I've planted creep cluster in the gardens of both of my custom manors and in the indoor greenhouse but they seem to have stopped growing.

I planted all of them around the same time probably a month or so back, ( in real time). I've played for several hours each day since with little exception but there seems to be very little progress, if any.

Am I missing something?

Also, I've been back to the areas in Eastmarch where I originally harvested the creep cluster and it doesn't seem to be respawning there either.

Anybody understand what is or isn't happening here?

are you checking them only "by looks" or you come close to them and try to find "harvest" spot? my creep clusters grows fine, at same rate as other "crops" (2 or 3 days) tho i lately don't harvest them anymore since i no longer need to level or re-level my alchemy and i get enough ingredients while selling crap and i only ever use fort enchanting (very rarely) or fort smithing (also very rarely) potions
it may be one of your mods messing things or you just unlucky.
also things in wild should respawn in 30 days IF you don't go to that cell (area) and things that you plant should grow/regrow in 3 days also if you don't go to that area

When I approach them I am not getting a prompt to "harvest".

I just get an option to either plant or remove.

How do you avoid returning to an open zone such as Eastmarch? If it is as you say and you have to avoid the area for 30 days, where is the demarkation?

I could understand it if it was a closed area such as a cave or crypt where you can actually avoid entering.

I'm playing on PS4, so no mods have been used.

Apparently there is a bug in the 'Special Edition' version (which I assume is what's on the PS4) that stops you harvesting Creep Cluster unless you put it in the small greenhouse planters along the wall.

There's also some talk about the Creep Cluster being difficult to 'target' right - that the 'hitbox' for it is floating slightly above the plant and/or that you have to experiment with targeting it from different angles. Some people have said crouching down while trying to harvest can help.

Can't personally confirm any of that though.

Been playing for a couple of hours today and this is what I've concluded.

If you plant them in the so called "fertile soil" in the fenced off gardens of the 3 manors, you will lose all 33 of them. You can't even retrieve them from the ground by "digging them up". I've had to write off all of them.

The ones in the 3 planters and the surrounding pots in the greenhouse can be harvested but it is fiddly! I found that by crouching and moving the cursor up and down a fraction at a time I could eventually get the prompt for harvesting, particularly with the planters. The pots were a little easier, its just a case of standing next to the pot and pointing the cursor at the top of it.

You get a yield of 5 per plant, so if you fill your all planters and pots, you get a harvest each time of 5 x 18 = 90.

I have to report that I am still not getting any respawn of creep cluster in the volcanic areas of Eastmarch.

Surely this is something that vould be fixed by Bethesda - or aren't they bothered?

Don't hold your breath for it.

In the grand scheme of things this looks like a really minor bug. It's not game-breaking, there is a work-around (sort of) and it's basically only an annoyance to people who want to power-level Alchemy. At least that's how it seems to me. Unless the game sub-system that is causing this problem gets looked at in the process of fixing another more serious bug I don't think it will get sorted out.

tbh it's not so much that Beth 'can't be bothered' but that it's probably a really, really, inefficient use of Developer time & effort.

Also I just took a walk down the road from Windhelm to Fort Amol - nothing has respawned there for me either - not Creep Cluster, not mountain flowers, not even the monster encounters. It's not like I'm going up there every 5 minutes or anything.

things in nature does respawn for me like flowers and animals and bandits, but i rarely go south of windhelm (have not been in inside windhelm on this char but been to atronach stone few times and everything respawned) as everything do respawn in other open areas (like around lakeview) but it usualy takes from 10 days for bandits/items in non-cleared location to 30 days for everything in respawning location (most all exterior locations and most interior) but you must not go to that cell for it to reset . by cell i mean area cave or such or hundred square meters to square kilometer on outside.

It seems plain crazy that you can't even approach the whole of the Eastmarch hold for that period of time.

Everything else seems to respawn in next to no time at all, including the giants.

Quest givers send you there so how can you avoid going there?

I have a manor built literally on the edge of it. Crazy.

If you go after the giants at the giants camps you are also regionalising around where the creep cluster grows, so that means you can't go hunting for giants in the meantime.

This is only an example.

Looking for Jazbay Grapes other flora is also off limits it would seem.

giant camps and most other locations in open (in closed areas all locations is separate cells, some some are divided to few smaller) have its own cells

Exterior areas are divided into a grid of cells. You can't see the divisions in-game, aside from occasional buffering as more cells load in while you walk.
