It was already to late. Chris was dead. The fire wasn't put out by his coat. It continued to light the room. The group could hear a very loud banging from above. It sounded like something was trying to break through the ceiling.

"You should try and control your anger." the voice told Baird.

[Baloth-Kul]

You should go f*ck yourself. Baird patted down Chris for anything useful, anything that might help them combat their enemy. He looked between her corpse and Connor as he did so. "There must be something we can still do!"

[Kerr]

Baird hurt his hands trying to search the body that was on fire. The banging didn't stop.

[Kerr]

The banging was coming from right above them. A massive green fist came through the ceiling. It hit right next on Chris's body and almost hit Baird. The fire was put out and the fist retracted.

[Kerr]

More of the ceiling was ripped away. The massive hand grabbed Baird.

Baird bit and hit and kicked at the hand as much as he could. He cursed and swore and screamed wildly. BURN THIS F*CKING THING BURN IT BURN IT BURN IT!

"HOLY [&@%!]!" Sarrina exclaimed and stepped back away from the fist.

[Kerr]

Baird was picked up and thrown away. He went flying over half the city before slamming into an apartment complex. He still couldn't see anything in the pitch black. He was killed on impact. The fist came back down again ready to grab the other three.

Apparently Viktor is not in the room, or he's mastered the art of camouflage. Ain't no crazy ninja mercenaries here. No Sir Ree Bob.

Viktor lit up a cigarette and made a beeline for the doorway, attempting to spot the head of whatever the arm belonged to.
'Well, that escalated quickly.' He said, rather surprised at Baird's sudden exit.

The hand managed to grab all three of them.

"LET US GO!" Sarrina exclaimed as she tried to break free.

'Well this is unfortunate.' Viktor said dryly. Attempting to fire shots at the hand that had ensnared them.

[Kerr]

They failed to break free or damage Ba'tag. Ba'tag brought them upward and threw them into his mouth. They heard a sickening crunch and smelt decomposing bodies just before death. A country mourned as one of its cities disappeared without a trace. While Fayport was sent to Umbra and all it's residents lost, Ba'Tag wasn't able to conquer Gaia. At least that could bring some comfort. May the residents of Fayport find more peace in the next life than they did in this one.
