Today I've cleaned the house. And I HATE our @&#¤& vacuum cleaner,
and I think that it hates me too. The reason I put mysef through this is
that I get paid, which means I can buy a new computer! I haven't got that
much money left to make, so YAY!

I hear you. I hate all vacuum cleaners with a passion. They were all designed to be as loud and as obnoxious as possible to wake me up during a sound sleep. I swear one of these days im going to invent one thats silent.yeepo wrote: Today I've cleaned the house. And I HATE our @&#¤& vacuum cleaner,

Well I saw Angels and Demons today. Pretty good movie.
Then I basically spent 5 hours playing with my new iPod. Well, it isn't very new, my brother got a new one and I got the old one. But it's better than a Shuffle, IT HAS A SCREEN! Yay for me.
Oh, and BTW, I just had an earthquake. About, three minutes ago.

*Clears throat* Well, lets see here....
To date, my list of console breakdowns are:
.Playstation broke when I was little, got it sent overseas to get fixed. My fault, as I wasn't too careful with it. Age: 1 year
.Playstation broke again year later, though my stepdad got it working with no problems a few months ago. Age: 2 years
.GameCube got clogged with dust, again, sent overseas to be fixed. Age: 3-5 years or so.
.Playstation 2 video/audio plug broke (The one in the machine). Yet to be fixed. Age: 1 year (If you see the pattern, you'll know why I hate Sony
)
.Both of my Stepdad's Xbox’s (One he bought, the other he got in a phone deal thing) are suffering from dust clogging and now overheat quickly. Yet to be fixed. Age: Unknown
And the newest entry to the list, the one, the only, the.....
XBOX 360 Age: 8 months
Yes, the good ol' 360, and do you know what killed it? In short:
THE RED RING OF DEATH
In long, however, My Stepdad reckons that the little thing that reads the disc is jammed, most likely dust (I hate dust
) and thus the machine counts that as a "General hardware failure" or red ring time.
So, of all my consoles, the only ones that haven't broken for any reason are:
My Wii. But it's only about 1 year and 8 months old, so no surprise, but the one that is really shocking is:
The Nintendo 64.
The. Nintendo. 64.
The Nintendo 64.
The freaking 64 has lasted the most out of everything.
Nothing, I've had this since I was 6, so that’s a whopping 9-10 years that its lasted, and we've had no problems with it, aside from it sometimes overheating during summer, when I had been playing it for a while.
So, what’s going on? You'd hope that, as time goes on, system failures would become less and less, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, so my question to Microsoft and Sony (And to a lesser extent, Nintendo) is:
W.T.F
Why is this happening? And don't give me "It's a new console" because thats what testing teams are for, keep the freaking console in testing for longer before you release it and end up with an angry kid holding a baseball bat on your doorstep, its simple.
Also, what really bugged me is that I had no warning.
Here’s how my day my 360 broke went:
.Woke up
.Had breakfast
.Played Oblivion
.Went shopping for a while.
.Rented Pure for the night.
.Came home to play Pure
.Got confused that my 360 was not working
.Found out what the red ring meant.
.Had a hissy fit.
.talked it over with stepdad while reading warranty
.Had another hissy fit
.Switched Pure for Sonic and the Black Knight (Not that bad
)
In other words, it was working, then 3 hours later it died on me.
You know what? Screw it. Where’s my knife and map of Bill Gates mansion?

Huh. Cause what I noticed was that yesterday, Vargon chose to take a break from being a Mod, and Caz has stepped in. Whether or not Vargon ever feels like being one again I guess is up to him, and whoever are the current mods at that time, if it happens.Sublymonal wrote:...today I noticed Vargon has been demoted and Caz is now a moderator...
Huge diff between that and being "demoted".
Today I have a skin prob that's flared up. It's been gettin worse for nearly a week now, but today, all across the top of my left shoulder, and the back of my neck is burning. It feels like really really severe sunburn, even feels really hot when I touch it. But to look at it, you can't see anything. Good thing I don't have to be in an office today, where I'd need to be wearin clothes on that shoulder.
On the much brighter side, the sun came out today! Hip hip hip horay, the sun has got his hat on and he's comin out to play!
Indeed, Vargon voluntarily stepped down and Caz was asked to take his place. I'm sure you didn't mean anything by it, but it's best not to make assumptions like that.

My brother's down to visit for the week whilst I'm on vacation. We've been playing and writing music. We played for an audience of one earlier over Skype. Kinda weird playing for someone 4000+ miles away, but twas fun.
I just hope they enjoyed it.

Especially if it was a good friend, for them it's always nice to hear your work...

Now THAT is what I call a good days workLeilah wrote:I spent my day attempting to prepare for my theory of poetry exam next Monday but I have no idea whether I understand the work or not so I just gave up and watched TV.
I finished my history homework and printed it out right before I walked out the door, now I have to finish a paper I've been working on. Tomorrow I get to work all day on a presentation I haven't done much for yet cos I need to show my teacher how I'm getting along on Wednesday morning. When that presentation is over, I have to start on the next one. Will this ever end...?
