TA2: When it comes to depicting locations previously seen in video games in an RP, particularly when it comes to cities, I like to use the game depiction for inspiration, but one must remember that a game depiction is typically scaled down to not overwhelm the game.

One can toss a stone from one end of TESV's Riften to the other, but I like to imagine that TA2's Riften holds several thousand people. Especially in its booming state as opposed to its... lessened state as depicted to Skyrim.

So, the location of the government-funded, free-to-use stable shall be left vague, I suppose. Is it on the left, or the right? That, my dear players, is for your imagination to decide.

Oh, I like to post songs with my DM posts to accompany setting certain scenes, and I forgot to do one with the opening of the gate. So, here y'all go! To be edited in to the DM post too, of course.

TA2: I imagine Riften to be probably the second smallest of the cities in Skyrim. Whiterun, i view as the smallest due to it being on a mountain but that's just my interpretation of it.

Not that I agree with him, Whiterun is a central, crossroads-type town, and therefore should be one of Skyrim's larger cities.

TA2: In terms of population, i would say it's the smallest city. In terms of trade and location, it is one of the biggest cities. T

GWN: Kinda don't know what to do.

D&D: So, i'm assuming we're all ready for a timeskip.

TA2: That's the thing about cities though. If there's a lot of trade and commerce, people will come to live in it. Population is paralell to commercial success in a lot of cases.

Granted, I'm no civic studies professor, but I'm fairly certain that I'm at least partially correct.

TA2: If anything, Morthal would be the only Hold Capital rather scarce in population or size, all the rest have various factors attributing to size n growth.

Even with cities with a pre-defined borderi(i.e permanent wall) or original structures(i.e Markarth's dwarven structures), they can still expand beyound that with more standard/contemporary/generic structures to compensate for the needed growth. New walls can be raised, farmland can be moved, and houses can be built <_< doesnt mean they'll last

Diesel: Probably but I'm not ready to make a GM post so you can wait.

Fallout: I'm surprised Rick wants to bring anyone other than Lester with him. Lester and Chris are the only other people that know Bo and Tong are already dead.
---

Lots of cities were built on elevated terrain, especially in the Bronze Age, Iron Age and Early Medieval Period. Because elevated terrain is a really good position to build a settlement on for defensive purposes, that's why the Jarl's home (ah Jarl Balgruuf, the one true High King of Skyrim) is the highest point of the city. And Whiterun isn't just the settlement within the walls, it's also the surrounding farmland which would be home to peasantry. When you look at not only trade, but also the historical, strategic and cultural relevance of the settlement being home to the Skyforge, I'd imagine Whiterun is one of the three biggest settlements in Skyrim along with Solitude and Windhelm. I don't see why anyone would believe Morthal or Falkreath are bigger than Whiterun.

GWN: I would assume Rick wanted to bring Ashley to minimize the risk of an incident. Same with bringing Lester, who's a little rough. He left the two msot passive members of the party, Chris and Luke, at the Chinese camp because they're the least likely to run into trouble. He left Elijah with them in the hopes of further reducing that chance. It's pretty smart actually.

At least, that's what I think his thought process would be.

Bingo bango. Lester and Ashley are both fighters...and also to minimize the risk of someone getting super [&@%!] about Bo/Tong being dead. Elijah might take umbrage with the murders, Luke certainly would, Chris already does. Lester understands why he did it. And Ashley...is a [&@%!] mute! Of course, Rick/I have something in mind to help convince her to keep a lid on it, but it's the best chance to avoid getting killed en route, and to avoid becoming the victim of a witch hunt.

How is Rick planning to break the news to Xiao and co? ...You'll just have to find out, won't you? :D

GWN: Calling it now, I'm going to have to flat out execute Elijah if he reacts in a bad manner. :P Joking aside, It will be very bad for me if someone leaks the news of those two being dead. And well, convincing her is not really needed. I mean, who would believe the American mute over the leader of a caravan survivor?

TA2: You know, for a long lost civilization, far more likely known in myth and tales than by deadly meeting... alot of folk here seem to know a grave more deal about them than your standard affair :wat: didn't know every sod had a pocket version to the wiki in Tamriel

Just sayin..

To add onto that, Whiterun is in a lot more temperate an environment than Solitude and Windhelm. The plains around it and the river running into it would provide an incredibly fertile environment for the city. Let's not forget that Whiterun is in the perfect place to both facilitate trade throughout Skyrim and to be a major trading hub for the vastly richer Cyrodiil. Whiterun is more than likely the centre of Skyrim's Blue Banana.

IDK, I thought Solitude would be the biggest commercial giant in Skyrim. Port city, seat of power in the region, etc etc.

TA2: Enhanced Relict Oil, now with warming & cooling, for added pleasure!

Going to wait for others to post before I post again--we kinda left Eolwyn and everyone in the dust

Also Rook, you referred to Grelok as Maurzol :( I know, I wish he were still alive, too.

So I was just remembering us comparing the two sides of the RP to different campaigns with different difficulty settings, and I just had to make this.

TA2: I think I may have hit a bit of a roadblock with Darkscale. Erm... kinda won't know what to do if no-one accepts his help and well, he has no incentive to force the issue apart from well, the traditional TES reason of "ooo, shiny loot, oh my god, i regret this! Why did i think going in here with starting level gear was a good idea!?" Ok, maybe not that but well, kinda potentially stuck.

GWN: Kinda nothing for me to do atm thus having Ash follow Rick.

DAR: I'm calling it, in DA fashion, Gideon transforms into a Pride Demon. Damn demons.

D&D: [&@%!], the gig's up! RUN!
