Luada, Land of The Decaying Moon
Setting: This RP, LoDM for short, takes place in a world very much like our own, in that the continents, countries, seasons and the general climate are all very much the same or at least similar. The main differences between this world and our own are the fact that there is no sun, or at least no daylight, all the people have to measure the passage of the eternal night is the rise and fall of the moon. There is great magic in this world as well; it is integrated into everyday life in much the same way that modern technology is in almost every aspect of our own. But all of this, is nothing compared to the splendor to which your characters will find themselves in, you are in the Forbidden City, Jewel of Luada, and the heart of the earth itself if you will listen to the soothsayers. You have been summoned by letter, courier, spell or word of mouth, it all depends on how your character lived before this day. You stand in the Imperial Palace, in the throne room of Rienthas Lightwielder, current Emperor of the Syran Dynasty, the date is Moon’s Zenith 1, 1590 5E.

Calendar:
Hidden:
There are eight months in the Luadan calendar, Moon’s Birth, New Crescent, First Quarter, New Gibbous, Moon’s Zenith, Old Gibbous, Last Quarter, and Old Crescent. Each corresponding to the phase of the moon currently presiding, each phase last thirty nights exactly, and as such it is easy to measure the flow of time. There are one hundred twenty days in the Luadan calendar year however, the lifespans of each race are measured in the archaic human calendar of ages past, three hundred sixty five days as opposed to one hundred twenty. Many other races, the Sidhe specifically do not measure the flow of years as they are immortal and do not age. There are a few festivals, holidays, and dates of note, when such days occur I will post it, don’t worry about remembering them. Today, the first of Moon’s Zenith, is known as the day of Divine Magic, it is due to the fact on this day the force of Magic is strongest on the earth and the power of the moon is at its greatest.

Races: As with many other fantasy world’s there are many fantastical races with which the player may choose to become a part of, keep in mind there are no humans in this RP, they died out many millennia ago when the sun left the world. As such, the majority of the races left are quite inhuman in appearance and most importantly, they are usually much stronger than their predecessors.

Non-playable Races:
Humans:
Hidden:
The extinct race of men that was the very first species to reach sentience by their measure. According to legend they were masters of technology far beyond that of our current standards; however they were magickless, unable to perform even the simplest of spells if the legends hold true. They had little need for it however, for they more than made up for this lack with ingenuity, ferocity and skill. This short lived race of mammals once covered the entire world and dominated all of the other races, it is told by the faithful of Luna that the goddess cast them out for their subjugation of the children of the goddess, whatever the case they simply vanished, their technology and civilization along with them, no one who was alive at that time can ever remember what they looked like, only that they existed. They were said to have been anywhere from five to six feet in height, weigh as little as ninety to as much as two hundred pounds and come in a variety of colors, both in eye, hair and skin however their appearance was largely unadorned and looked like hairless apes.

The Celestials:
Hidden:
Image

The Divine children of Luna and Sol, the sole members of this race are the imperial bloodline of the Emperor himself, his ancestors and descendants. This race of lithe and beautiful people is blessed with the sacred light of the Goddess herself. They are largely human in appearance, but are a bit taller, standing at seven feet tall on average, weighing anywhere from one hundred forty to two hundred fifty pounds. They are largely lean, with toned physiques. Their skin is as pale as snow, their eyes are as gold as the purest aurumn and their hair can be a variety of colors but usually is silver. Their blood is golden ichor, where their divine powers are said to lie in wait. When the blood touches the ground it turns red, losing its divinity. They are highly skilled in most forms of magic, but their true power lies in their blood, they can act as gods, shifting storm patterns and destroying entire armies, but this power comes at a cost, their life force is weakened each time it is used and as such the rulers of the land often have shorter lives than those not currently presiding over the throne, the youngest ever recorded being 25 at his death, if left alone to ideal circumstances they can live for one thousand years. But most die at half that due to the nature of the world they live in.

Playable:

Dzárgs(Credits to ThelastDovah)

Hidden:
The Dzárgs are a dragonoid race hailing from the country of Dúris. They are typically between 8ft and 13ft. They have 3 or 4 fingers on each hands along with a set of retractable claws. Their wings are 3ft wide and 2ft tall. Their tails come in a variety of shapes. Some are forked. Some are straight. Some are curled and so forth. Their horns only come in three sizes. Short and round, medium sized and straight, Large and curved. Their skin consists of mainly scales and can be as tough as steel. The colour of their skin can vary. The most common is blue but it is not unsual to see a white Dzárg. Their eyes lack pupils and can be described as souless beasts. Their feet only have 3 toes and lack nails. They have the natural ability to take on the properties of any item or element provided it does not contain any magic and can only have one property at a time. Eg. taking on the properties of fire would result in a Dzárg being immune to fire and gain an firey aura but at the same time, they take on the weaknesses assiocated with fire.

Their society is a warrior society and it is said that they were mindless beasts before the Great Dragon taught them how to function as a society. He united the warring tribes and taught them to use their aggression against their enemies instead of each other. The first known sighting of Dzárgs was by the humans after a human warlord discovered one of their settlements on a near island and slaughtered them when they refused to bow down to her will. This caused the Dzárg council to declare war on the warlord and they dispatched just a mere 100 to destroy the humans.

The Humans numbered ten thousand but were no match against the Dzárg warriors. When word reached the nearest human king of the slaughter, he declared war on the Dzárgs and both races warred for 30 years. The Dzárgs were skilled warriors but ended up being outnumbered and ended up losing most of their terrority however, Dúris itself was never reached by the humans.

The Dzárgs simply outlasted the humans by waiting out the war. Their country was well fortified and the human ships were prone to suddenly having their hulls ripped opened by unknown means. The human king called off his forces after losing most of his navy in the 30th year and the Dzárgs brutally reclaimed their lands but did not pursue their enemy any further. Since then, they have kept to themselves mainly apart from the odd war with the other races but mainly out of defence.

However, recently, a tragedy occured in the captial of the Dúris. The sacred book of Dzárg was stolen. It is said to have been written by the Great Dragon and is said to contain the locations of powerful artifacts hidden by the ancient Dragons. The Priesthood of the Dzárg was found slaughtered and had fought to the death against their murderers. Without the book, the Dzárg society is at risk of being attacked from within. 2 days ago, it was discovered that the King's bodyguard had been involved with it and after a long period of torture, he revealed that it was a Dzárg by the name of Lúo.

Religon

Dzárgs don't follow any religon but worship the great dragon. The book of Dzárg offers guidance and is always changing. It has prevented kings declaring unneccessary wars, the council being dismissed and tyrants have been overthrown without destroying the balance of power.

Skills

Dzárgs are a warrior race. They train in all forms of combat as soon as they reach puberty and end up developing their natural ability to take on properties. At the age of 30, they focus on one or two schools of combat and are taught to never forgive, never surrender and to never show mercy.

Power structure.

The Dzárgs are ruled by a king or queen. The council is below the king/queen but the king must always discuss their plans with them and must gain the majority of the votes. The king also serves as the general of the Dzárg army whilst the council advise him. Priests teach the children in the morals of a warrior and how to eradicate fear from a young age. Every job is tailored towards helping warriors or being a warrior. Those that refuse to train or to aid the cause are exiled and are forbidden to share the secrets of Dzárgs. Exiled Dzárgs are shown in the book of Dzárg and are hunted down if they share any secrets.

Other

Dzárgs are unforgiving to their enemies. They never back down and show no mercy. They can live up to 400 years and view death as an honour provided it is in battle. It is common to see elderly Dzárgs fight to the death in one of the country's arenas or to travel the world seeking their death before age or illness claims them. To say one is not worthy of death via combat is the greatest insult they have.

