Morag Tong items question
Hi guys! I'm new here. I have a little question about the Mehrunes Razor quest. I am currently a level 4 ranger (custom class, lots of stealth etc) and I really, really like the items that imprisoned Morag Tong assasin has. The problem is, I know these items are leveled, so, I mustn't be getting good stuff. If I do not kill him, and instead kill him later, outside the tavern, when I am at a higher level, will the items be adjusted to m current level or will he be stuck to the ones he had when I met him?

Once the "Special" Items Spawn, they stay the same. That is why you want to save, Before you enter the Zone (Cell). Same with Random Loot. If you don't like what is there, you have to take it, and wait three days for the Random Loot to Respawn. The "Special" Items, unlike Random Loot, are only there once, and do not Respawn though.
The best thing to do for Quests with "Special" Leveled Items that you want, is to wait until you are a higher level, say level 20+, then install the DLC, and do the quest.
New Items
Most of the rewards for this quest are leveled items; the following tables provide the levels at which each of the variants of each item will first appear. However, in most cases you are not guaranteed to receive the best possible item for your level. Rather, you will randomly obtain any one of the items at or below your current level; the odds seem to favor the higher-level available items.
If you really want to get the best possible items, you need to save your game immediately before entering the zone where the leveled items appear. Enter and see what was randomly generated; if you don't like what you got, reload the save game and try again.

The dagger alone does good damage (depending on your level, its base damage is between that of a Steel Dagger and Daedric Dagger; its reach is slightly longer than a standard dagger). The most unusual aspect of this dagger, however, is the Daedric Banishing enchantment; this is the enchantment that justifies the ridiculously long dungeon crawl. The Daedric Banishing has a chance of instantly killing its target; this enchantment is not leveled.
The chance that Daedric Banishing instantly kills is based upon the player's luck:
DeathChance = PlayerLuck * 0.05
DeathChance is at least 1 and at most 10. The script then generates a random number from 0 to 99; if the random number is less than or equal to DeathChance, the dagger kills instantly. Therefore, if your luck is 20 or less, you have have a 2% chance of instant death; if your luck is 100, the chance is 6%; with luck boosted to 200, the chance becomes 11%.

Yeah, but bear in mind how many times you hit an enemy during a standard melee fight. Sometimes the guys would insta-death after six or seven hits. Other times they were going to die anyway.
I don't like using it, though cause you can't loot the corpse since the body just vanishes like a conjuration spell that's run out.

Re: Morag Tong
Apart for anything added with mods such as the Mehrune's Razor (fun dungeon crawl btw tons of baddies to put a hurting on...but I digress) mod what part do they play in Oblivion? I found a camp with a couple of Morag Tong thugs, (left 'em alone though, I'm picky when it comes to killing lol).
k nuff babblling lol What are those sneaky little tongsters up to?

I'm guessing the Morag Tong agent was sent to do something about Drothan and didn't do a very good job of it, because Drothan's a rogue Telvanni warlord or something, isn't he? Maybe one of the other Great Houses sent him. And I believe the two guys you find in the campsite are Cammona Tong, not Morag Tong.
Yeah, they just die like normal, no vanishing or anything.Zavrith wrote:That's never how it works for meLogius wrote:I don't like using it, though cause you can't loot the corpse since the body just vanishes like a conjuration spell that's run out.![]()
For me it just kills them, I can still loot no problems.
