Favourite Arena Class?
Ok, so I was wondering what everyones favourite Arena class was and why?
Personally i'd say Battle Mage, the reason for this being that it is the perfect balance between knight and Mage and it suits my play style perfectly. A lot of people have said that the game is far easier with this class, I don't know if there is any substance to this claim but in my opion it is by far the best balanced.
So, what's yours and for what reasons?

I believe I choose a Bard in Arena since I generally like a mixed fighter/mage/thief playstyle.
I haven't played Arena in a while, but I seem to recall it is much like Daggerfall in that a high level magic using class is incredibly powerful (passwall for the win!).

My favourite class? That would have to be the Knight, I find that melee works so fine in the game that I can overlook having no mana whatsoever. Though it does get a bit frantic at times!
I find it's also quite fun to roleplay when I'm in the mood, taking quests to help people but then you get into Daggerfall and that's a whole different subject

I haven't tried the battle mage, but for the loss of .25 mana per int, and the gain of leather armor and more weapons, I'd say it's probably better in general compared to the pure mage. I'm actually playing a mage now, but now that I've read this and thought about it, I'm going to make a battle mage
I got really far with a knight a year or 2 ago, I don't remember what happened to that file. I gotta say: Warriors, Knights and Rangers hold massive advantages over other classes (possibly excluding monk if you get him to a high enough level).
I don't really see how the thief types are that good, they are not even close to the warrior classes in combat and you can just break down doors. I wonder how effective stealing from shops is though...
Anyways! My favorite classes are Knights, Battle Mages and Monks. Since I like magic the most, Battle Mage wins out.

Re: Favourite Arena Class?
I find the Monk incredible.
The lack of armor leaves you with not much need for money, except perhaps for buying Ebony stuff. I was lucky enough to find Ebony Torc and Belt pretty early on. I use my excess to repair my ebony warhammer and keep myself stocked with necessary potions (healing, resist fire, cure disease).
The critical rate (3%/level) is insane, few monsters take more than a few swings.

Re: Favourite Arena Class?
I finish the game with a Warrior. The last dongeon was very hard. I use like 60 health potions ...

OK, this thread is older than the mountains, and there isn't much more that can usefully be added, so I'm locking. Please try not to necro-post.
