Name: Jun-Li Dread-Weaver
Race: Shift
Age: 70
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Spoiler:
Image

Jun-Li has ash colored skin, accented with his deep blue eyes. He wears his set of armor when out on a mission or when he thinks combat is likely, bur otherwise will don a set of elaborate robes. He allows his hair to flow around his face naturally at all times.
Personality: Dark and brooding, Jun-Li isn't the most approachable, which has led to a life of mostly isolation. He moves through life with little regard to his impact on those he doesn't know or care about, though he does try to care for his friends. He does have a somewhat generous side in regard to orphans and beggars, knowing that he was once in that position himself. He does regard those close to home a bit differently
History: Separated from his parents at birth, Jun-Li was placed into the Clan of Sorrows, while they belonged to the Clan of Vengeance. He was raised by an extremely old, close to the point of entering Ratha, and cantankerous couple where if he couldn't take care of himself and his guardians, he would be starved and beaten. This did little for growing a generous and kind spirit within the young boy, and he often found himself dreaming of escape. So one night, he did. Strangely enough, the couple was found with their throats opened in their beds not two days later, though a suspect was never found. He then wandered, escaping Yundra before the barrier surrounding it was completely, and traveling to the Forbidden City.
There he survived off begging and thievery, never really having enough to ease the pains of hunger. One night, after a fairly successful day, Jun-Li was assaulted by a street thug who seemed very intent on having his way with him. That is, until Jun-Li plunged the mans own dagger into his heart and escaping into the night. Later, he was tracked down by a cloaked wolf demon who paid him and offered to train him as her apprentice. Jun-Li accepted and was quick to learn the arts of the trade, even soon surpassing his master, though he would never admit it. Since, Jun-Li has made himself a man for hire, occasionally keeping in contact with Akako, lending his services to any who needs his specific talents.
Blood Abilities: Sorrow
Traditional Magic Type: N/A
Skills: An expert with a blade, adequate in the art of speech, and proficient at remaining unseen. Jun-Li also is adept in the knowledge if poison making.
Possessions: A short sword as black as night (appropriately named Penumbra) , a set of armor, and robes. Jun-Li has a small home in the Rain District where he keeps his furniture and accumulated income.
Position within society: Middle class, Assassin
Misc. Facts: He enjoys good music (though there seems to be a lack of that around), and has a strong disliking for cats.

Relationships:
PC Or NPC: NPC
Name: Akako Anko
Age: Around 50-ish
Race:Demon, Wolf
Short Descript.: Akako, at first glance, seems to be cold and detached, and really, she is. It takes time for her to warm up to new people, though she rarely needs to be close to anyone. She and Jun-Li are fairly close, and are really the only friend that each other have.
Relationto PC: Friend and Mentor.

Jun-Li had joined the group just as it had left the city, foreseeing much opportunity in the missions inevitable success. He had traveled silently near the back, weary of some of the members. An odd bunch, to be sure he had thought as the leader of the bandits had first approached.

As the fighting started, a cruel smile found its way to his face. Finally a way to show just what he was capable of, and to put these miserable runts in their place as well. He calmly stepped out of the barrier, drawing Penumbra from its sheath. Silently, he approached one of the lizard demons, ready for a warm up. Like lighting, he lunged for its abdomen, attempting to close the distance that separated them, and, in doing so, ensure his advantage over the spear-man.

Keler gave a grin, and he split. Entirely. An unkindness of ravens took to the air, razor sharp thread spinning between them, to wrap around one of their foes, the crow demon, cutting deep into their skin. Spinning and spinning around, a whirl storm of feathers.

He who came from the Abyss, stood with his head in shade, and his following actions unclear. His body quivered and trembled as it hunched over, though not from fear for one who has already tasted death. No, instead he started to laugh, slowly escalating his volume as his madness came in full, he cold not help but dream of such bliss be for a moment. His chains rattled and his bones quickly snapped as his spine with a twist to show the very expression upon his face. The threads that stitched his 'lips' shut grew loose as his smile found width.

A mere grin would not suffice, but his voidless sockets and warped voice made it all the more clear of his tarnished mind. A shadow like aura flowing from his stitched mouth as it moved, faint it may be. He held out both arms with palms open towards his own, like a beast looking upon his claws but never did his eyes deter from the choice of victims. In a warped voice he spoke with such omen in the break of his laugh "Here I see such unfortunate souls, bound to be such ill found noise.. let them know their own screams cry, let them know where terror lies.." His shadow began to warp as it fed from his words. In his wake he strolled from out the barrier, ready to kill any who may be so unlucky ".. For here I am.. the Bird of Hermes... this is my name... eating my own wings.. to make me tame.."

