Hey everyone,

Maybe this is the wrong place to ask, but I recently received an offer from a random person to buy gold in Elder Scrolls Online. This was unexpected since I never spoke to the person before. He linked me to his reviews on Fiverr and Gamer Choice, and he seems pretty reputable.

It's pretty tempting to buy since the price is very cheap, but I'm very concerned about the legality and potential risks. Has anyone here had similar experiences or know the risks involved in buying gold from third-party sources? I'm a bit concerned it might even be a scam.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Buying gold for money is against the game's TOS. ZOS allows the purchase of Crowns for gold, but that doesn't mean it isn't a scam. You can go through a broker if you want to reduce that risk.

I would avoid buying any gold for real money, unless you want to risk getting permanently banned for it, and I would avoid buying any Crowns from any non-ZOS third-party websites for the same reason. Obviously, buying Crowns through Steam, or the Epic store, or ZOS themselves, is fine, but there are sites out there which sell gold and Crowns for real money and they are definitely not okay.