Muunrae(credits to The-Shadow-One):
Muunrae:
Muunrae(pronounced Moonray) (singular – Muurai(pronounced Mur-eye))
Where others evolve and adapt into unhuman atrocities the Muunrae remained the same. Largely for the most part. A Muurai is as diverse in looks as anything, often they hold something bestial about their appearance, maybe how they hold themselves, their eyes being like an animals or skin taking on the appearance of feathers or fur or scales in some places.
As with other races the Muunrae hold their own in this nightfilled world. The Muunrae are people who can change their form, not unlike shapeshifters, however their forms change into many rather than one. For example one Muurai may become a flock of twenty ravens, or even a thousand venomous snakes. This is called their Changing. Often a Muurai’s Changing shows around the time they manifest into puberty, and are not limited to family blood.
One thing to note about their Changing is that their eyes and senses are all connected, if one of the bodies die, the Muurai feels a void until they gain enough essence (gathered by consumption of flesh or blood.) from which a new body can be created.
There are five main families, each of their own have their different lines of magic in addition to their Changing.
  • De Roslae – De Roslae are best known for their notoriously spiked and rough skin, however they are able to control when their skin is spiked and when it is not.
  • Panuse – Panuse are the literal puppeteers. They are able to produce and control strings from their bodies.
  • Reilon – Reilon have the ability to project themselves spiritually as well as being able to see souls.
  • Hejin – Hejin are often covered in metal, and as such have great capability with using metal as a weapon
  • Wanjang – Wanjang are noted for being skilled in manufacturing, mainly toys. As such they are rarely seen without toys on their person, able to control and utilise them.
There are rare instances of people being without a family or a familial ability
The Muunrae hail originally from an island nation (Australia-eraz) far to the south, reaching Luada and the Island of Souls through various avian and aquatic Changings.
Relationships
The Celestials – Frosty as most Muunrae consider them to be ‘upstart little snotrugs’
Sidhe – Fairly good relations, Sidhe are welcome often in a Muurai’s house.
Demons – A different cousin they are considered to be corrupted versions of Muunrae.
Shifts – Not close with due to the toxicity of their blood, that won’t stop a Muurai trying to feast upon the flesh when they find a Shift on their own.

Sidhe:
Hidden:
Image

The Sidhe are a diminutive race, usually standing at just at or under seven inches tall. They have insectoid wings and antennae but are also largely humanoid in appearance, their skin is usually blue but can be any color, their eyes have no pupils but radiate power which shows itself in a single color. They are a race of immortals, except in war or heartbreak, which are highly secretive both about their origins and history, with powerful magic they have been said to travel across time, warp entire generations of people and created the powerful barrier that surrounds their coral city barring all uninvited entry. The largest weakness of this race is that they are simply weak physically; they can be killed by the lightest of blows if they manage to hit the mark. But their virtues are quite powerful, apart from being immortal they are nigh immune to harmful magic, and are highly attuned to the mystic arts themselves. They hail from a single place, the lake of mirrors high in the mountains in the west, it is unknown how many Sidhe there are as many leave their home and never return, preferring to travel the world. In personality, most are care free and childish in nature, but there are exceptions to this rule, some become hardened by the world and lose this part of their nature.

Demons:

Demons are a race of shapeshifters that make up the majority of Luada’s population. They all belong to clans, based upon the animal spirit they have closest ties to. Originally it is said that the first demons were born from humans who either lost themselves to their ambitions signing their souls over to dark spirits for power, or lost themselves to the beast of greed within them. All demons trace their lineage back to the first of their clan, who was the strongest in their bloodline. Their appearance can vary drastically, most take the forms of humans with traits of their animal spirit, but their most powerful form is usually found more closely to their bestial side, manifesting this power they shift to a more or less full beast, allowing them usually some manner of flight and greater use of their magic. Their magic is based on their animal spirit, for example moth demons are gifted in nature manipulation and poisons, wolf demons are skilled in ice manipulation and often have powerful claw attacks, bat demons are skilled with darkness and sound manipulation, but all of these spells are very much on a “by case” basis, demonic blood often chooses to manifest itself in many ways and it is difficult to gauge them. Demons mature up to a point and stop, usually in their mid twenties by human standards, however they eventually can die of old age, their animal spirit ages even if their body does not so they usually die at the old age of five hundred or so under ideal circumstances.
The country itself is ruled by the ten highest ranked demon clans, divided into territories by virtue of the animal spirits they possess, all pay homage to the emperor and obey his few commands, lest they face the wrath of divine judgment.. They are, in order from strongest to weakest and west to east: Dragon, Tiger, Lion, Wolf, Tortoise, Oni, Moth, Snake, Fox, and Spider.

Shifts:
Hidden:

Hidden:

Shifts also known as the people beyond the veil are a race of mysterious and melancholy shadow warriors. They are the second oldest race on the earth, born only just after the first humans, legend has it that when the first human died the first shift was born. In appearance they are often ashen skinned, with bright blue, or gold eyes, but have a strange biology, shifts age dramatically with time. Whilst they do not age to death, they age to a point where their body becomes immobile and exist in a state known as Ratha, or corpse in their tongue. They start out as almost human in appearance but as time goes on, usually over the course of many centuries they become more and more corpse like, looking very much like the living dead when they are older. The Shift are ancestor worshippers, having great reverence for the dead of all races, they often travel to the netherworld in their lives, being able to enter the land of the dead during times of distress, they can breathe life into another being once in their life to bring them back to life. Currently they are one of the rarest races of all on Luada, it was not always so however. There was an attempt led by a clan of shifts to overthrow the emperor and assassinate him, as punishment for their actions the hills of the north ran black with Shift blood. Many commoners harbor a bitter resentment for the shifts and vice versa, often they are treated with cold indifference at best and outright hostility is much more common.
As a race, they are highly skilled in the magic of shadows OR death, either becoming one with the shadows that fill the world of no sun, or one with the world of death that lies beyond the veil, depending on birth they are divided into one of two clans at birth, the clan of sorrow(death) or the clan of vengeance(shadows). It is often that one’s magic is different from their parents and as such there is no real familial structure among the shifts. Clan is family, not birth parents. They hail from the land to the north of Luada, Yundra. There is a great barrier separating the two since the incident, erected by the late Empress Syra as her last act.
Magic:
Hidden:
Magic is the divine essence left by the Goddess for her children as her last gift before returning to the heavens, forever. The purest, most unaltered form of this resides in the blood of the Imperial family, but it lives within all of the mortal races, some are unaware of it but it flows through all things, the rocks, trees, soil and air, all things living and dead have magic within them, flowing through one life to another as easily as the wind flows through the air. Magic that is used by most mortals has been divided into two categories, traditional and bloodline magic.
Bloodline Magic, is the form of magic most readily available to most who have not dedicated themselves to the craft in some form, this magic is simply the instinctive magic for specific races, there is no medium required to use this magic save one’s own body. Each race has specific abilities, which are detailed below:

Spoiler:
Celestials: Their racial ability is known as God’s Blood, by calling upon the sacred light that flows in their veins they are able to ascend to Godhood for a short time, however the heavy cost of such power means that it is used only rarely and never casually. It shortens the lifespan greatly each time it is used, the greatest spells such as stopping meteors, tsunamis, eruptions, or destroying plagues can kill the user. Anything is within reach with this power, the only limit being the amount of light available to the user and their will.

