I just completed the main quest and decided to pick up the word walls I missed. I found some and I get the chant and crackling sound when I get close but the words don't light up and I don't get the word. Anyone else experienced this?

How many has this happened to?
Does it do this to all of them, or just a few?
I have to get real close to them, for them to finish up, and give me the Dragon Shout/word Learned update. However, they do light up, and give off the crackling electricity effect.
I have not had this exactlly happen, and have not read about it yet.

i've only checked it with two. Dead crone rock and shalidor's maze. they were the first two I've checked since winning the main quest.

Only had that happen to the one in the Dark Brotherhood sanctuary after I'd already gotten the word. But each time I went back in it would crackle and light slightly and then dim & quiet when I closed in on it.
I've had trouble getting all my dragon souls. Some I get and some I don't. Had two dragons at once today and only got one soul.

Yeah but these are words I haven't come across yet. This is the first time I bought an elder scroll game right off the bat. They sure are buggy when they come right out.

Only thing I've been able to find to fix that is for the PC, something about import/export.

Update. I found the only two word walls I hadn;t found yet, they worked. So it's on;y dead crone and labyrinthian that aren't couhing up the words. Does laby take going through the maze to unlock? I bypassed the maze. The thing is also I coulda swore i got dead crone unlocked already.

Are you saying that you have all but two of the Dragon Shouts found?
You could check here or the two words you are missing, and then check the other locations for that shout/word:
http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dragon_ShoutsAre all Dragon Shout Locations showing as Cleared? (there has been a few for me, which do not show as cleared, and I have gone back to clear them a second time).
The odd thing is that you get the music for the word wall, but not the lighting up of the word. If you did not get the music, and the word did not light up, I would just think you had already cleared that location.

Yeah I had completed the main quest and went back to pick up shouts I hadn't found. Dead crone I had already cleared and I thought I had already found the wall. Labyrinthian hadn't been cleared and I missed the wall in shalidor's maze when going through it for other quests. I checked other walls to see if all remaining walls were bugged. I found the only other two I hadn't already found and they coughed up the words.

I am having the same issue with both places. I have "fear" for Dismay, but can't recall if I got it at Labyrinthian or Crone's Rock. Neither seem to be activating though. Is this a common bug then and can it be remedied on the Xbox 360?
