I just started Dawnguard and I know at some point you have to choose between Dawnguard member or a vampire.
I think I want to choose vampire, but im wondering whether this will have an impact on the whole game upon completion of the quest line, namely:

Will I have to stay as a vampire?
As the vampire's mission is to blot out the sun; if we succeed, does this mean that Skyrim will be in darkness thereafter?

Im trying to find out the answers without seeing any spoilers.

NO you will not have to stay a vampire.
No its not your mission.
only difference is that npc do not speak so much to you if your a vamp, but that is yust my impresion. Vamp sid questline is really boring, for me atleast, and to kill huskies is a sin. :D

The random stuff falling from the sky is a glitch caused by the Creation Engine. It seems to either misplace the animal or item or someone messed up with the code and it was never fixed due to it being a very low priority. I think the unoffical Skyrim Patch fixes it. It fixes a lot of glitches that Bethesda couldn't or was unwilling to fix and we have a link to it on the wiki.

I got all the patches, and fixes posible, i think.

The loading screens vary from place to place I agree but on average how long would it normally take? I have been timing mine for the last 3 hours playing and seems to be consistent at 45-55 seconds. To me that's a lifetime. please if this isn't normal how can I fix this. I have been suffering with this 2 years now and at level 211 with 4th character. (I deleted everything each new character)

Do you have Skyrim installed to your HD? Make sure to minimize the amount of saves you have. The loading times never bothered me much.

No I use the disc. Always have. And I'm OCD about the amount of saves I have. Always overwriting the bottom save and only keeping the saves to the amount to never see the scroll bar on side. So yea. The loading times are ridiculous. Half the time I just prefer to run or whirlwind sprint in the general map. You can imagine how frustrating this got when completing thieves guild achievement.

You can install the disc into the hard drive. You can't play it without the disc, but it will run smoother and faster. You will at least need 3.8GB of space available, go to the xbox home, go to "Play Skyrim", press x(Game Details), and install the game.

That's my problem then. Can't install on the console. Space is too small. Only have the 3 DLC installed. And have 944 mb left. Possible to buy external HD for this idea? Or do I need another console altogether?

If you don't have an external HD for your Xbox, you should get one. Even if it's just to play Skyrim, having it installed makes a huge difference. Believe me, I've played with it uninstalled, and know the difference.

Thanks. If this works and I hope it does. I will still be PO'd for the last two years of being this naive.

I just got Skyrim Legendary Edition as part of TES Anthology, which I purchased in used condition. I'm trying to install Skyrim, I went through the Steam installation and registration, and now it's asking me for a product code. I looked everywhere on the packaging and can't find a product code for Skyrim.

What do I do at this point? Where can I find the product code? I need to be able to install all 5 games to make sure they're in working condition.

ETA: Okay, I found out where it should be. There's supposed to be a folded brochure that comes with the game. Mine was in "opened and resealed" condition, meaning they probably removed it. So basically I'm stuck with a copy of Skyrim that I can't play.

I returned the incomplete copy of TES Anthology to the retailer for a refund and went out and bought a new one. This time it had a working CD key and Skyrim finally installed. I can run it. Let that be a lesson, don't purchase a used copy of Skyrim, because the CD key is probably missing.

I know this is an old topic but I'm a little confused about Aela the huntress.. Is she essential after the companions questline or not?

I'm asking because I keep getting conflicting answers. One source states that she's essential all the time when another states she's essential until after the companions questline.

According to this site's own Wiki, Aela is Essential until "Glory of the Dead" is completed.

Hello.

Could somebody explain what does "~0" mean in the count of a merchant's item?
for example the Leveled Enchanted Jewelry of Moth gro-Bagol?

Hi.

That symbol is a Tilde and means 'around' or 'approximately'.

It basically means he is most likely to have zero pieces of Leveled Enchanted Jewelry in his inventory at any given time.
You could probably think of it as the 'average expected value' if that helps.

(On the other side of the table it says 'Max 2 (2@15%)' - so he could have up to 2 items for sale but there is only a 15% chance for each. I think doing the maths shows a 72% chance of there being zero items.)

A little quickie. I finally started Dragonborn and I'm wondering, what location or at least a container can I use for my storage at the beginning?

Here is a list of locations for Dragonborn that have safe storage.
Some of them aren't accessible til you initiate a quest, so not great for starting out (e.g. the Abandoned Lodge).

Thanks, though the only place from the list within Raven Rock is a manor that'll come later during game. I was hoping there's somethnig else within Raven Rock where I could store things for a while...a simple non-respawning container would do.

Doing a search, I've seen a couple of people mention that East Empire Company Strongboxes don't respawn, therefore should be safe to store your things.

There is one underneath the dock next to the Northern Maiden that you could use.

I recommend waiting for 10 days to check the box hasn't respawned though, just to be on the safe side. Hopefully this should mean it's ok, but not 100% certain if it is a sure thing.

Why does Cosnach prefer a glass dagger over a 13 dam war axe, or a 14 dam mace? Is dps of the dagger better?

Its lighter. You can carry and collect more to trade.

Just a glass one. My PC isn't a smith. Or a fighter. Or an enchanter. Not much of a looter either, but she will take anything Cosnach might use.
Should he find a new boss? He can always go back to propping up a bar.
