Well I found this immediately, http://www.stumbleupon.com/su/3q5o4L/ww ... ml2bbcode/ ,by simply using "HTML to BBCode for free" as searchwords.

I'm not sure what it is, but better safe, I think, so I'll lock the thread. Someone wiser than me may decide further. :? I don't see I would have the evidence to ban the user.

There was earlier a similar type of request concerning BBCode, and I found lots of answers by a simple Google search, just like now.

I think it's probably one of those persons looking for something, but not knowing how to look for it. The YouTube channel is real.

I've decided to do nothing, except a reply.

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=19792&p=333418#p333418

But thanks, Jeff. We need eyes and ears. :D

I got a reply, and an appearance in Welcomes and Goodbyes. I can only conclude it is a physical person. It now has the rights of Confirmed Users. We don't have to like them all, but they still have their rights?

Yeah, Probably not the best place to post... I didn't actually think it was a bot, was just bringing it to someones attention, as potential spam, advertising, wanting hits on their YouTube. I did see where they had made another post too.

Still getting used to the newish policies and procedures, and not be Moddishlikes, and going thru the proper channels... not stepping on the current Mods toes, (or starting arguments). Being a previous mod, old habbits are hard to break.

No problems whatsoever, Jeff. And my skills in these areas are... eh... quite modest. I don't mind if someone steps on my toes but, I would of course prefer the stay is short. :D

Glad to oblige, Andere... YeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhTHUD! Gotcha! Ooh. Come up like a pudding, has it? :Twisted Evil:

Still sitting on over 70 spambot kills (I lost count). Shows what happens when you trawl through the member list and spot the ones everyone else missed for months. They all had 0 posts but blatant advertising in their profile fields and even in their sigs. These were all dormant spambots or spammers, so I stamped their tickets!

Tip: If you're unsure about a new member, check their profile. It's usually a dead giveaway. And you needn't wait for them to post. Use the Members link at the top of any forum page and sort by Website, descending.

Here's one I just spotted. Joined 2 days ago, 0 posts, and Website link advertises "Nail fungus cures that work". Yuk! Take a look, because the banhammer comes down later today. Don't anyone beat me to it because it's my birthday (I'm now 49) and that spambot is my prezzie. Whee!

May not seem like it, but this is a spambot.

Basically, it takes the name of the sub-forum and adds it into it's question. If you bring common sense in, a game full of violence, mature content and the occasional innuendo, could never be used to teach people in any form or sense.

I think this may be
because, I tried some of the links, and they don't work. I don't recognize any of the usernames either.

I'm almost sure it's a spammie.

All the links are from another forum. Don't know what one, but since he's trying to link to a fair amount of outer-forum users, he's probably advertising them. Plus he it put it in the Arena sub-form, and I've seen a few obvious Spambots put posts there.

Why do you not delete spammy links on their userpages? If their ads continue to be on the site then their goal is pretty much achieved,

Think about it this way, if the user isn't active and there threads/posts deleted, how exactly is anyone going to come across them?

The only way you would is if you searched through the members list for members with no posts....and if that is so, well, you deserve to be conned.

True, but I imagine that users that have not edited ever and have spam links in their profile; their goal was not to do anything farthur than to add it to their website.

May not be, but the user name is really fishy. This guy.

Actually, the username sends you to the MAC website. Perhaps an advertising bot?
