dear fellow oblivionplayers, I've got a problem with the sanguine quest and i was wondering if anyone could help me. I'm already at the party i've got my spell prepared, but there are only 4 people sitting at that table and none of them is the countess. this might be an easy problem to solve, but i don't know what i should do. gr Mickistan |

What system are you on? If you're on PC, you can use the movetoplayer command to bring here there. But if not, I'd try waiting for 24 hours and trying again. She may have an AI package that cuts into the sit one on that day. Other than that, I really couldn't help you. |

If she's not there it can mean one of several things. It could be that she's out of town, visiting her mother in Chorrol on the day of her own dinner party and thus is unable to attend. The other guests will remain indefinitely so you can wait until she returns. She may also have left - she leaves at about 8pm so if you're there late then she won't be there with you. As long as the quest is enabled the guests will stay. On the wiki page there is a section on finding the Countess if she's missing - what I've said is there and more. Let us know if it works. Otherwise you'll have to go back to an earlier save and nobody likes doing that. |

Her bodyguard is in Leyawiin? If you've completed Adharji's Heirloom that more than likely means that she's died somewhere out there on the way back from Chorrol. It's either that or she's got stuck and is just wandering about trying to find her way back. I can only suggest waiting for a week or so then packing it in. It's a shame; if you were on the PC this'd be over in seconds. I feel your PS3 pain. |

The best way to avoid this annoying glitch is to complete the Sanguine shrine quest quickly after you complete the Thieves' Guild quest. Unfortunately, if try to complete the Sanguine quest first, then there's the chance that you'll never be able to complete the Thieves' Guild quest— when it comes time for you to sneak in and steal the ring, you'll find that the Countess is still so upset after the dinner party that she'll remain sitting at the table, stuffing her face 24/7. So, steal the ring first, finish that quest; then run all the way up to the Sanguine shrine to start off that quest before the Countess hits the road and gets herself slaughtered. |

Mickistan wrote: i might have killed the countess myself actually:P but thanks anyway Oooh. You can still do Hermeus Mora's quest, however. The All Powerful Wiki wrote: On Malacath:
If you go back to Bleaker's Way after you completed the quest and kill the remaining family members, you'll still get a message that everybody in Bleaker's Way died and that you've spoiled Mephala's scheme. This bug can be very useful to XBox360 and PS3 players who have no access to the command console and have been disqualified from Hermaeus Mora's quest by failing Malacath's or Namira's quests. When the erroneous quest update happens, the counter used to track completed Daedric shrine quests is incremented for a second time, and this will make up for a missing quest. However, the counter must be exactly 14 to trigger Hermaeus Mora's quest, so completing this quest twice in addition to the other 13 daedric quests will prevent it from starting. |

Okay, have you done Adharji's Heirloom? This will help me simplify matters - if you haven't done that quest, she's essential, so she's out there somewhere. Now, I don't know why everyone says the Countess leaves her party early: the dinner AI is pretty much above everything except her AI to put the ring away, and she should not go to Chorrol during the quest. Same with Adharji's Heirloom - despite what NPCs tell you, she doesn't leave town during the quest. Okay, since you can find her bodyguard - what does he do? Stand still? Try to leave the city? If he tries to leave the city, then follow him - he'll lead you to the Countess. But remeber, you can still have the quest count towards Hermaeus Mora by casting the spell on the guests that remain. You'll get no reward, however. Dark Spark - actually, I think that the permanently-eating Countess is a bit of a misunderstanding; her dinner AI will never become "invalid," so after the quest she'll remain eating from 6 to midnight. It's flagged "continue if PC is near," however. If one were to leave the castle at midnight, wait for an hour, and return, then she should be upstairs sleeping/putting the ring away. |