Sidhe: The Sidhe are known to be great agents of change, as such their racial power manifests itself in their natural ability to affect the non-living things around them, they can create artificial constructs like golems, create powerful barriers, cast great illusions and heal tainted land and waters. They are responsible for many of the great barriers around sacred forests and cities, often lasting for thousands of years. They have created many magical weapons and artifacts over the years, the older the sidhe the more powerful their enchantments. The main limitation of this ability is that they cannot truly create something, only change it, but change can mean many things, changing iron into a blade, or lead into gold is all possible for Sidhe.
Demons: Demons as the children of darkness can call on many different abilities, each bound to their specific clan, since there are hundreds of clans it would be both exhausting and time consuming to list them all. However, for simplicities sake, lets just assume that they by virtue of their shape shifting are able to manifest parts of themselves that take the form of animals, for example a moth demon could manifest his or her wings, the poison powder from these wings and other such abilities, there is a lot of freedom with this and as long as you can make it make sense I will allow it. Go nuts, but please no reality shifting, godhooding nigh unbeatable characters.
Shift Magic: Shift bloodlines are divided even further into two classes, Sorrows or Vengeance.

Sorrows or death magic: Death magic is what implies, largely necromancy and soul manipulation, keep in mind this only applies to the dead, not the living, one cannot steal the souls of someone still alive and likewise, someone cannot simply will the death of another. However one can age them to the point of death, one can reanimate their corpse and their ultimate ability, revival can be used once in a lifetime to bring back a single dead person.
Vengeance, or shadow magic: This is the magic that gives Shifts their reputation as shadow warriors, shadow magic allows Shifts to travel through all shadows that are linked, and in a world of eternal night, that is a lot of area. The can manipulate darkness to cloak them, muffle their footsteps and bend light around themselves to become invisible. They can see in the darkest darkness, use the shadows as weapons, and call on darkness elementals to aid them, if they wish to comply.

Traditional magic:
Spoiler:
Traditional magic is far more difficult to master and takes years of practice and study, but it is attainable by most with sufficient will. To use traditional magic one has to use a medium of some kind, a song, sutras, chants, arts, or any form of self expression. Traditional magic requires mastery over one’s own soul to call upon the ambient magic all around, the most common application of this magic is less combat based, usually seals, curses and enchantments. It is possible to use such magic in combat however, for example, one could create an incantation to be used for a fire spell for example:
“fire hear my voice, fire obey my words, fire reach from within, fire strike my foes!” The end result of a short incantation such as that would likely be a simple fireball.

Masters of this magic usually are able to get more out of short incantations but as a general rule, the longer and more heartfelt the incantation, the more powerful the spell. But remember, not all spells need to be made from words. Body language, and visual expression are just as powerful. So get creative! The applications of this are as limitless as your imagination, just try to make your use “fit” your character. An evil sorcerer probably should not be casting spells to ward against unholy spirits, and like wise a goodly monk would not likely be using necromancy or curses.

Culture:
Spoiler:
As this is more of an original world RP than an alternate earth and it is very much in the bare bones stage at this point, culture is largely undefined. Far east asian culture is the main inspiration for the culture of Luada, but that is not the same for the rest of the world, while this RP will solely take place in this large land, that is not the entirety of this world it is simply the focus. The culture of Luada is supposedly Celestial in origin but it is simply a copy of the humans that once occupied this territory ages ago. Much of what the Celestials based their culture on is kept in the catacombs beneath the Forbidden City. Pretty much, as far as cultural norms go just keep a few things in mind and you will be fine:
1.) You can never be too ornate: Luadan culture or at least the time period the author is drawing from, was extremely ornate and some would say decadent (for nobles, commonfolk were SOL but that isn’t important.. <.<). As such, fine silk garbs, colorful robes, ceremonial armors and personal hygiene were very much a symbol of status. To cut a man’s beard was punishable by having the limb used to cut it removed in some cases. So fashion < function.

2.) Always appear to be at worst, indifferent: Etiquette is strict in Luada, making a scene in public and/or insulting someone publicly is HIGHLY frowned upon. Subtlety is more appreciate than garish confrontation, if you have a problem with someone it is not usually a good idea to let on in public about it. Confront them privately and discretely, never openly accuse anyone of anything without irrefutable evidence. Unless of course you want to play that kind of character, these are expectations of society, which we all know, are easily broken.

3.) Family is important: Your characters should hail from a family of some kind, whether they are alive or not is of no consequence, but your family will talk for you in the sense that people will presume much about you based upon the clan you are from. Your actions will reflect on all your family members for good or ill, keep that in mind. If you are truly clanless, then you will be seen as an oddity and likely held at an arms length.

Apart from these things, just try to have fun with it and feel free to break any or all of these expectations, maybe it will work out for you! But really, it won’t.

Religion:
Spoiler:
Most in the Empire worship Celestial spirits and ancestors, with Luna the Goddess of the Moon and Sol the dead God of the Sun being the two leaders of the pantheon. All ancestors, good and evil have a place of worship though, most people focus more on the ancestors of their clan as they are closer to them. But Luna always receives a portion of the offering.
There are monasteries and temples where priests, monks and nuns are trained in the art of combat, enlightenment and the general detachment from the world. Often these places are in high altitude areas where they are closest to the moon. Monks, Sages and Priests usually train in traditional magic here to some degree.
Some worship no gods, while all know of the gods, some simply prefer not to spend their lives worrying about beings that usually show no any interest in them.
There are a few cults that worship the Emperor and his bloodline as Gods, though this is not common and the Emperor has repeatedly said he is not a God, merely the servant of one.
There are literally thousands of celestial beings, and many of which live on Earth themselves in the wild places.

Places:
Spoiler:
While I have no map and no serious plans to make one, I would like to make a list of some places to familiarize yourselves with so that so when they are mentioned, you have something to call upon.

The Lake of Mirrors: Home of the Sidhe, this lake lies far to the west in the territory of the Dragon demons, atop a flat mountain there is a deep, cold lake, which at the bottom of which is a large coral city, the city is large even by the standards of men. There are said to be millions of Sidhe here. The lake cannot be entered by anyone who was not invited, indeed, the lake is shrouded by an impregnable fog that obscures it from the eyes of the unworthy.
Hidden:
Image

The Country of Yundra(*cough*Mongolia*cough*): Is a land north of Luada, this is the homeland of the Shifts or at least where most of them are from as they are said to be originally from the netherworld itself. This land is largely barren and a poor place for most life forms, the hardy Shifts have the land split right down the middle, the nomadic clan of Vengeance has one half and the settled clan of shadows has the east half. Currently it is impossible to enter or leave the country due to the barrier surrounding it, it was erected by the previous Empress, Syra in an attempt to keep the invaders from the south, all of those outside the barrier are now barred from their homeland and all those within are now trapped inside it. The barrier has only been erected for fifty years but still, many of the nomadic Shifts made their livelihoods trading with other provinces, this has put a serious strain on their lifestyles.

The Forbidden City: The largest city in Luada, home to the emperor, his nobles and many commonfolk, the only “forbidden” part of the city is the palace which has guards at every exit, on the battlements, and it is surrounded by a powerful Sidhe barrier placed by the Queen herself. The city is divided into five districts, from the outermost to the palace at the heart, each is separated by a wall, the farther from the palace the more impoverished the district. Starting from the center they are: Moon District, Silver District, Mist District, Rain District and Earth District (called Dirt district as a derogatory name)

Moon District:This is home to the crystal Palace with the Emperor and his family living inside, very few are allowed here and only by invitation of the emperor is anyone allowed to enter.
Hidden:
Image

The Silver District: A largely residential area of the city, where the nobles, clergy, warriors and people of wealth make their home, apart from the homes there are also several restaurants and a temple to the Gods, with the Great Moon Goddess statue at the central dias.

