Re: Racial Diets
I use the Ring of Namira for that purpose. Also game meat and similar things are the base of his diet.

Sadly, the Nords lose out as there's no lutefisk or limburger in the game.

The Ring of Namira is very useful for any true son of Valenwood, given their vow to devour the flesh of their enemies.

Do adherents of the green pact also avoid picking plants for alchemy purposes?

Re: Racial Diets
Actually on my Bosmer ranger I try not to pick any plants or consume anything vegetal. Still I have no problems with using the poisons and potions that I find during my adventures.
As for the bow I use the Dragon Weapons mod...it works great with this character.

Re: Racial Diets
This has puzzled me for a while.. Bosmer have a big boost to alchemy in Skyrim, Oblivion and Morrowind, but how does that make sense with the green pact?Deandra wrote:Do adherents of the green pact also avoid picking plants for alchemy purposes?

Re: Racial Diets
Well becouse the ingame racial bonuses are there to provide the package for a specific type of gameplay.
In case of the Bosmer, his racial skills scream of a sneak/assassin/marksman. It has nothing to do with the lore, only in generic terms.

Or... That Bosmer's an imposter. Makes sense if you don't think about it.

Because the Green Pact only applies within the borders of Valenwood.
Monsters are bred in labyrinths, labyrinths are bred from walls. There is a reason the Giants choose to remain nomadic rather than follow their shield kin the Nords in building permanent settlements. The Tower is the beginning of all walls.

My bosmer eats anything he can find, especially after fighting and burning those precious calories.

And not all alchemical ingredients are plant-based. Most, but not all.
And I thought Bosmer were only supposed to eat their fallen comrades? ... goodness, either way, that repulses me.

They're actually supposed to consume any enemy they fell, but there are ways around this, such as on foreign soil, or when it would be impractical, etc.
Yffre's rules are actually not as strict as many assume. They almost always only count within the boundaries of her own forests and nowhere else, and they're flexible.

It's still more disgusting than a Hagraven collecting goat-eyes, though.

Re: Racial Diets
I have my Vampire character eat Death Bells and Night Shade. First and foremost to reveal all their properties, and secondly because my character studies Death and is a Necromancers. So eating poison is her way of paying respect to death for cheating her for so many years.
