Oh... it looks like a painting, it does. The rocks, I have to say, look like... rainbow moss with leeches and sponges.

Now that you mention it, yes they do. I'm particularly fond of the bridge and the tree/bush next to it... I think I'll make a few more of these when I get some good scenic shots later on. Something more doom and gloom could be pretty cool.

Sooooooooooo pretty. :) I love how Suran looks. The whole town is eyecandy, and this picture really does it justice.

Man, had a good session tonight. Joined up with the Imperial Cult down in Ebonheart, so got a quest to head up to Gnisis and get some muck. Deciding to take time and walk up there, I set out with some basic supplies and a willingness to explore. Made it about as far as Pelagiad before I needed to stop for the night, and as I'm approaching the town, I see a good photo op.
Spoiler:
Image
The quest seems off to a good start. Along the way, I traveled along the Foyada Mamaea, up to Ghostgate, where I experienced an Ash storm unfortunately, so Scribbane couldn't really see the grandeur of the structure. The storm lasted til I was up north of Ald'Ruhn, where I stopped and picked up some supplies. Well I got a bit turned about as I neared Gnisis and wound up near Khuul, where I spent the night. The next day however, I stumbled across an Ashlander camp in the area. Somehow I managed to take on 3 of the buggers and win. See me here celebrating my victory.
Spoiler:

Things were going good, until I decided to see if I could be of any help to this poor fellow in the boat:
Spoiler:
Image
I thought maybe he had somebody I could talk to inside, hoping that as a monk, I wouldn't be attacked on sight. Unfortunately, I found no survivor's and had to beat a hasty retreat thanks to this monster:
Spoiler:

I finally made it to Gnisis after 3 days of travel, combat, and minor cave exploration. I tried to help whoever I could along the way, but few people travel the roads and I can see why. Luckily 17 more scribs lay dead after a vicious thumping from my staff.

That looks fantastic Dean, I must say, certainly the beauty of Morrowind captured on canvas there. Certainly goes to show, along with the other screenies here, that 10 years on, Morrowind is looking really great in 2012.

This are some cool pictures, scrib, but the edges look kind of... off.

I'm not sure what you mean. Like the edge of the picture looks "off"?

@Scrib: Nice photos there man, I haven't seen vanilla Morrowind in such a long time... still looks absolutely beautiful even to this day. It's quite funny seeing you with a super powerful staff, yet wearing the starter clothes, aha!

Thanks mate, I agree with you on the ageing well. I'd love to get my hands on MGE... oh how I would indeed.

Always loved Suran. I'm not normally a fan of Hlaalu towns, but there is something about the Suran area that appeals to me... such a pretty place.

Oh, and Umbra is also there. Love that guy, such a great addition to the game.

Haha yeah. My character is actually pretty modest, preferring not to live super luxuriously, so I've only paid for one staff (the silver one I started out with), but took the Daedric staff as a "gift" for telling about a mine (trying not to spoil too much for those who don't know). I've been looking for some magically gear maybe, something like intervention rings, but I won't buy nicer clothes just for the sake of them being nicer. Doesn't fit the character. I found a load of gemstones in a chest, and dropped them off at the nearest Imperial Cult altar as a donation. I've no need for fancy things that aren't practical.

I actually tried to install MGE just for the distant landscapes, but I suppose I didn't do it right. I love the original graphics of the game. While I like some of the texture packs and overhauls I've seen, nothing does it quite like vanilla for me.

Like the jaggies on the roofs on the right in the first picture?

Ok I see what you mean. Actual edges in the picture as opposed to the edges of the shot. Yeah, I mean I guess that's what happens when they aren't smooth lines and I look at it from an angle. Really I just liked the sky and the shot of the town as dusk was falling. The Morrowind sky is just phenomenal at night.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Hey, speaking of visuals, what kind of performance do you get out of Morrowind, ya know, FPS and all?

Nice Scozzar. You know, I never did like the look of Dreugh helms, but my god do they suit Argonians or what?

I went on a trip to Khuul the other day, and found a place I haven't visited in ages, so I took a screenshot because I absolutely love it... I think most people will recognise this place. I totally forgot I had taken it till I was looking for my character screenshot and came across it:

Dean. Where. Is. THAT? I've never come across this place in all my Morrowind days. I know you said near Khuul, but give me a bit more than that haha. Also, I didn't think the beast races could wear helms.

It's North-West of Khuul on an Island. You can see this tiny island on the map, and it's the only one so you can't really get lost... I love these random little spots across Vvardenfell, makes it seem so real.

Oh and Beast races can wear open helms, closed ones on the other hand are a no-go.

Well, you learn something, or several new things, every day. Don't think I ever realized beast races could wear open helms. Oh the possibilities now.

Honestly, spears are so bloody good to play with I love them... not to mention how brilliant they look. Are these pictures of your Argonians adventure? good stuff, I like seeing what people have been up to.
