"A REAL warrior?" Drau Broktar said, incredulously. "No." While he had been dismissive of the other Krogan until now, he was about to go on the offensive. "A REAL warrior picks battles that'll be a challenge, he doesn't harass one jumpy Salarian. That's what a Pyjak is for." He took two steps toward Hard. "A REAL warrior doesn't take his gun out at the first sign of danger. He knows when, where, and who to shoot. He looks first, then shoots. He doesn't whip out his shotgun on a crashing shuttle where there are no known enemies--because that's just stupid." He took another two steps forward, now being well within melee range of his fellow Krogan. "A REAL warrior, you repulsive little hatchling, knows when to shut up. He doesn't boast about what he can do or has done. He makes his intention known, and lets his reputation speak for itself, if it must. He knows when to listen to his betters, and learn from them."

He shook his head. "You're not a real warrior, C-Sec. You're an attack dog, not even a Pyjak. You need to talk less and listen more, because as it is..."

Broktar paused for dramatic effect, and uttered the worst insult that could possibly be said to a Krogan. "You're not. Worth. Killing." And with that, he finished speaking. He stared down Hard. He didn't draw a weapon, he didn't so much as clench his fists, or even put his biotic barrier back up.

Now that the two Krogan were face to face, Churkan Hard could clearly see that Broktar was an old Krogan. His skin was faded to tan, and his crest/plate had no green blotches. How old, he may or may not be sure, but it was certain that Broktar had seen many centuries.

Churkan hated being told that he wasn't worth killing and did not put up with fools questioning if he is a warrior. So he responded in the traditional Krogan way and headbutted him. "I am Krogan and i am a warrior! I have faced down scum tht would make you [&@%!] your armour and been shoot down more times then i would care to remember. I was the unstoppable force that held the line in London. I fought the reapers for our piece of [&@%!] rock and i have earned the right to talk. You, on the other hand, are an old fossil and beyond your time." He told him with pride in his tone. Whilst he wasn't a one man army, he did save many human lives in the battle of London and was reported to have taken down 3 behemoths at once. Although it may have been a few squads of humans that backed up him at the time.

Churkan was a young Krogan and would have been nearing his 30s if he was a fragile human but he was a Krogan and a proud warrior of Clan Hard although Clan Hard didn't exist and he had a reputation of being a brutal but efficent mercenary prior to the reaper wars. Now, he had a reputation of being a reckless, brutal but efficent(most of the time) Reaper vet turned C-sec warrior. All that changed was the pay and him being paid to hunt down scum by the council via C-sec.

You realize his given name is Hard and his clan name is Churkan, right? Urdnot Wrex isn't of clan Wrex.

And uh, you made me do this. :P

Hard gained +5 Renegade.
Broktar gained +3 Paragon.

Hard's headbutt hit home, and Broktar would likely have a headache for a while, but Hard's little tirade was his last few moments on his feet before a biotic blast pushed him with the force of nearly a thousand newtons. He was thrown back and slammed against the wall, busting an omni-display monitor and putting a sizable crack in the wall.

Tharen's biotic field dimmed down after a few seconds. "Do that again and you're going to be getting a lot more than a throw field. I want you on this job because you can fight. But if you can't go a few minutes without picking a fight, then get the hell out of this interrogation room. Now."

Drau Broktar laughed out loud. A slow, hearty chuckle. "Spectres are more fun than I thought they might be. But yeah, yeah, my part in this, cooperate, I know. As long as he can keep his trap shut every now and then," Broktar said, pointing to the one who crashed into the wall, "we can get the job done just fine."

He walked back over to the snack trays, and dropped another seemingly unidentifiable, unappetizing-looking 'thing' into his mouth, and swallowed it. "So let's get the hell out there. Whose ship we hitching a ride on? What model? Wouldn't mind taking a Turian frigate for a spin."

"If you think i was fighting, then you are a fool and i should eat you." Churkan told the spectre and seemingly shrugged off being thrown against a wall with almost 1000 newtons behind it or he had been hit harder in the past and the pain he was feeling didn't faze him much. Still, he did let out a grunt of pain. "That, Spectre was just a disagreement." He told Tharen as he turned around.

"Cute." Tharen shot back. "See to it that your disagreements are verbal. Broktar here is a veteran of the Krogan Rebellions, says his dossier. He's got years on you. And restraint, it seems. You could learn a little something."

"I am Krogan, Spectre. We don't do verbal disagreements." Churkan told Tharen before turning to the old fossil. "Bah, am i meant to be impressed about the massive disagreement between us and the galaxy and you fighting in them? If so, you are a fool." He told the old fossil.