The Mist District: This district gets its name from the thick fog that rises from the river flowing through the center, the water is clean and kept clear of insects and pests. This area is where the middle class shop keepers, merchants, traders and business owners live, there are also two guild halls here, the Red Legion and the Tylsae both have guild halls here. Apart from the homes there are a few higher end shops here which mostly cater in luxury goods such as perfumes, fine clothing and furniture. Several artists also make their homes here as well to take advantage of the cross between high and low class.

Rain District: This is the market district, where most of the merchants set up shop and where the majority of the population spends their days, beggars with passes can enter to beg here but those without must stay in the Earth District, the market is largely safe due to the guard patrols but there is always the danger of pickpockets and thieves, but the murder rate is relatively low.

The Earth District: The largest and most populous district that is just behind the outer wall, the poor and lower class citizens make their home here, and while it is safe during the day there is few people on the streets at night, brutes, thieves and cutthroats roam largely with impunity. The Guild of Thieves known as the Nighthawks does keep some order here, causing heavy punishments for any unsanctioned murders, but they can’t catch all the murderers and they only have power over their members.

The Dragonspines: A range of mountains on the south western edge of the country, these mountains are home to the dragon demons and they maintain the territories here, as the most powerful demon clan it is speculated that the emperor keeps them as far from himself as possible and to guard their southern border.

Territories: Each of the Ten Demon Territories has a capital city, due to the nature of the power struggle the cities are usually renamed after each successful conquest:

1.) Dragon: Ryu’jiin
2.) Tiger: Fallen Rock City
3.) Lion: City of the Roaring Winds
4.) Wolf: City of Falling Snow
5.) Tortoise: Rin’ruei
6.) Oni (ogre): City under the Mountain
7.) Moth: City of Shimmering Trees
8.) Snake: City in the Grass
9.) Fox: City of Smoke
10.) Spider: City of Glittering Webs
Note some of these cities are more akin to villages

There are several towns and settlements that will be detailed as you encounter them, generally assume that there are coastal towns and villages aplenty but in the more arid regions settlements are far more spread apart. Detailing each one however would be long and arduous and also of little consequence since like as not this RP is linear, not open world.

People of note:
Spoiler:
Emperor Rienthas Lightwielder: Current monarch blessed by heaven and leader of Luada, this relatively young Celestial has established himself firmly as a just but kind ruler, allowing his heart to guide him more than anything else. Some argue that his softness is what has allowed for the crime rate in recent years to grow higher but this could be attributed to many factors. His word is law and absolute, so he exercises his power in moderation.

Hidden:
Image

Prince Valadrir Sun-Blooded: Only son of Rienthas and heir to the Lunar Throne. The Prince is characterized by his kind heart and carefree nature, he is a bit naïve but this is common among noble youth, since his mother’s death his father has been very protective of the boy, sheltering being the conservative way of putting it. The boy has never been outside of the Lunar District, and usually is not allowed to leave the palace. He is tutored by the finest teachers and even at the tender age of twenty two he has already proven to be a master of traditional magic.

Hidden:
Image

Queen Morrowyn of the Coral Palace: Queen Morrowyn is the current high queen of the Sidhe. Ruling over her kingdom beneath the waters of the Lake of Mirrors, Morrowyn is known for her strange mannerisms, even amongst the Sidhe. She is known as being “attuned to many things at once” usually meaning that she appears wistful and spread thin, at the age of three thousand she is young for a Sidhe ruler though not the youngest, most Sidhe rulers are not even considered until five thousand years, but she was chosen by the heavens themselves.

Hidden:
Image

King Astraol Consort to Morrowyn: Astraol is the High King Consort to the Queen of the Sidhe, when the previous ruler of the Sidhe left this world, it was left to the heavens to decide who the next ruler would be. For twenty days and twenty nights the priests and priestesses of the Sidhe called to the heavens, asking them for a sign, and on the twentieth night at the stroke of midnight on the night of a lunar eclipse, a star fell from the sky, landing in the lake. Despite this there was no crater where the star fell, when people came to investigate they found Astraol who only muttered one word, “Morrowyn”. Satisfied, the people chose the Queen that very night. Astraol is the celestial spirit of the north star.

Blessed with eternal youth by the ancestor spirits of the Shifts, Kikyo has been the High Priestess for over two thousand years. She keeps in contact with the emperor and has beseeched him to lift the barrier, which he has said he will only do if the Clan of Vengeance lays down their arms, which she has no power to make them do.

Lady Toshiko Ryusei: Demon Lord of the Dragon Clan of demons. Toshiko is the most powerful demon alive today and because of this her clan has been the leader of all others for the last ten thousand years. Lord Taigra Flame-Fang: Demon Lord of the Tiger Clan of demons. Taigra is well known for his ferocity in battle and through unrelenting force he has climbed his way from humble beginnings to reach his current status as the second most powerful of the Demon Lords. He has designs on Toshiko’s Clan, however even he recognizes the power of the first clan. He clashes often with the Lion Clan’s leader, Regolas. He is a skilled warrior but a poor tactician, he has a penchant for having battles with the highest mortality rate on both sides. He tends to spend most time in his awakened form, pictured below.

Lord Agthus the Wise: Demon Lord of the Wolf Clan of Demons. Lord Agthus, despite his middling rank among the Demon Lords, is in fact one of the strongest individual demons, his clan however is not powerful enough to back the claim and thus he is trapped in his current rank. Lady Kamirsu The Strong: Demon Lord of the Oni Demon Clan. She has a fiery temper like all of her clan and wields a blunt weapon in typical ogre fashion, she is one of the few demons who cannot shapeshift, rumor has it that she is only half Ogre, but these rumors have never been allowed to be explored by Kamirsu.

Lord Linryu The Mysterious: Demon Lord of the Moth Demon Clan. It is unknown how Linryu became leader of the Moth Clan, and it is unknown how he went about garnering his rank as Seventh among the Demon Lords. His powers have never been witnessed, he has never directly engaged any foe in battle, it is suspected he is a powerful Sage capable of magic beyond any other save the Celestials. He rarely manifests himself in any form, preferring to remain as a massive swarm of lunar moths living in his home forest of the Shimmering Trees. His clan speaks highly of him, they receive his orders directly through a hive-mind system. He has the smallest awakened form of any Demon Lord, standing at only eight feet tall.

Prejudices and Laws:
Spoiler:
Things to remember, while there is no law against homosexual relations, most if not all men and women are expected to bear offspring, as such most people and all nobles will marry a member of the opposite sex if only to bear offspring. Such arrangements are often prearranged and are more businesslike than spiritual. Men can marry men, and women can marry women however, this is usually the second marriage in the event someone’s spouse dies prematurely.

Polygamy is not only accepted, but encouraged, though having more than one wife (or husband) is often a privilege reserved for nobles. Many nobles have a main spouse with concubines on the side for sexual purposes, or in the case of some, to protect from enemies. This is true for all of the races except for the Sidhe who only marry out of true love.

Sidhe Marriages: The Sidhe mate often but marry only rarely, this is due to the nature of Sidhe immortality, to give your heart to someone in marriage is seen as the ultimate act of trust. If a Sidhe has its heart broken, they will die a most horrible death. Sidhe marriages can be homosexual and heterosexual since no one has a choice in who they love.

