Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
By far the thing that annoys me the most.. are giants>_> at low levels they'll send you flying no problem.. but beyond that then it's rare and you can actually kill them off.
I wished they made it more tactical to fight them rather that "your dead". It still reinforces how powerful they are but allows quick melee fighters to still win at low levels.. given enough time and luck<_<

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
Sorry if this has already been mentioned, but gameplay and story segregation really freaking bugs me in skyrim.
An example that always makes me want to just stop playing is when i'm the Thane of Whiterun - a trusted advisor of the Jarls' court, and i already own a place in Whiterun. Yet when i defend my city in The Battle for Whiterun, he offers to allow me to buy a place in his city. Makes me pull my hair out man.

Strange fast travel glitches where I'll have NPCes randomly hitching a ride with me...though that more weirds me out than makes me angry, I guess. I once had the little girl from Riverwood get stranded on High Hrothgar.

Bears. Not only are they fast and deadly for low-level characters, they're everywhere! I can hardly walk five feet in the Rift without running into one!

It's not the speed and damage of bears that gets me, it's that they're so much louder than almost everything else in the game. I always want to mute my TV or PC when I find one.

Mostly that they somehow are able to bypass 100% immunity. Mostly when infected via traps.

They should, but they're still annoying. You have no idea how many times my assassin character has been mauled by bears.Br3admax wrote:Bears shouldn't be in their natural habitat?A Playa Named Gus wrote:Bears. The glitch that prevents wolves from making noises thus makes an already annoying creature even more annoying! Every damn attack has been a stealth one of recent by the [&@%!]! Damn wolves!

I find wolves pretty stealthy even with the sound on. Their howl gives them away but then I never know where the blighters are going to spring from.
The mudcrabs freak me out, I found some HUGE ones on a shipwreck.
What annoys me is that theres never anything exciting underwater, not even a weird rock, nothing. Id like a secret water tunnel or a shark or something.

Oh and you can't really do anything when underwater. Run into a few slaughterfish while exploring a sunken wreck? hope you can gtfo before you die D:

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
My biggest beef with this game iis how hard it to decorate my house(s). I don't want to get off on a Skyrim vs Oblivion rant here, BUT . . .
Why can you only grab an object one way? And it's usually upside down and backwards! In Oblivion, you could adjust an object in a near infinite number of ways. For 2 years I played on PS3. My 2nd floor library in Rosethorne Hall was imaculate. Arborwatch was a precisely placed treasure trove of places I'd been and things I'd done. The Imperial City Shack was a shrine to Sithis and the chaos I'd sown in His Unholy Name.
In Skyrim, I have become absolutely livid trying place a spiced wine bottle with the label facing the right way! Why did the physics manipulation have to change so drastically?
I CURSE YOU, HANDLED DWEMER CUP!

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
That is not a problem, in fact, its built into the game for them to automatically try moving out of your way, I don't use followers often, but the couple times when I should have been trapped, they moved out of the doorway a couple paces.cybrxkhan wrote:Not to many things [&@%!] me off, but I do find people - especially followers - standing in your way kind of annoying. I do have a mod which makes them walk out of the way, except it usually takes them about 15 seconds to do it.
You want to know what really grinds my gears?
Phlashiggin' quest items that actually weigh something, this lute that weighs 4 units will be in my inventory until I go through the Bard's guild?
I miss from Oblivion when they made quest items weightless, it was so much easier to manage all of those fetch quests because of it, then it's like they forgot the feature in F:NV and Skyrim.

And how about when NPCs follow you because they were chatting when you went into any other millions of cells in the game that they could've made one big immersive area? Who would care about loading screens when you only met between major cells like Skyrim and any city, dungeons and Skyrim?

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
Aren't quest items still weightless?
i think that the game tells you it has a weight (for example i think it says the elder scrolls have a weight of 20) but the number given isn't actually registered.

All that's changed is quest items now display having a weight.

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
From a real world perspective several things in Skyrim make me mad, firstly one of the buggiest triple A titles of 2011 received across the board 9/10 and 10/10 scores from reviewers even though it was full of game breaking obvious bugs that 1. Some basic play testing would have uncovered 2. In many cases appeared and were fixed in Oblivion or Fallout 3 before coming back in Skyrim.
Secondly, after releasing patches all the way up to 1.9 bugs that were reported at release, most prominently with hoods for the DB and TG and with the Quest "Blood on the Ice" still never got fixed. Thirdly, at one point we were promised a new Engine to replace the ageing Gamebryo, what we got was a low rent copy of said relic with the ability to give 1994 level randomised fetch quests, snow that A. was an obvious 2D effect B. had no collision of any kind (modders have been able to stop snow and rain going through outdoor roofs since Morrowind, WITHOUT effecting overall performance) C. rather then creating the banks of Snow we assumed we would see when Todd was going on about the "revolutionary" snow effects on the "new" engine, it renders an odd white film over the already low res textures. All the snow banks you see are totally static objects.
Combat is still floaty and all weapons feel blunt. Animations are still awkward looking. Water ice has no collision. You can loot ghosts clothes and weapons even though they should be Ethereal. Quest locations are sometimes half way across the map from the person giving the quest for no good reason, which is a big problem for people who like to avoid fast travelling.
In game, any time a Bard starts singing, oh, and Heimskr.

We don't know why they promised us things they didn't really mean, I thought Bethesda was cool until I knew better.Dunmerdude wrote:From a real world perspective several things in Skyrim make me mad, firstly one of the buggiest triple A titles of 2011 received across the board 9/10 and 10/10 scores from reviewers even though it was full of game breaking obvious bugs that 1. Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
I still think Skyrim is a great game, if a little too similar to Oblivion in many ways, and Bethsoft is still cooler then, say, Infinity Ward. I'm just annoyed at the wasted potential present, false promises made and inflated review scores for a game that was obviously still a beta on release. It seems every new game the Developers release has more serious bugs, did anyone ever try Fallout 3 on the PS3, the crashes are absurdly frequent, more so then on Xbox 360.

Re: What makes you mad in Skyrim?
Only one thing angers me in Skyrim: having to figure out how to get to the top of a mountain to do a quest. It's rare I find the actual route up so I usually do weird jumping techniques to scale a dang rock.

My Xbox is currently in the shop to get repaired and I am going crazzzzzzzzzy without it. It was having red ring of death issues and everytime I got to the end of a really long speech that you HAVE to listen to it would turn off or freeze B4 I could save. It was enfuriating! Almost forgot, I married my housecarl from Markarth, but I have not seen him since the wedding. So very maddening.
