I just dont want to have to start a new character all over again.
Should I do it?
Should I do it?
Just started playing Oblivion, its a blast! Here's my question. Ive been playing on the 360, I have the latest patch and expansion. I really wanna duplicate items. I know I will have to delete the expansion, but I can re-download it later. What I need to know is will my current saved game still work after I delete the patch and expansion. I dont think Ive gotten far enough to get any of the new content thats available in the expansion.

It's hard to make money in Oblivion? Are we talking about the same game here? There are so many ways to make easy money. Go every couple of days into the small fort just west of the Imperial City, sell that stuff you find there. I think there are 7 NPCs in there, six of them fighting against each other, you usually get good stuff from them.
Another way would be to join the thieves guild to get access to a fence and plunder the Mages Guild halls at night while everyone's asleep. With all those books and alchemy apparatures you should make enough money in the beginning. You won't need much money later in the game, anyway.
Selling is the key to become rich. I stopped doing quests for money.

Just... level and do quests. I have all the houses and 153,000 gold besides just from quests. When you get to a higher level, you get better items worth more, and that's just from an un-modded, vanilla game right from the store, no cheats, glitches or anything interesting.
It's a bit of work but not that much. If you don't want to do quests, just creep through dungeons, forts, caves, etc. You won't find anything worth much at a low level but after 25 you've got so much gold you don't know what to do with it.

Yeah, the more stuff you do, the more items you will have avaliable. Think of it as making it big in the city. You start off with crap. But if you work your way up you can surely earn an easier lifestyle. The more guilds you do, the more caves, ruins, forts you plunder, and the more people you help. And the occasional stolen good doesnt hurt anything. But you gotta work for it. And for god's sake. dont kill the merchants. but who cares about the other npcs

just a few days ago i was wishing i had the money glitch too, but then i started exploring more, went to forts and caves, and now im just to rich it seems like, usually get full set of daedric every time atleast. P.S. Go to any caves with mauraders in them, they drop really good items, usually the best you can get at your level (so for me usually full glass and daedric)

In the beginning, it IS pretty tough to make money because you have so little skills early in to depend on.
As for cheats/glitches, I really don't care- its your game, and if you want to, who am I to stop you? As long as you don't then gloat and brag all about your uber-glitched char, no skin off my back.
Personally, I like betting on arena matches, stealing and selling it to fences. Or, you could get a charm spell, persuade a general trader with low mercantilism, cast the spell, and haggle for your selling prices. That's what I did, and without the charm spell, I manage to get 80% of my selling price through- not bad for someone who was never much good at bartering.