The only racial prejudices in terms of mistreatment are among the Shifts and the other races respectively, the Shifts are often treated as outcasts among the people of Luada due to their attempted coup of the emperor years ago. The Shifts, in return are hostile right back to their oppressors, there have been a number of incidents over the years that have lead to purges in worse case scenarios.
However here are some stereotypes to remember:

Demons, are often seen as animalistic and only have a thin line separating them from their dark side, in other provinces this stereotype is more pronounced, but since there are more demons in Luada than any other race they receive little in the way of prejudice openly Most prejudice comes from other demons as opposed to the minorities.

Sidhe can often be seen as haughty due to the nature of their society. They rarely speak their mind openly and only speak when necessary since they cannot lie. They are also seen as weaklings, due to the fact that their people remain neutral to threats to Luada and are physically inept.

Celestials are rarely stigmatized since they are the divine offspring of the Goddess, they are more often envied and idolized rather than hated. This is true except from the Shifts, who view them as oppressors determined to keep all enemies at an arms length.
Males and Females are considered equals in Luadan society. Gender roles however, generally are the same as Asian culture. The husband is the provider normally, while the wife manages the household, meaning the finances and resources as well. Young girls are often schooled in reading, writing, math, and healing to aid in this. This is true of Celestials and Demons.
The Sidhe and Shifts by contrast have no real gender roles, they are free spirited people who generally believe that one should follow their own heart so long as they honor their people in doing so.

Character Building: The character sheet for this RP is a bit detailed, especially considering that this is a linear, plot-based RP, rather than an open world one. Here is the Sheet below, I will dissect it in an attempt to make it easier for you to fill in. The more detail the better, and I will try to be lenient:

Misc. Facts:

GUIDE:
Spoiler:
Name: [This one should be fairly self explanatory. Choose more fantasy like names, but add eastern elements. For example, I use the first name as something more eastern with the last name as something more Fantasy for example: Rin Soulweaver, Kai Iron-handed, Ryugai Sunspeaker , etc… Basically, an eastern first name and a title. This can be a family name but does not have to be, most surnames in Luadan society are earned, not ones you are born with. Honestly if you make it either fantasy OR eastern you should be fine, but no western names UNLESS your character hails from far away lands.]
Race:[one of the races listed above, or, with my expressly written approval, a race you have made up yourself from a distant land.]
Age: [>200]
Gender: [some demons could potentially be hermaphrodites, such as snails, so if its not applicable just put N/A]
Appearance:[ a short description and a picture are preferred, if no image is used be VERY descriptive]
Personality:[the general way the character carries themselves, you can put something about secret desires too if you like]
History:[ the history of the character and you can include something about their family’s history if you like as well]
Blood Abilities:[for Sidhe, put Sidhe Enchantment, for Shifts, put Sorrows for Death or Vengeance for Shadow magic, and for Demons, put two abilities relating to your animal spirit, such as fire manipulation, enhanced speed, blade manifestation, etc… and shapeshifting. Be creative, theres a lot of room for interpretation. For Demons please only include one element if you choose to manipulate them, not general element manipulation.]
Traditional Magic Type:[ This one is a bit complicated. Due to the difficult nature of traditional magic, I do not really expect nor want every character to have skills in this area, you have to give your character a REASON to have this skill. If you justify it, put the way they use their magic, for simplicities sake I will limit it to: Physical expression (handsigns, gestures, or dancing), Written Expression (writing poetry, sutras, or enchantments), Visual expression (painting, drawing, or sculpting(which includes tailoring and blacksmithing)) or Spoken expression (Prayers, Songs, Speeches, Incantations, Invocations, and any form of speaking really) So basically, Just put what way your character expresses themselves best in the slot, Physical, Written, Visual, or Spoken Expression]
Skills: [These are your non-magical skills, such as combat skills, personal skills, and levels of experience in other areas, this can also be a slot for non magical abilities]
Possessions:[ What your character owns, and include what they have on them, their money, and what is in storage/not on their person]
Position within society:[Basically, what level in society they are. Wealthy, Middle Class, or Poor, also if they are clergymen, nobles, warriors, beggars, artisans, etc… basically how much money they have and their “job”]
Misc. Facts:[things that don’t belong anywhere else, organizations they belong to, hobbies, quirks, what they are afraid of, why they are in Luada, who they love, favorite food, and anything else you care to mention]
Relationships:
PC Or NPC: [are they an NPC or another Player character]
Name:[their name. Obviously]
Age: [how long they have been out of their mother’s birth canal]
Race:[…]
Short Descript.:[What they look like, what they act like, what kind of person they are, etc… be as vague or as descriptive as you like, just know I will take creative liberties with undefined characters]
Relation to PC:[how they know your character, if theyre the characters Gynecologist for example, put that]

Unionhack as Mizu Sea-Song:

Hidden:
Name: Mizu Sea-Song
Race: Sidhe
Age: Lost Count: Approximately 350
Gender: Female
Appearance: Mizu's skin and hair are varying shades of blue. Her skin is a pale blue, almost white, while her hair is a dark shade of blue, nearly black. Her eyes are a monotone deep blue, and her glowing insectoid wings are a pale blue.

Mizu is dressed in simple clothes, namely a short white dress with black gloves and black thigh socks that end just short enough to expose the skin of her upper thighs.
Personality: Mizu is quite condescending and jeering to people she does not personally know, and is not above blatantly using people to get what she wants. She usually adopts a 'you scratch my back, I scratch yours' approach when she wants something from someone. Many people describe her as quite 'impish'.

Amongst people she is a tad more familiar with, she is considerably sweeter and more considerate. She will go to many lengths to help her friends when they need it, as long as the help they require is not too far out of her skill range. She is flirty towards people she is interested in, but gets flustered and surprised when the feelings are reciporactated.

She is mischievous in any situation and loves pulling little pranks or tricks.

History: Prefers not to speak of life before leaving her home, like all Sidhe. She has traveled for some time learning new songs and poems from many parts of the globe. Her two main goals are to improve her control over traditional magic, and to set herself up as a rich inhabitant of Luada. Her life has been filled with exploration and a relative sense of freedom, but she has not yet been a part of anything particularly grand in scope.
Blood Abilities: Sidhe Enchantment
Traditional Magic Type: Spoken Expression; Casts her spells in rhymes.
Skills: Flying: Like all Sidhe, Mizu is a capable flier when utilizing her wings. To her, flying is like walking.
Swimming: Mizu loves swimming and can hold her breath for quite some time; extended periods of time if she uses magic.
Singing and playing: Mizu can sing and uses this as her medium for magic. She has a knack for picking up new instruments as well; though she only has a pan flute in her possession, she has played many different Sidhe-sized instruments in her time and it is rare to find an instrument that she doesn't know how to play a few simple notes on.
Possessions: 1 Silver Pan Flute around her neck.
1 Bow that uses conjured arrows
Position within society: Vagrant, no established dwelling or fortune
Misc. Facts: Mizu is deathly afraid of fire and is lactose intolerant.

Aarah as Malek Nightwielder:

Hidden:
Name: Malek Nightwielder
Race: Demon, Snake Clan
Age: 61
Gender: Male

Appearance: http://cashile.deviantart.com/art/Vampire-400846820
When in human form: Tall and thin, with a slender neck that exhibits a scaly texture on either side. Pale, almost translucent coloured skin. Glowing red eyes and small fangs that elongate when in bestial form. Pointed ears with several piercings that he adds to for every decade of his life.
Long grey hair with dark streaks, that is always tied back, usually loosely but sometimes in a tight bun that accentuates his pointed features.
He wears thick charcoal grey leather clothing, with jagged embellishments. Black boots that fall just below the knee, that have several buckles. His clothing is worn for aesthetic reasons and also because he likes the similarity between the thick leather and his natural skin when in his full snake form.

