Re: Star Wars
The climax of the battle between Obi Wan and Anakin. Why didn't Anakin just force push Obi down? Or at least the ground around him. It wasn't like it was solid.

Re: Star Wars
Why didn't Anakin just throw Obi-wan into the lava, throw lava/rocks at Obi-wan, or, you know, jump higher? Because George Lucas need to tie into the Original Trilogy.

Re: Star Wars
Speaking of which... why did the General die by a simple pistol to the chest by a jedi... like couldn't any soldier with a good aim have done that?

Re: Star Wars
On the topic of using the force to level ground,
Force pushing isn't that strong, to displace earth. it's strong enough to break walls of earth, but not landscape.

Re: Star Wars
loose? They're surrounded by lava. I'm assuming the ground isn't sand.

Re: Star Wars
Cooling lava is not the most solid substance in the world. And watch the scene again. Looks a lot like sand to me.

Re: Star Wars
Cooling lava is not solid, I'll admit that. but neither is hard enough to support a battle with people using the force. If it was lava, he wouldn;t need the force to bend it. Obi wan would lose his high ground by moving around.
The only possible thing that they could have been fighting on was rock. Cannot be anything else.

Re: Star Wars
Oh, Duel of the Fates, why must you be cursed so. A great scene, a great song, bound to such a mediocre movie. Why?
Justice knight wrote:Oh and listen to Br3ad he speaks wisdom.
Re: Star Wars
You're talking about the Duel of Fates and you're discussing Anakin's terrible tactics? What about the seeming absence of convection in the battle? Both of them would have been burned alive when they stepped foot on that planet.

I was changing topics....
Anyway, um...the Force. Yeah that sounds like a good excuse.

I've not heard of a Force power known as Force Anti-Convection or Force Heatproof suit.

Force Energy Resistance, and heat is energy. And Force Armor.

Re: Star Wars
Then why was Anakin on fire when Obi-Wan sent him rolling down the hill, when moments ago he was about the same distance from the lava and never batted an eyelid.

His arm and legs were cut off. Less cells, less focus, less Force power.

Why were their clothes not burned off, then? Or are there midi-chlorians on their robes?

Re: Star Wars
My guess is the protection only extends to the heat from the lava and the rock they were standing on. tempreture and all the other effect, but only secondary.
Once he fell INTO the lava, the shield broke. Much like the force barrier in KOTOR.
The loss of legs don't factor in other than as a lack of focus and concentration that is common from having your limbs cut off.
midi chlorians don't exist.

Well, George Lucas seems to think they are so they do exist. Not that I agree with it but who cares if I don't?
