Vampirism in Skyrim

Thu Mar 02, 2017 5:42 pm

Somehow or other I've contracted vampirism.

I don't really understand what I should do. I am getting messages telling me my bloods boiling in the sunshine etcetra, etcetra, but I'm still functioning in the daylight - unlike in Oblivion where if you contracted vampirism and let it fester, you ended up having to either stay indoors or only operate at night.

I've tried activating shrines for a cure and I've taken potions, but I've still got the affliction.

Reading the official guide, I've been to Morthal and sought out Falion. He is not offering anything in his dialogue.

I hadn't really intended on being a vampire this early on in the game and being on PS4 I have no previous game save I can access so I can't realistically backtrack.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Have you already talked to an inn-keeper, or did you go straight to Falion?

As mentioned above you might need to keep asking innkeepers for rumors until you get the one about Falion on the off-chance that is required before his dialogue will appear.

If you're a member of Dawnguard you may need to talk to one of them first to get pointed to Falion.

And then try talking to Falion at different times in the day. Like shop-hours, and then 6pm onwards for example.

If that fails joining the Companions will cure your vampirism after a couple of quests...

I have sought out Falion without consulting an innkeeper first - I think that's my mistake!

Reading a little deeper, referring to both the Wiki and the guide, it appears that the innkeeper is the trigger to the quest line.

I'll have a crack tomorrow, as I've spent another 4 hours on it today, much to the wife's chagrin!

This game is so addictive!