His shadow seemed different, like it now has a mind of it's own, but unlike he it held in it's hands a weapon most familiar with a blade curved and long. "Time for some fun.. for you and I.. wouldn't you say.. my dear Alma?" His target was set, this much was clear, a Snake Demon who dared for a challenge most unfair. For it was not just he who held great strength, a most unwise decision to fight such group.

As the fight went on, blood and entrails could be seen flying through the air, some hitting the barrier. Malek was surprised that Cliff had remained in the cart and not jumped out to help with the slayings.

Malek's mind was awash with hesitation and confusion. He didn't want to seem like a wimp, but he just couldn't make himself leave the safety of the magical shield - as though his heart was willing but his mind was not.

He watched Kuter, Farqual, Keler and Jun-Li boldly wielding their weapons and skills, almost jealous of their confidence. He drew some comfort from the fact that Zhao seemed to be having trouble building up the courage to fight too -at least he wasn't the only one.
His comfort didn't last long however, as he saw Zhao charge into battle.

Wishing he had some sort of projectile, like a bow and arrow, where he could do some damage but remain safe, Malek did nothing more than continue to watch the gruesome scene play out.

Paz drew his sword and attempted to use his blood abilities to blend with the shadows and fade from sight in the darkness.

Kúter raised his shield to try to block the attack and would thrust his spear towards the wolf's chest. "You will be a worthy kill." He told his enemy whilst trying to block the attack.

Seeing the vicious scene unfold before them, Mizu decided to cause a bit of mayhem for their enemies. To ensure her safety, she muttered a simple incantation, one she had memorized in case she needed a rhyme to hide herself.

"I call upon the night to hide from sight."

It was simple and not very flashy, but it was all she needed; a rhyme for invisibility.

Spoiler:
In iambic pentameter too!

The Battlefield

Karu, cloaked in black, raised both hands with pointer fingers extended. Bringing them around his body in a full moon circle he then pointed them at one of the Lizards. "In the spirit of the moon, burn with my divine light." He whispered, a blast of moonlight flowing from his hands in cosmic radiance, destroying the lizard by burning him to ash.

Kuter and the wolf demon

The wolf's claw slammed into the Dzargs shield with a loud clap, knocking the warrior off of his balance and ruining his strike with the spear, he grazed his foe's arm instead.

Decisively, the wolf demon kneed the warrior in the stomach, knocking the air from his lungs.

Jun-Li

The lizard demon was unprepared for the swift response of the Shift assassin, but managed to react. The lizard demon awoke, or rather managed to do so half way before the assassin reached him. The lizard grew more robust, and his scales hardened into shards of stone. The shift's blade skittered along the stone, while no damage was done to the fine forged weapon, neither was it's target affected.

The Muurae

The unkindness of ravens flew forth in all it's great fury, powerful and dangerous this attack had all the potential to kill it's foe in one fell swoop.... Unfortunately the unkindness of ravens found itself unable to get close to the disarmed crow demon. There was a field of force around the demon, magic would still work but physical attacks would find no merit.

"Wings and feet, pincers and claws, stingers and bees! Come forth and strike all you see!" the demon chanted, summoning a cloud of swarming insects, the circles the flock of ravens. More of a nuisance than a threat themselves.

Faquarl

The hydra reared and one of it's five heads snagged into the old torn flesh of the abyssal one. Neither was affected by the poison of the other. The head wriggled and tried to free itself from the half rotted flesh.

Damn. Almost had it.

Keler, in the vastness of his unkindness grinned, physical attacks may not work, but what about those... that were imbued with magic. One raven, two ravens landed, one brought it's wing feathers, two of them to be extact, to cover the other's left eye, the gesture needed for magic. As string is sharp and magic full. The Muurai thought, always helped to focus his thoughts on the magic. Magick to cover strings. Feel the unkindness. A small gesture but hopefully enough to activate the magic. His strings to coat themselves in power, different effect for each string, freezing, fire, acidic. Too many to choose from.

Seeing his comrades making little progress in their defeat of the bandits was an unsettling sight to behold. Amongst all the noise and chaos, Malek suddenly remembered he had his notebook with him. He quickly fumbled in his pocket for it, pulling it out, along with a small pencil.

He sat on the back of the cart and rested the book on his lap. Still within the safety of the barrier, he could provide no physical assistance to his allies, but perhaps he could conjure some magical aid.

