Hi
Long time no play!
This is about my exp with random dragon attacks in Cities.

I see that dragon attack can be triggered when arriving at a city, or when exiting the city or while inside the city.
I am at level 55. Started the main quest early on, still not completed. Yet to meet the Whiterun Jarl about capturing a dragon.

Windhelm: Mostly while leaving/arriving the city. Never inside the city.
Solitude: While leaving. Once inside the city.
Whiterun: Never while leaving or arriving or inside. But so many attacks outside the city near Honningbrew Meadery / watch tower
Markarth: Hmm.. they don't come near this city. Not even once. I wonder why.
Riften: Daragon lair. I arrive they attack. I leave they attack. Inside city they don't leave me there too. 75% of the time, an attack is guaranteed.

Winterhold / Falkreath / Dawnstar: attacked
Morthal: Never

Ivarstead / Riverwood / Rorikstead: Never
Shor's Stone / Karthwasten / Dargonbridge : attacked

CoW: many times

I don't know why Riverwood and Markarth are avoided by the dragons.

How about other players?

I've had a couple of Riverwood attacks (Blacksmith got killed in one of those).

Non in Markarth that I can recall.

Solitude: Non inside the city. Some outside of (down the hill near the mill).

Whiterun: I think once inside the city. A couple outside over by the bridge area.

Windhelm: None inside. A few outside.

Riften: Don't remember any inside or outside. Maybe one flyby?

Winterhold: Many here, as well as at the college.

Dawnstar: Quite a few.

I don't go to Falkreath or Morthal really, so no stats for these.

Rorikstead and Ivarstead: A couple of times in both places.

Btw, I think I'm around level 40 something.

I've had dragons attack Riverwood, too. But Winterhold is easily the most attacked place across all of my games. Fast traveling or taking a carriage there is pretty much guaranteed to spawn a dragon.

One killed my blacksmith in Markarth. They happen there too, sadly.
