What race would/will you choose?

This poll is sort of interesting but it's hard to draw any conclusions due to the fact that it's based on a mere 100 or so people. Data from fan sites such as TESOF or Tamriel Foundry number in the thousands and they show a pretty consistent pattern:

Nords lead by a wide margin.
Dunmer is second with an equally wide margin down to
Breton, Altmer and Bosmer making up the mid range, and then
Redguard, Khajiit, Argonian in the low range.
Orcs are clearly the least popular.

The fact that this poll allow for two votes per player may be the reason Argonians seem so popular. They may be few players' first choice but a popular second one. Nords being less popular here though may be because we have a higher percentage of old fans who didn't just join the series with Skyrim.

Then of course these numbers will be greatly altered by all those who never saw the inside of a TES game in their life. What will they choose? Probably a lot of elves, Bretons and Nords there as well, but who knows for sure.

Definitely one of the races from the Ebonheart Pact. I'd like a chance to visit places I know from previous games before I'm lev50. Especially Morrowind, since this is the most alien and original province so far. And I've always thought that Black Marsh could be made into something at least as interesting. I picked Dunmer and Argonian, because Nords are a bit too generic for me and I'm seeing enough of them right now in Skyrim.

I wonder how much of the Argonians' popularity or lack thereof in some polls is related to people who have/had only seen the first character model and not the much improved PaxEast 2013 models

I actually think it's marginal. Most people know what "pre-alpha" means when compared to a finished product. And the data I'm referring to comes from TES fan sites where I think people stick with their favourites while hoping for model updates closer to launch.

Faction allegiance, on the other hand, should play a big part. Most players will likely focus on one alliance and may select alliance first and race second. Some players already know their guild will be in the AD f.ex and picks the best AD race as favourite.

I selected Bosmer, but didn't notice the question allowed for more than one choice.

I'm definitely going to be playing Dominion, considering Bosmer and Khajiit, my two favourite races, are both there. I think that the only reason we garner so much hostility is due to the only exposure to the Aldmeri Dominion that people have experienced thus far is their portrayal in Skyrim, where, admittedly, they were a bunch of stuck up Altmer. That said, anyone who played ES games before Skyrim can attest to the fact that pre-skyrim Altmer were, in majority, nice.

I think the human races are generally of the least interest to me, although Redguard is the most intriguing to me of the selection. Nord mostly, I think. Breton or Orc if I feel like playing the Daggerfall Covenant, and Altmer if I play an Aldmeri Dominion character.

Though all my choices for races are the lowest percentage of their respective faction: Khajiit, Orc, with Argonian normally being the lowest of Ebonheart (UESP being one of the few where Argonians beat out Nords)

Oddly>_> argonians, dunmer, and orcs by far are more favorable in my opinion. I'm not going to change my choice because a game, much like converting to nords after skyrim like most<_< I love them because they appeal to me. It comes from their lore and culture, and to me that is why they have earned my love.
Even if say the majority say my choice is unpopular, at least I can say I'm different^_^ I think that's why UESP supports such a vast diversity, because we share a common love and can even defy the majority. Power to us!

I'm thinking Dunmer first. I'm shamelessly infatuated with them.

My second choice, Redguard maybe? That's what I voted. But pretty much all are awesome. I've had all kinds of characters and never really had on I didn't like.

Chaos, I don't know how to quote effectively in this forum, but notice I said 'Bad guys' I played a lot of WoW, and yes, For The Horde. But even still, the horde were determined to be the 'eviler' of the two factions. So, yes, they were playable orcs, but the horde were undoubtedly still 'Bad guys'

I would debate you on the fact that there is no "bad" faction, but two grey factions and qualifying them otherwise is just people's self-imposed need to identify with a singular morality..or people who can't get past the lore in warcraft 1-3, but this isn't the place for it. (Eastern Horde, notwithstanding)

It's okay to accept that Orcs are the race that people love to hate, I for one like to see them as outcasts and easy scapegoats for writers looking to kill something that humans find generally repulsive (In Orcs case, the savagery and crude nature human like to hide)...like spiders...or snakes...or insects