Personality: Malek has been brought up to speak his mind and be inquisitive. He enjoys a good party and can be overly familiar when in social situations.
He is not very intuitive and finds it hard to judge a person's character, forcing him to be more direct in order to figure out someone. He tries to compensate for his lack of worldliness by acting as though he very knowledgeable, often spouting made-up stories and facts.
Due to his upbringing, he is respectful of the goddess Luna, although he does not directly worship her.
He has been fairly sheltered throughout his years, meaning he is somewhat ignorant of the world and, despite being important, he has little interest in the politics of Luada.

History: Malek grew up wealthy, due to his father being a noble and as such spent the first decade of his life in comfort. However, after the death of his father, the family were subject to a harsh decline in their wealth, falling into middle class status.
After the passing of her husband, his mother sought comfort in religion and spent a large amount of time at a monastery with Luadan monks, dragging him along with her. It was here that he learnt most of his current skills, the monks teaching him some combat techniques, crafting and some traditional magic.
After several years, moved away from the monastery and back to the City in the Grass.

Blood Abilities: Sharp fangs that spit/inject venom. Uses his forked tongue to detect and analyse chemicals within the air, allowing detection and location of other creatures.

Rook as Zhao Silver-Brush:

Hidden:
Name: Zhao Silver-Brush (Bat)

Race: Demon

Age: 265

Gender: Male

Appearance: In his human form, Zhao is quite handsome, standing at 5'11. His bright white hair contrasts against his dark face and yellow eyes. Zhao also has sharp teeth, showing his more bestial side.
Spoiler:
Image

However, in his awakened form, Zhao is anything but pretty. His full power is unleashed in the form of a giant and monstrous bat.
Spoiler:
Image

Personality: The first adjective that comes to mind when describing Zhao would be vain. The second would be calm, and the third would be collected.

History: Zhao was born into the Bat clan 265 years ago to his father, Guiren and his mother, Yuno. However, his childhood was not what one would consider "normal". For starters, he had a twin named Kuan. Second, he was the son of two assassins, and was being groomed for their work since he was born. Alone, the twins would be useless. Kuan was more focused on combat, but lacked Zhao's wits, guile, and mastery of the arts. Zhao, on the other hand, could sell a book to a blind man, but he was almost useless in combat. Together, they would be a deadly combination. The twins were schooled in the art of taking a life. Subterfuge, poisoning, intimidation, bribes, escaping the scene... they learnt it all through their long and rigorous training. Zhao, though, found his parents lifestyle repugnant, and did his best to avoid following in their footsteps, despite their harsh rebukes. Even so, he couldn't live with the knowledge that they would keep killing, so he concocted a plan. Using his powers of persuasion, he convinced his brother to aid him in his quest. Zhao slipped poison into his mother's evening drink, and together, Zhao and Kuan overpowered Guiren, killing him with the shortswords he had bequeathed to them. Guilt and horror at what they'd done finally striking them, the duo fled their home and split up soon after. Zhao ran to the Forbidden City, while his brother disappeared into the darkness, never to be seen again.

Blood Abilities: Demonic Shape Shifting, Deafening Scream (capable of causing great pain and shattering some materials), Wind Manipulation

Traditional Magic Type: N/A; Hasn't mastered it yet.

Skills: Painting, Speech, Very Basic Swordplay, Stealth, Reading, and Writing

Possessions: Zhao's wardrobe is fancy but still somewhat practical. He owns a house in the Mist district where he stores his painting equipment. He carries his journal/sketchbook with him at all times. In his coinpurse are 20 coppers, three silvers, and one gold for emergencies. He owns a dusty shortsword, a gift from his deceased father.

Position within society: Painter

Misc. Facts: Arachnophobic and ambidextrous.

Hidden:
Relationship(s):

Name: Kuan Shadestalker
Race: Demon (Bat)
Age:265
Gender: Male
Short Description: Kuan is Zhao's polar opposite. While Zhao is calm and would prefer to look for a strategic solution to a problem, Kuan would prefer to charge in blindly. And while Zhao would prefer a non-violent method, Kuan preferred bloodshed. Their differing personalities caused friction between them, though they were forced to stick together. After their parents were slain, however, the thin ties that bound them dissolved, and Kuan fled to pursue the very life that they had tried to get away from.

Kuan is considerably less handsome, according to his brother, at least. He stands at 6 feet, slightly taller than his brother, and has pointed teeth. When Zhao last saw him, Kuan was wearing the his robes, clutching his mask and blade.

Oddly, Kuan's awakened form is actually smaller than Zhao's, but still powerful.

Relation to PC: Twin brother.

The-Shadow-One as Keler Alexei-Panuse:

Hidden:
Name: Panuse, Keler Alexei
Race: Muunrae
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Appearance: Image Often seen with an open vermillion gold trimmed vest/trenchcoat hybrid on as well. He has one tooth that seems more canine than the other, marring his otherwise acceptable smile.
Personality: Keler, despite the numerous weapons on his person is fairly kind for a Muurai. As like most of his kind, he has no qualms about eating those he’s defeated but he takes care not to do such a thing when in the company of other’s children.
History: Keler was born the heir to a Muurai family. Growing up he didn’t act like the heir he was, and as such he was prone to getting into scraps with his fellow children, especially his younger brother Jelk, as such they were determined to outdo each other, Jelk was first to get his Changing (Goldenrod spider) during puberty, but this allowed Keler not to depend on it as much, instead enabling his strings and focusing on his studies as a battle mage.
Blood Abilities: Changing (Raven) + Family-based ability.
Traditional Magic Type: Physical Gesture(Closing his left eye and holding two fingers to it)
Skills: Skilled with the Chakram and the sword (Practising with Iaido based style.) Trained with athletics and parkour. Fairly adept at using his strings in battle and entanglement.
Possessions: Scarf (as shown in the picture) Vest/trenchcoat(as explained in picture) [url https://slm-assets0.secondlife.com/asse ... 1347550796]Shorts (brown-goldish coloured coming to a bit beyond his knees)[/url], Chakram (Attached to chain, styled to mimic feathers (black steel)) Two Emei Daggers two gold and ruby set rings to attach to. Position within society: First Heir of the Panuse family
Misc. Facts: Is very fond of sweet foods. Prone to outbursts whenever he tastes anything sour. Claims to detests swimming yet loves water (as a drink he’d repeat)

Betab17 as Faquarl of The Abyss:
Hidden:
Spoiler:
Name: Faquarl of the Abyss
Title: The Prisoner of Ascobol

Race: Shift
Age: Unknown
Gender: Male

Appearance:
:
Tattered and ruined, even for a Shift he looks fairly dead from how he presents himself. Though his face itself is fairly well hidden, his unmistakable grin and burning azure eyes are the first to be seen. In fact, barely any skin of his skin or features can be seen, for even beneath his clothes and gear he has covered his body in bandages and cloth stained in his own blood. Of the small portions of flesh that can be seen, with it's pale complexion it looks as though it's been tortured and stitched together. Even upon his chest across his heart, a stitched pattern has been made in the shape of a rune, permanently etched into his flesh and hiding the wound that lies beneath. This stands as his reminder and burden, that his fate is that of a heartless menace. To something note, few in this modern time have ever seen his true face, misleading of the nature of his ways. Maybe this is why he conceals his identity, even going so far to twist and warp his own demeanor.. only to further separate himself from his former self.

