Rayya won't dual-wield

I thought I'd have Rayya follow me around for a bit, so I gave her Bloodscythe and Soulrender to wield because HELLO AWESOMENESS. But even if in the middle of actual combat, she won't dual-wield them. At first she was automatically wielding one sword and a torch, so I took the torch from her in hopes the other sword would take its place. But then she started using a default follower bow (as I've never given her a bow) instead of even using one of the swords.

I'm playing vanilla Skyrim SE on the PS4, with no mods (as I'm working my way towards the platinum trophy). Rayya doesn't have any other weapons (two-handed or otherwise) in her inventory, which I've seen elsewhere could be the issue. I'm not sure what else to do! I'm bummed because they seem like the perfect weapons for her. :/

she only dual wields scimitars , the ones like that she initialy have

Well, as far as I know Bloodscythe and Soulrender are scimitars, albeit enchanted ones. Do you mean she only dual-wields plain ol' regular scimitars? If so, that's...really disappointing. :/
