Shama rushed over to the food and water and stuffed herself with many chesses and bread. She then drank a ton of water then slammed the jug onto the counter top.
"I am sorry about my wife, umm, um... What is your name? I am Dwanum

"Whatever." Matthias said, leaving. He put the armor on, and approached the gates of Mithrim. He stopped outside, and checked his gear.

"No need to apologize. She is clearly hungry. You have been travelling far. I am Beleg, a Noldor. Pleased to meet you." He offered a hand.

Faronhír hurried to his post, aware that he was dangerously close to being late. If he was quick, he might slip into position before his Capitan realised he was late.

Dwanum looked him in the eye and met his hand and shook. "The pleasure is mine." He released Beleg's hand and asked "How did Pick... I mean the bear treat you?"

"Fine. I have the Gift of the Noldor." Explained Beleg, breaking some bread in half and offering it to the Dwarf.

The Captain stepped into view. He was clad in elven armour and wielded a heavy sword, curved and jagged with an ornate marble hilt.

"And where have you been?" He asked, inspecting the stars, attempting to check the time.

Dwanum showed hesitation in taking the bread, but he was hungry. He thanked the man and bit into the bread. Shama ate another chesse slice and another loaf of bread. Dwanum said, "So what persuaded you to bring me to your home.

"I am a woodsman. I saw you struggling. I had to help." He admitted, slowly chewing the soft loaf.

"Well that was very kind of you sir." Dwanum said. You heard Shama belch and then come over. "Is there a place to lie down?" Shama asked holding her buldging belly.

"Certainly. You two can take the upstairs bedroom. There is a secondary room in the basement. I'll use that." He saud.

Shama hiccuped and walked away. Dwanum slipped out another apology and handed him fifty gold pieces. "Please take this, for the food and the rooms." He said

Beleg looked surprised. "I do not ask for money. I will not accept it. You need it."

"On patrol sir," Faronhír replied, "Amon Gwareth lies silent."

"Is that so?" Questioned the Captain, smiling slightly. "Go to the main gate. You are to patrol the mountains. Another Captain will meet you there."

"Thank you agian Beleg, Do you happen to know the time?" asked Dwanum.

"Yes sir," Faronhír said, hurrying off in the direction of the main gate to the southwest, thankful that he had avoided any reprimand.

And then the Captain took out his bow and shot the elf in the head. Instantly killing him.

Finwe was milling around outside Gondolin, preparing his troops for patrol. In the distance, shrouded in darkness and only seen by the torch in his hand, was Faronhir. "Who goes there?" Finwe bellowed, demanding to know.

"Sir, I have been sent from the North Gate patrol to accompany you," Faronhír responded, making the rainbow sphere on his blue uniform visible, indicating he was a member of the House of the Heavenly Arch.

Finwe adjusted his helmet to get a better look. "Ahh... So it fares not well for the land of Gondolin, does it, if they send a member of the Arch to patrol the borders." Smiled the Elf. "Take a spear. We are heading to Fort Resire. We will be hiking for the whole night. Snow storms are expected. Take care."

Faronhír was about to make a snide remark regarding Captain, insulted by the slander of his House, but he caught himself just in time. I must improving, he though, this is a good sign.

Instead he simply nodded and said, "as you command, sir."

Dwanum went up to the room and thanked the man. he slept in a bed for the first time in 42 years.

"No need to wear a frown in the land of Gondolin, Faronhir, I mean not to cause offence. Come, we will discuss matters in the warmth of the fort."

The group set off just as the Sun set and the land was eclipsed in darkness.