In regards to general features, he is often mistaken to be smaller than he truly is. His limbs are abnormally longer when compared to his torso, almost like they've been stretched to sheer agony. His over all frame is quite famished, thin to say the least. Though he may seem no more than skin and bones.. his strength is unquestioned. To be so athletic and wield such a heavy weapon, it would be a joke if he wasn't in some manner fit despite his petite status. Beneath his hat, unkempt and rustic hair seems to lay upon his bandaged scalp. Though it's questionable if it's even hair at this point, it's hard to tell if it's false and to what may actually be concealed. Regardless, it is a very dark brown, stained by who knows what. Upon his face to where his mouth would be, the cloth has been stitched in such a way to symbolize as though his lips have been sewn. Plenty of times he could speak without making it seem his lips have moved.. or he could loosen the threads and express a twisted smile that holds both charm and terror in it's wake. To what can be seen from beneath his attire and wraps, the glow of his eyes seem engulfed by the darkness that swells around it. To even the short time he's tasted freedom, his image has already crafted ill rumors, few ever hinting at the truth

To what of his clothes rather than simple torn cloth? Over all, his entire attire is rather strange and exotic, even when excluding the fact that he's wearing them. Most of his attire seems to have more stitches than his own body, though I guess in this case that's preferred. Mostly in black or grey, he does adorn himself in shades of dark or rustic brown, like that of dried blood. His outer jacket is made of black linen, rough to the touch and far from prime condition. Beneath his jacket is a roughed up rustic uniform, along it's surface lay straps to anchor his attire to his frame. It's long sleeves extend farther than his own jacket, reaching up to his crimson gloves. Around his forearm and over his uniform's sleeves he has wrapped in bandages. Hard to see, he wears a few more inner layers of shirts, with fabric torn and stained from countless conflicts. Around his waist is a sash that obscures much of his lower half, singed by the ends and hides the chains he keep tucked away. He does seem to have a belt beneath it along with multiple loops to hang personal gear. His pants are of black linen, strong in fabric but loose upon his figure. Near the lower half of his legs are to what may be leg warmers, hard to tell from their condition. His boots comprise of mostly rough leather and metal, making them well guarded for even physical defense. Under all his clothing, he does wear some sort of chain mail, granting some protection in exchange for it's light weight. Most of it guards his torso and arms, with only a limited amount to his legs. It may not a fatal blow, but it serves it's purpose. Upon his his head rests a large black hat much like a wizard's. He claims this was taken from the poor soul who freed him, even going so far to adorn it with a small silver charm in the shape of the moon. Around his neck is a thick scarf, tucked away into his attire. It hides the metal collar that is bound around his neck, with the chains torn off. The very same bonds are still upon both his legs and even arms. To what few have ever seen is the scar that wraps around his neck, freshly stitched compared to the rest of his body. If a collar or scarf didn't cover it up enough, layers of bandages hide it. To think maybe he lost his head at some point other than from insanity...

Truth of his appearance was lost in old memories, becoming a subject of rumor to the curious. To what few records of the time could tell, his skin was ash like in color but fairly pale, making him look nearly white when compared to most Shifts. His hair was pitch black and well kept in length. Even a few made note that he held a cold and mysterious look, fairly serious yet calm despite his charm. Some may even claim he was gifted with youth itself, though many of his qualities now seem absent from his current. One trend that never changed was his taste in dark attire and decorated with stitched patterns. Overall, from a distance he may be mistaken as some moving scarecrow given his attire and looks. However up close, while certainly menacing he does indeed wear more of a high class attire despite it's condition. If he was to be more charming and dress in a more fitting manner.. then maybe he would seem elegant just like the past claims so.
.
Personality: Fractured sanity and with tainted soul, to who is Faquarl now or then are vastly different beings. Chaotic, twisted, or evil seem to all apply. From one moment a riddle-versed stranger and the next an unsympathetic killer. Through and through, he embraces the joys of death. His sadistic views and odd humor only seem to make him out as an ill omen to others, but yet his words and dark charm seem to draw in the curious. He's become sort of an oddity of his own, mad to the point where he seems more truthful than surreal. However left in a untamed state, his sanity degrades further like the darkness of the abyss. Still, while he enjoys nothing more than fighting a strong foe, yet he wields a strong code of honor.. maybe there is more to this insane corpse than meets the eye... or maybe he just has had a change of heart after his death..

Backstory:[hide="1"]Not much can really be said about his past, or rather, what little has actually lasted through the test of time. With tales of his chivalry and skill, becoming a great warrior who sought to protect, only over shadowed by his downfall into the twisted version he is known to be as of now. Little to say what really occurred to him and why he changed, likely a curse was placed upon him to turn him into the very darkness he sought to prevent. Upon the height of events, by his own hands he murdered the celestial princess Auriel along with various other individuals within the palace. Rather than sentenced to death, he was sealed away into the abyss, far from civilization and deep within the chamber only known as the Prison of Ascobol. These series of events occurred 5,000 years ago.. Over time knowledge of his existence faded as he was left in isolation. His keepers perished in time and it seemed his location would be but a myth to be forgotten.

Now in current times, a small group of individuals sought to release and resurrect him, to use him as a weapon and likely gain power. By some unknown period during his imprisonment, he had perished due to external cause, but what is left unsaid. There the group forced a young Shift to preform the ritual, to trade life itself and free him from his demise. They believed this was best, that not only were they bringing a legend to reality, they too would certainly go down in history and fame. However in ill fate, they met their demise only moments after their mistake, and so now he is released. It has been but a few months.. his activity seems to have been kept to a minimum, though multiple accounts of individuals disappearing. Even a whole temple was slain in a single night, but a week after his freedom. While many other accounts could be marked as ill luck.. the temple was indeed a target. His travels over the months have brought him to an unfamiliar land, where he wanders aimlessly and without purpose. It seems to be that he only spreads torment in his wake.. to where he will be next is of great concern...

:sweetroll:
Blood Abilities: Vengeance
Traditional Magic: Spoken expression paired with Physical expression

Skills: Master in the arts of a Scythe wielder, his natural talent seems to so easily to adapt to any weapon in hand. He is sadly poor in long range combat, preferring to fight up close or within reach, never with a bow or spear. Nimble agility and unorthodox movement are the highlights of acrobatic skill. However one who only trains body can be made a fool, thus he his well versed in language, literature, and the musical arts. Oddly enough, despite his intelligence, he knows little of the history and events around him, still fixated upon an older era. Thus he is ignorant or uncaring to what many consider a daily life in society, To those which his bloody hands nor silver tongue will leave untouched, he is fairly able to care for another, much like a noble guardian. However due to fate, his fractured sanity and tainted heart is the bane to any remorse.. thus even in the act of good, he cannot help but be the monster that he is

Equipment:
:
Everything he once knew of himself was left within the Abyss, but in his hands he carries the one thing that tells of his identity. A weapon untouched by time, forged in an era of ancient times, he wields the iconic heavy scythe known solely as Ebonous Serenity. Forged of strange metals and a blade so keen and sharp. Enchanted by those who may very well have forged it, it mends and embody the very darkness around it, making it the perfect weapon for those of shadows. However despite it's very nature, it seems to radiate a small presence of magic, so weak to even go unnoticed by unfamiliar eyes. To hide his blade and conceal it's aura, it remains wrapped in dark cloth upon his leisure or engulfed within his shadows.