Looking round at the battle, Malek's mind swirled with thought, furtively trying to thing of an object that might prove to be useful. Suddenly, his earlier thought came back into his mind - that of a projectile that he could hurl at the bandits. A set of throwing knives would be perfect, he had some skill with them and could certainly do some damage from within the force-field with those.

With shaky hands, and as carefully as he could, he began to draw a set of small knives onto the paper, shading and detailing them.
With the drawing finished, Malek closed his eyes and concentrated on the objects he had sketched, focusing on their shape, material and feel, letting the magical energy build.

Edited this post to change from arrows to knives - he ain't got no skills with the bow!

Kúter staggered back a few steps after being punched in the stomach and having all of the air expelled from his lungs. "You will be a worthy kill." He told his attacker as he raised his shield and would try to bash it against the demon before thrusting his spear at it.

Hydra dude ~vs~ Mr Scarecrow

The vile being gave a wither of pain, clutching the sides of the head that impaled his so while his own gave a gasp of air as he looked upon the sky. To think that one from the Abyss would even flinch or allow such damage to continue, it seemed far too good to be true. His false mouth, frozen in action as the air calmly escaped his lungs, only for his grip to tighten with claws and a faint laugh to be heard. His shadow grew as if in response to his laughter, slowly coated the ground for which they stood like a black pool. "Woe to those that think misery deserves solitude.." Blacker than black, his voidless gaze met with his foe, his claws continuing to sink into his flesh. "I for one.. strongly believe that misery should be shared.." He seemed enticed, as if he was enjoying the moment more than any should. His foul words spoke with a voice most ominous "Let me show you.. the error of your ways." From the abyss for which they stood over, he conjured something most cruel and binding, jagged spikes of plenty with barbed edge to impale the duo without mercy. He flashed a smile most grim as he had no intention of letting either leave, but neither does he intend to meet the same fate

The Battle between the Abyssal one and the Hydra Demon

The snake was impaled in several places, but was very much alive he was simply unable to move at all. Hydra demons have a regenerative healing factor far beyond even most regular demons who could be cut in half and still live easily. However that would be of no help to the Hydra as it was that very healing factor that was trapping it now. It would be unable to escape from the shadows, for it would heal far too quickly for that. Clouds of smoky acid leaked from the cuts in the beast's hide but otherwise it was immobilized.

Kuter and the wolf demon

The battle between the warriors was bloody, the wolf's claws raked against the Dzarg's steely hide to no effect, but the spear plunged into the demon's left lung, a ragged hiss coming from his throat. The beast's firey hot blood rolled down the spear and would have burned the Dragonkin save for his immunity to fire. The wolf demon's eyes rolled back, and he began to seize most violently, dying from his woulds with the spear still buried within him.

Malek

Malek's knives took the form of ink at first, lifting off of the paper and levitating in front of the scholar. His magic quickly became evident, the daggers disappeared leaving a visible disturbance in the air, he now had several daggers of living wind to be controlled by his will. His inspiration, his muse, the wind itself was his guide and his art. He needed only direct them.

Keler the Unkind one

The Muurae quickly discovered that he had done the correct thing, such wards were often incomplete. They would either prevent all physical or magical intrusions but rarely both for they lacked the skill to maintain such. The magic wrapped around the crow demon, a myriad of magical effects coating him. Destroying him body and soul. The creature screamed pitifully before its end.

The illusionists

Those who wished to vanish from view did so, their magic different but the result being the same. Mizu vanished from sight, the immortal vanishing into thin air.

The same could be said of Paz, he vanished into the darkness, the only sign of his existence being his shadow, which in a sunless world would be hard to see in the best of conditions but let alone a full on battle.

The remaining bandits

Seeing their greatest warrior, and now their leader incapacitated as well as their mage destroyed, the remaining bandits were obviously in no jape to fight any longer.

"We surrender!" One of the remaining wolves shouted! They threw their weapons to the ground in light of the relentless assault.

Hidden:
I'm gonna add a poll for you all to decide what we do with the bandits

Kúter looked into the eyes of his enemy as his spear penetrated the wolf demon's throat. He showed the wolf that he had no fear in battle. No mercy. He felt something hot touching his skin and was surprised that the blood of the demon was hot. Fortunately, Dzárgs were immune to fire and Kúter was not harmed. It didn't even faze him one bit. Kúter violently ripped the spear from the dead wolf's body and turned to face the surrendering bandits.

