was part of Black Marsh. Solstheim is Solstheim, Skyrim is Skyrim, we did not see Skyrim in Solstheim.

We saw Nords and the climate. That does not make it Skyrim. Were the snowy mountains of Cyrodiil also part of Skyrim then?XD No. Solstheim is not a province itself, nor is it part of Skyrim. Ipso facto, we didn't see Skyrim until Skyrim.
I mean, parts of Elsewyr and Hammerfell are deserts, but if we had an expansion in the Alik'r and then two full games later we were in Elsewyr, would we say that the Alik'r expansion was in Elsewyr?

And that would be fine. No issue there. I just don't want it to be the province. So if you were to tell me that that island northeast of Morrowind was to be the setting and it was more or less the geography of Black Marsh, I'd nod along and go with it because it isn't Black Marsh. I want the lore, history, and expansiveness of a full province complete with a full story worthy of it when we get to any real part of any province. You want to show me some sort of non-Black Marsh island that shares innumerable similarities in a DLC? Cool.Rynkar wrote:No, but we would know what it looks likes and what enemies we might see.
Just don't give me the province or part of it as DLC when we haven't been there for a main game yet, or I feel like Bethesda is saying, "This is a less important part of the universe and you can ignore it for the most part."

Re: DLC Speculation
From what I read sofar these seem the best worked out (correct me, if I forgot one):

- 1. Creating your own farmstead (http://forums.uesp.net/viewtopic.php?p=574676#p574676) and perhaps expand it to become a village.
2. The adding of the Orsinium area: I guess that means the entire Wrothgarian Mnts., however this would also mean that cities laying between Orsinium and Skyrim should be included. That would be a lot of work.
3. Working in the other direction and adding a part of the mainland of Morrowind with its own big quest and some minor quests.
4. Adding some of the planes of Oblivion, also with it's own main quest and some minor quests: This option would leave the developers the most freedom.

Add let the bard's colleage do something.

For Orsinium, not really- you can say that Orc Strongholds in Skyrim have built long tunnels into Orsinium so they can go to her aid and supply her in secret.Frisicus wrote:From what I read sofar these seem the best worked out (correct me, if I forgot one):
Entire provinces like Cyrodiil, Hammerfell let alone the faraway -Mer provinces is something they leave for the modding community. Until now Bethesda has never added entire provinces as add-ons. And since the game is named 'Skyrim' I doubt they will do it this time. Though dreaming of such is not forbidden.

Also, the Sovngarde idea does have you visit Hircine's plane, if that counts.

yes we did not see the "place" but we did see a isalnd that has evreythign skyrim has except it happens not to "belong" to skyrim
the diffrice here is that those two places are very far apart AND very defreint
Skyrim coustoms and such where there, for hammerfell it would not be
And even so thats my whole point, show them a small area to intruduce us to the place
like blood moon gave us a glimps at the nords and their way of life

I want to be High King & eventually start the next line of Dragonborn emperors. Maybe even see my character go through an apotheosis & become 10th divine As Bethesda haven't done any direct sequels, my only hope lies in DLC comparable with Shivering Isles.

In Fallout 3, DLC inncluded The Pitt and Point Lookout, which I feel they did a good job with. You got a real sense of the culture there, although Fo3 always lacked in side quests..
I like the idea of Morrowind, minus the island. I feel like if all that 3d rendering was for anything, it was so that there would be an (inaccessible) island to view in the distance, while you trod around on the Morrowind mainland. I would like to see what it's like in an even more ashen Morrowind, and to see what's become of Mournhold without Amelexia around for 200 years.
