Imperial Legion (club/faction)
Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I like dirt... But seriously giving the mages food sounds pretty good. We could always ask them to destroy the rebels from the inside while we attack directly. I'm fairly certain they'll comply.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
I was not under the impression that the mages were dirt-poor hobos asking for handouts. During my last visit to the college to gather spell tomes for our battlemages, they all seemed rather well-fed. Perhaps a deal to supply them with a little more peace and quiet and some much needed magical supplies would be less insulting to them?
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

On my first Legion character, I did the treaty first. But after that I started doing the reunification first.

actually Pilaf, I was curious, do the thalmor have influence over the legion and Imperial battlemage corps?Pilaf The Defiler wrote:I was not under the impression that the mages were dirt-poor hobos asking for handouts. @ Derp
I believe, there isn't direct control, but there is pressure applied to the high command by the Thalmor on occasion.
EDIT: Ohai, Stormcloak!

Everyone hates the Thalmor. The Legion have always wanted them out. They don't really influenece them on anything.

Define "influence". They're not usually in our camps or anything, but there's an adviser or three in most War College bases.derp53 wrote: actually Pilaf, I was curious, do the thalmor have influence over the legion and Imperial battlemage corps?
I am NOT giving up my Steam Centurion. I guess the schematics wouldn't hurt though. Maybe they can even help me re train the damn thing.Skyrimplayer wrote:Well, how about finding something they'd want to study?

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
To quote the great general Talos Stormcrown - who I am allowed to quote and admire in a military sense, mind you - "Some things are universal, shared by all sentient folk of good will," he said. "So the One teaches us. We must unite against the malicious and the brutish, the mis-created, the orcs, trolls, goblins and other worse creataures, not strive 'gainst one another."
Of course, I'll still sheathe my sword in any Stormcloak who pulls a weapon in my presence. This I promise all the saints and gods.
Also, I apologize for our former Emperor's racism against the Orcs. Even a great man has flaws.

I hate how Pilaf is here, with his logic, and.... lore, and "The Empire had no choice" attitude. It kind of makes you think. Kind of. But any true person of any strong honest, character would stand his ground in a losing fight for what he believes in. Or have you never seen the statue in Kvatch?

Ysgrammor and his sons fled the Night of Tears, all the way back to Atmora. If he had done as you suggest, the Five Hundred Companions would never have avenged that massacre.

Ysgramor stood his ground, and never stood on a thirty year crutch. Unlike some people.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
Well... We really didn't have a choice, and if you look closely, you'll see we made a smart move when we signed the concordant. Have you read the dossier the Thalmor keep on Ulfric? Read them and see what you think of him after that. Plus, we dislike the Thalmor too. At least we're not too public about it. Ulfric's rebellion just started this whole thing. We were fine. We could still worship Talos in secret. Now you can barely walk two feet without being stopped by a Thalmor agent. And even if you do win, how do you plan on taking on the Dominion?

I read it at launch, and nothing you can say can convince me Ulfric winning is bad. Many of the posters above have been trying for months to no avail, I doubt you will be any different.

Last time I checked, Ulfric surrendered to the Legion. Which is why he was at the chopping block. He was surrounded, and gave up.

Besides, nothing is more aesthetically bad-ass than a giant Nord duel-wielding Imperial gladiuses, wearing a Spartan-style helmet.

Re: Imperial Legion (club/faction)
are you insinuating that Ulfric is racist? Cause he as a person isn't, it's his some of his supporters that are racist, and even then I don't agree with them. But as Pilaf said "Even an Elf can have the heart of a Nord."Eltee wrote:I'd rather have nobility put profit before my life than have nobility arbitrarily deprive it of value based on the pointedness of my ears.derp53 wrote:ah Eltee, my conscience is fine knowing i'm no thalmor puppet or fodder for some stuck up nobility who would put a profit before my lifeEltee wrote:@ Derp