"Cowards." He muttered under his breath. "These cowards have shown us no honour. No valor and no reason for us to allow them to continue with their cowardly lives. Normally, i would slaughter them for preying on those who are not warriors and villages full of helpless women and children. They are nothing but a blight on the land and the emperor will be pleased to hear that another pack of pathetic bandits have been killed." Kúter told the others as he stabbed the torso of the dead wolf and attempted to crush it's skull with his foot to intimidate the rest of the bandits. He knew that fear was a potent weapon and what it could do to those who lacked the strength of the Dzárg/

Malek smiled as he saw his magic had worked. He had expected solid metal knives to appear, but he knew that traditional magic could be unpredictable, and these 'wind knives' that hovered in the air before him were just as welcome.

He held up his hand, ready to direct one of them at an attacking bandit. However, as he did so, he saw the remaining rebels, who hadn't been slain, throwing down their weapons and declaring a surrender.

He looked round at the others in his group, unsure what to do next. Should they let them go, bind them, try to recruit them.....kill them?

" What should we do? I'm not sure that we should just let these killers go free now?" he shouted to the group, all the while with his right hand still raised in the air beside the knives.

"The decision lies with the Prince, ultimately it is he who guides us." Cliff said, looking a the Prince for guidance.

The Prince said nothing, looking absolutely ill.

"We should slaughter them and continue with our journey." Kúter told the entire party whilst continuing his attempt to crush the dead wolf's skull as a scare tatic.

Hidden:
I'm unsure if crushing the skull is a DM action or if i am able to do that without you determining if it gets crushed or not, Hiss.

Keler gathered himself, raven form to normal form, his entire body back once more. "Kill them all.. A feast for me.." He mumbled softly, grinning widely as he cut off an arm or a leg of that, crunching and chewing on the raw meat, more blood, he felt his unkindness grow. More ravens for him.

"A feast most.. suited to me." He said simply, ripping a piece of flesh as he grinned, his hands extending towards the group. "I am Keler, First Heir of the Panuse. We are the threads of fate, the puppeteers of life." His fingers grew webbing as he readied to unleash a razor sharp whip of string, not waiting upon the Prince.

Farqual stood there, and from the looks of it he fared no better than his prey he has just immobilized, though to say Farqual was in any danger is surely a misguided thought. After a period of stillness, he gave a smirk showing he was very much alive and well, he was far from done in his terror to strike.

"Hehe.. What's wrong? Finding it a tad troubling to move? Maybe you should of thought twice over, for if you thought I was prey.. you were sadly mistaken.." He began to slowly fade himself into shadows, to make lucid and free. All the while from behind the Hydra another form took shape, Alma making her presence known but mimicking her master so. By the end there stood two shadows, pitch black in hides, with the only features be an exaggerated grin and two empty eyes of white.

That poll is a really silly idea by the way. People should discuss it in character and if they do vote, do so in character not meta-gamey magic mental communications.

It was rather worrying how eager some of Paz's travelling companions were to kill these men, particularly the one who wanted to eat them. "We should deal with their leader, that's for sure, as for the rest..." said Paz, pausing unsure of the best course of action. "Well I don't particularly want to kill them. Although letting them go could come back to haunt us and I wouldn't be surprised if they target other people like they did us." Paz wasn't sure what to do, although he imagined it wouldn't be long before one of his companions killed them regardless of what everyone else said.

Spoiler:
I agree with Kerr, a poll is a no no unless the characters are physically writing an answer to a vote or something.

Mizu fluttered back into visibility, the entire thing being over before she could cause any mayhem with her spells.

"Tie them up. That way we don't have to worry about what happens to them being on our conscience." She said while fluttering around the prince's general area.

How did silliness ever hurt anyone? I'll explain it like this: What kind of Prince would ask for the opinions of people he doesn't even know? Especially if these people are as bloodthirsty as they seem? This land and it's people will be drastically changed by the events of this RP, the gods themselves and perhaps the very fabric of all the world as well...

Which is just a really roundabout way of saying that I was trying to experiment with something. While I appreciate the advice, genuinely, I don't really appreciate being told what should happen. Thanks for the input and I will avoid it in the future, but we all make mistakes and I am a bit rusty. So for that I apologize since this RP is all of yours as much as it is mine.

"Since it appears the Prince has no intention of judging them, what would our traveling adventurers suggest we do with our remaining foes?" Cliff asked finally rising from the cart. The humanoid figure stood with his large claymore strapped to his back, looking like solid gold or at least the sheath did.

"Why are you asking them? It's your job to protect me not theirs." The Prince asked Cliff with an incredeous look on his face. It was clear that he wasn't used to doing anything.

"What good is an emperor who doesn't listen to his subjects?" Cliff said calmly to Valadrir. "Well? What say you all?" He asked gruffly.
