I was thinking, and I was curious as to what the populous uses as far as weapons, and offensive fighting.

I perfeer bows with enchanted and poisoned arrows. One shot, dead.

Well, in the past I've played with all kinds of blades, from claymores to daggers. Currently, I'm using magic and plan to use a bow with poisoned arrows, too.

i use both bows and swords. i voted for swords though....

I chose bows, it is my biggest offensive weapon for the moment. If that doesn't complete the job; I will follow it up with either conjuration or destruction, and then use my mace for close combat. Should I need their soul a spell or my dagger work just fine. Eventually I'll make a better bow and hopefully collect souls with some of those one hit kills.

Blades for me. Currently trying to decide which enchantment to put on Jyggalg's sword.

I depends on the character. My nord warrior Skade prefers big blades and heavy armor. Umbra is her favorite weapon. She didn't pick up a bow until quite lately. Her pet mountain lion Grace is so kickass you wouldn't believe it.

My breton wench Brigitte likes all kinds of domination spells. If she can't charm the pants off people she meets she simply pulls her little poisoned blade and stabs them. (Serves them right insulting [&@%!]). Tough enemies are first attacked with bow and poisoned arrows. She will probably be my only char to do the Arena. She likes people to fawn all over her. The Adoring Fan will be a good pet.

Ms Sweetkill, a petite blond sexy imperial, prefers blunt weapons and they must look nice. The elven baton is her favorite and Samson the sentient axe is another good companion. Her pet minotaur Gullefjun isn't as tough as he looks. She's wondering how to get rid of him.

Zaknafein, the dark elf and my only male char so far, wields an elven scimitar (what else?) and collects all things elven. He's got a pet mountain lion too.

Tass Tass, the wood elf, is my youngest char and she is a pure archer. Hardly ever uses melee weapons at all. When it happens she prefers a magic shortsword. Her conjured beasts and pet timber wolf Uffe are good henches.

I just like to mix 'em all up, but it depends on the enemy: with big ass powerfull enemies I like to hit them with a spel first, then hit them with my staff of doom, and if they're still not dead I really like to put a sword in their guts till they can taste their own intestines! :twisted: :twisted: :twisted:

elven scimitar? could you post a picture?

I don't remember where he found that weapon. If it were in an Ayleid ruin, on a body or even in a shop. Zak is my 4th character and the previous ones have never seen that weapon. Possibly it's something that you find only when playing a dark or high elf.

I have lots of mods installed, including artifacts of Tamriel, but those finds usually have fancy names. This weapon has no specific name and it isn't enchanted. I think it is a race specific weapon and Zak was just lucky to find it early.

Also, there are no race specific items.

It has to come from a mod, but which mod. I think it looks kinda cool!

Well, maybe you are right. Main suspect is the OOO mod. The scimitar appeared after installation of that one.

I do have a thing for swords, but it al depends on my character at the time.

Overall, though...MAGIC FTW!

I had to go for bows because sniping pwns, but i think having one category for blades is not a good idea. I for example love katana's and daggers, but ain't much of a fan of shortswords for example...

I just hate that there's not a lot of variety in shapes of blades... You should be able to costumize your blade to your hearts content (maybe have to gather some items and money, but then be able to costumize it's look)

My main character Syrite, who is level 21, uses mostly blades with a bow to help increase his ability to take out enemies from a distance. One of my blades is an Elven Longsword called Quiet Soul of Purity, with 4 enchantments. Soul trap, silence, absorb health and fire damage both for 14 points. He also has a Dwarven Longsword called Frozen Leech,with 2 enchantments. Absorb Health and Frost damage for 15. And his last blade is a Glass Longsword called Soul Perturb of Astonish. This one does Turn Undead up to Level 20 for 2 seconds, Absorb health and Shock damage for 12 points, and has soul trap. I also have two other bows I carry with me. One just absorbs health, and does all elemental damage with soul trap. The other is for poisons. It gives 100% weakness to poison and magic.

that idea of weakness to poison is awesome, I had forgotten about that possibility. Now I know what to do for my new bow. Thanks ^^

Btw, a question: When you do X elemental damage for 1 second, the health doesn't come back after that 1second, does it? I know the question is n00bish, but the idea of it being like that just scared me
