The article on adoption in Skyrim states that when asked how your children are doing, your spouse's voice type will determine their response. However, I can't seem to get spouses with the "Nord" response type to offer that dialogue option when living in a player-built home. At least not at Lakeview Manor.

I tested this with nearly all the applicable male NPCs (excluding Calder) to see if it was only affecting the first fellow I chose, but the dialogue option wasn't available for any of them. The same was true for Mjoll the Lioness, and I imagine Aeri would be no different. The option became available after I moved the family to a different home (Solitude to be specific), but it disappeared once more after moving back to Lakeview Monor. Just to be sure, I tried at least one spouse from each of the other "response types", but I encountered no such problem with their dialogue.

Has anyone else experienced a similar issue with "Nord" spousal interactions? Any ideas as to what could be causing it?

probably bad installation of Hearthfire , specifically few files of dialogue of nord voice type. i recommend check files thru steam if you have steam version or re-download/reinstall Hearthfire

I went ahead and picked an NPC I knew wouldn't have any dialogue issues, but I'll try that fix and test it in a new playthrough sometime. Thanks.

try fix it anyway , it wont do no harm (if you keep current load order) and you will be sure that any more Hearthfire problems due to bad installation wont crop up (ofcourse not counting normal bugs)

Oh, I already did. I just meant testing the fix would have to wait for a new playthrough. Haven't had the opportunity yet.