"I don't live to impress you, whelp." Broktar said dismissively. "But I advise against testing me, or trying to give me reason to kill you. You're supposed to be a C-Sec officer, so shut the hell up and do your job. THE job."

"Good as only fools live to impress others and always get eaten by the Maws on Tunchanka." Churkan told the fossil. "And your threats are pointless."

"How much do your dossiers have on us?" Cehan asked Tharen in an attempt to defuse the conflict.

Calor simply remained silent as the two Krogan bickered. A follow Elcor would no doubt be able to pick up on his disapproval of the fighting but as there wasn't to everyone else he just looked as stoic as ever.

"Plenty." Tharen told Cehan plainly. "I have a lot of information at my fingertips, Mr. Haraji."

The spectre pulled up his Omni-Tool and began going down the dossier for the Salarian in front of him. In the spirit of privacy he said nothing, but the gesture was enough to show that he knew a thing or two. "You've got outstanding technical skills, enough to make a Quarian jealous."

"Hope mine makes for an entertaining story about betrayal, explosives and brutal fights." Churkan said to Tharen with a smirk on his scarred face. Whether he was joking or not remained to be seen but knowing Churkan, it was most likely a form of boasting and maybe, he was being the one thing that all krogan don't do. Subtle!

"Whom, exactly?" Tharen asked, running a check on Cehan's family. As expected of a Salarian, there were a lot of results.

"Perok Haraji." Cehan supplied, clutching the arms of his chair in excitement, "My brother."

Calor stared at the Krogan C-Sec officer after he said he hoped the files on him were good. All he had seemed to have done since they met was tell stories about how impressive he was. I jumped out of an exploding shuttle this, I headed-butted a Marauder to death that. Calor was glad not all Krogan were like him and was hoping he'd run out of stories to tell soon. Unless it just meant he would tell the same ones, again.

Tharen scrolled down the 'P' entries on his omni-tool and found the entry on Perok Haraji. "Perok Haraji... Alive and active, last seen on... Well, on Space Station Omega. Still active in the Eclipse organization, serving under Eclipse Leader Sayn Robani."

To Broktar, Tharen pulled up yet another entry. "I'm afraid not, though I share your wants. My people make fine ships. Still, an Asari frigate will do; you'll all be voyaging on the Hestia. Commanding officer is one Captain Ce'mosa Takora, though you'll be serving as the primary ground team for the operation."

We only know him as Sayn in ME3 so I just gave him a random last name.

Cehan's face lit up with happiness. It wasn't much, but it was good to know he was still alive, even if he was working with Aria.

"I think you hired the wrong brother, sir." Cehan said wryly, "I'll do my best though, which isn't much..."

"Thank you." Tharen replied sincerely. "I wish you all the best of luck. I'll try to hold up things on my end as well."

You guys ready to begin the voyage and stuff, etc etc?

Thanks for sticking it out, btw. I know things have been moving slow.

"Asaaari." Broktar scratched his plate. "Yeah, I can make do. Frigate. Hestia. Definitely isn't any Destiny Ascension, but I'm sure she'll do fine. Asari make some pretty good ships."

"Think i saw that in action during the war." Churkan commented as he scratched his large chin. "Hope you're not expecting survivors as my shotgun loves meeting pirates." He told Tharen as he grinned.

And off we go!

The four mercs were bade farewell by Tharen, and were then allowed to board the Hestia.

Asari Frigate Hestia

The frigate was of recent make, commissioned just after the Reaper War as part of an initiative to replenish the Asari navy.

Upon boarding, the varied hired guns first saw the Combat Information Center of the ship. The information center itself was of a circular design, with a small path leading to the inside of the circle. The inside of the circle, with walls up to the hip-level of a normal human, provided a commanding officer with a central presence and full access to whatever she may need.

Indeed, there was an asari, her appearance being that of an Asari late in the Matron stage of her life. Upon seeing the new arrivals, she stepped out through the path out of the circle and approached.

"You must be the ground team the Spectre mentioned. Always nice to have some muscle aboard." she stated, saluting them out of politeness. "Captain Takora, Thessia Navy. Welcome to the Hestia."

Broktar reluctantly returned the salute. "Always better to have some brain with that muscle." He looked at the relatively small space of the CIC and subtly shook his head in disapproval. The Krogan veteran looked at Captain Takora again, with a question. "How sharp are the Hestia's teeth? Yeah, yeah, military secrets, I bet, but I'd like to know what sort of chance we have when we're out there." He looked around the interior of the ship. "Looks good from in here, but then, from here, I can't see what she can do."