He carries with him a few oddities, from a silver flute to which he may play, a rusted lantern that he keeps tied to his waist, or a stained scroll that is only blank. One thing that seems to be the most cruel are the very chains he was bound with in that black Abyss. Chard and blood stained metal of unknown metal, complete with barbed edges that only seem to hint at their terror. Why he still carries these around is indeed odd, let alone why he still wears some of them, though broken and ruined they are around his own body. To him, they make the perfect weapon, especially in entangling and trapping his foes, almost as if sharing the same experience he once had to endure. From the shattered and twisted remnants he has left across the land, they seem to be of magical origin, created through the use of traditional magic, so the means by which he may implement them is indeed troubling.

Currency: 0 Gold, 5 Silver, 23 Copper
Social Status: Traveling Fugitive

Misc. Info: He is ironically timid when it comes to subject of Sidhe, to why this is may never be known. He is also far from fond to social settings, especially to the most formal of them all. Though certainly not expected, he his actually quite susceptible to fire due to his attire.
Spoiler:
Relationships
Alma:
Name: Alma
Race: Magical Construct
Age: Unknown, but within the span of 5000 years
Gender: Genderless, presumed female
Short Description: A product of his own isolation, born in the shadows of the Abyss, she is the physical manifestation of his subconscious will. Independent in regards to sentience, but unique when compared to most elementals created by their clan. Formed from shadow by blood rite and bounded by ritual of incantation. Though certainly no equal to most other elementals in terms of strength, she is called upon as a companion rather than a subjugated servant.

In regards to individual traits, she takes upon the form of a black raven but and shapeshift to a degree. To merge with or even become his very weapon in need, or maybe act as his 2nd pair of eyes. Of her personality, she is completely silent despite the witnessed conversations she seems to have with her master. Ultimately, she is an individual who can even oppose her master's will, as if representing his core judgement even in his state of ruin.

Though given her unique traits, she is not without weakness. To stray to far from her master will only make her dissolve, only to await for the ritual again for a return. If the link between the two is ever compromised, the same fate will result once more. And while yes magic could harm her though insignificant when one is of literal darkness.. when exposed to a threshold of light, she will be returned to nothing more than smoldering black ash. Granted no torch nor fire could ever achieve such radiance, that is not to say she is safe from harm. If such a fate occurs, her master cannot call upon her till enough time has passed

A few weeks ago, a terrible tragedy befell the Dzárg. Someone had dared to steal the sacred book of the Dzárg and it was revealed that a Dzárg traitor called Lúo was behind it. Dance Captain Kerr as Pazu "Paz" Booker:

Hidden:
Name: Pazu "Paz" Booker
Race: Shift
Age: 72
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Spoiler:
Image
Average build and slightly taller than average. Messy shoulder length white hair. No facial hair. Blue eyes.
Personality: Intelligent, charismatic and nice to those he likes as well as those in need. He's considerably less nice to those he dislikes. Prefers to avoid violence when he can but can be angered and is willing to resort to violence. If he does fight he'll be pragmatic about it, honourable combat is just an easy way to get killed when one's life in on the line. Has a young, rebellious and idealistic spirit. Anti-authoritarian, hates people meddling where they have no business meddling. He doesn't respect people because they have power or a family name behind them, he respects them if they are good people. Feels the same way about gods although he doesn't worship any. Mostly indifferent to race, sex and family including his own, judges people based on their own merit. Sees no value in laws, instead does what he judges to be right.
History: Paz and his twin sister Mei were both born in Yundra. They were born into the Clan of Vengeance and raised by their father Osa Booker also a member of the clan. Their mother was Ren Kita a member of the Clan of Sorrow. Their father never said much about their mother and never talked about how they met, the twins never met her. Osa was a scholar and knew a great deal about magic which he thought both of his children. While familial bonds don't mean much for Shifts, Paz and Mei were close friends. Paz had far more of a scholarly interest than his sister who preferred hunting and marksmanship. When they were 22 their father became involved in a plot to overthrow the Emperor. He sent his children to Luáda on a mission to find out all they could about human weaponry, they were young and he didn't want to involve them in the plot but thought they could be useful in other ways and was hoping they could find the secrets to ancient human weaponry that could be useful in a war against Luáda. Their father was killed attempting to assassinate the Emperor and the Twins found themselves cut off from Yundra when the magical barrier went up.

The twins stuck together at first, they were afterall the only people they knew in a land where most people hated their kind. But after a few years they parted ways with Paz becoming a travelling scholar and Mei becoming a mercenary albeit one that did so within the confines of the law. Paz continued his scholarly pursuits and even began to create his own fiction such as the "Mio Maki" series which is about a Sidhe thief in The Forbidden City. Still tries to meet with his sister once a year.

Over the years has become more firm in his anti-authoritarian and rebellious views. Sees government as meddlesome, they might not all be bad people but they aren't helping. Thinks people should be free and equal. Would prefer it to be achieved peacefully but in theory isn't against using force if there is no other option.
Blood Abilities: Vengeance
Traditional Magic Type: Uses Hand Gestures to cast magic.
Skills: Using a short sword, stealth, magic, speech, intelligence, reading and writing.
Possessions: Carries a Wakizashi in a sheath he keeps by his waist. Clothing wise has a dark brown hooded cloak, black trousers, black belt, black leather boots, dark brown leather curaiss and white shirt. Carries a medium sized brown satchel which contains some food, water, a journal, a book he had just started reading called "The Tales of Kenta Spellbow" which is about the titular character who is a Sidhe that leaves his home in The Lake of Mirrors to take up a life as a mercenary with a group of Demons, map of Luada and writing equipment. Has a coin purse containing 2 gold, 7 silver and 3 coppers.
Position within society: Travelling Scholar/Author.
Misc. Facts: Anarchist. He thinks that people are equal and should be judged on their own merits rather than race, sex or family. Also think people should be able to do as they wish as long as they don't harm others. Sees monarchy as meddlesome and imposing the will of a privileged elite rather than helping people at large. While he knows not all people in government are bad and does believe some are trying to do what is right, he doesn't think they are helping matters. Fears old age and death. Doesn't want to grow old and turn all skeletal and eventually immobile, desires to find a way to stay young. Interested in history and literature including creating his own writings. Particularly fascinated by humans and always likes to discover more about the extinct race.

Well, here we go!

Not adding any relationships, she doesn't have many established friendships and has no idea where her family is.

I most likely screwed up somewhere so let me know if so.

You're golden, accepted. Just one small thing, does she have any money? The unit of money is copper, silver and gold (forgot to mention this) so 10 copper= 1 silver and 10 silver =1 gold
A few coppers will get you a stiff drink and a meal, a silver can get you a room and said meal, and a gold can get you a suite with four rooms, and a feast.

So I spent all night hard at work.. only to be 80% done with the sheet.. curse my over indulgence of words.. so really only backstory is left, which 'should' be pretty cut and dry.

Pretty vague image of his past life.. grim event ruins everything.. more grim events.. nothing.. then [&@%!] starts happening again

Count me in. I should have put the finishing touches on my sheet by tomorrow or the day after.

This looks to be so wonderfully high fantasy... I may just join. No promises, but if I comr up with a character I like, I'm in.

Mizu is my character, not a race. She's in the second post.

I'm blaming the clinging hypnos and Morpheus are doing to me. Apologises.

Quick question on the Sihde >_> if one is powerful enough to do so.. could they cast an illusion that could trigger permanent effects upon the victim, even long after the spell has faded?

Keler Alexei Panuse:
Sword (like this with a series of red string around the sheath, this allows it to attach to Kelers back.] All weapons are attached to him by strong string. 2 gold
Position within society: First Heir of the Panuse family
Misc. Facts: Is very fond of sweet foods. Prone to outbursts whenever he tastes anything sour. Claims to detests swimming yet loves water (as a drink he’d repeat)

Jesus that was hard picking his Changing.
