I find it kinda hard to believe that you would become a god in the first DLC. If that happened, I would assume it would be in the last expansion pack

Anyway I have a seperate question, coming from someone who has never bought an A La Cart DLC (always get GOTY for games I want the DLC for). Can I get DLC (specifically Dawnguard) from like Gamestop or something? Because my internet is too slow for XBoxLive, so downloading it form the Marketplace is outta the question.

But while we are herte, it dont mean power, glowing eyes can mean anything, maybe your guy gets possed, maybe its him asorb ing a dragon soul and his eyes turn that colour maybe your under someone spell.

Yeah, that is number one on my list too. Though I can't say I'd be disappointed if this was for Meridia.

this.

EDIT: Just had a thought, perhaps you could make the player able to be a god in the first DLC. If you did it in away similar to how you ruled the shivering isles, you were the ruler in the realm but no different in Cyrodil(sorry if spelt it wrong). Would it be possible for you to be a god of some description in one plane and unchanged in skyrim? hmm.

Also It doesn't seem particularly "bethesda" to make someone really powerfull they've sorta been about making someone into a hero but still not going as far as a god... kinda hard to explain what i mean haha but i hope you get the jist of it.

As well as that I'm also more of a fan of playing as an everyday hero rather then an almighty being :S just my 2 cents.

They told us it would be a "tidbit" and to "Manage Expectations" so...for me this is expected :). But it doesn't make the wait easier :S

If you get skyrim for the pc theres a mod for that :P

But then you would be waiting an extra month for dlc and i dont really think a mod is worth that lol

I'm not too knowledgeable about computers, etc...but would someone mind explaning to me how it would work if you get a mod, such as werewolf perk tree, and then the dlc comes out with the same thing in the summer? would they be compatible? would you still be able to use the dlc content which would be better anyway?

It depends, but for the most part no, but mods can be removed easily.

my two cents

I bet the vampire animations are just the new animations from the jam week. Just standing up bites, etc. Not essential to the new questline

I think its a good sign that its just an announcement. Yeah, they have been doing good work fixing bugs and things like that, but im sure their whole team hasnt been doing that. That they have spent this much time working on it, whereas DLCs for fallout NV were coming out every 3 months or so, shows that this will have some meat on it.

I dont want to play through most of a DLC in a weekend

But here's the thing by all means we can become a God, but our power wouldn't reach to the level of Akatosh's or even one of the princes with out worship. So while yes divinity would be out of place in the first DLC (however if I have any faith in Bethesda's, writing that's something to be held off for a while and made true hopefully) I stand by the DB becoming more Aedric, she/he's becoming Dawn's Guard. Defender of Tamriel, Dawn's Beauty, and the Gods' favored land, Shor and Akatosh have already given him/her their blessings, why too should the other 8(7?) divines deny him the position.

My reformed Guess, she/he is defending Tamriel and has reached some elevated state of existence, she/he is the first Hero we've been introduced to be someone. Every other Hero was a nobody who had to earn his claim to fame and power, the DB was born with /herhis power, he/she can only go so much further with this powerful Aedric Blessing.

So whoever we may be facing, Thalmor, Dwemer, Dragons, Falmer, they should know they're now up against Dovahkhiin 2.0.

So in this picture, the dovahkiin has red eyes. Vampires have red eyes. Recently vampire files were found in the latest patch. Get where I'm going. I suspect vampirism will play a big part of this DLC. A bit like werewolves did in bloodmoon.

So far all I'm getting from the released image is dodgy contact lenses and an escort quest where you guard an NPC called Dawn. I'm just keeping my expectations low here, this way whatever comes out has to better.

Yet. What appears to be a minor and pointless update can lead to much much more. Seeing as we can't stand up and bite anyone, likely means that animation isn't meant for us and they don't give random NPCs new animations for [&@%!] and giggles.

That's impossible on so many levels lol.
We never actually see the Snow Prince's body in Morrowind it's just empty armor so seeing as Vampires getting new updates It's likely the Snow Prince was inflicted with vampirism and wandered off out of his tome (which I believe was sealed so it's not like anyone was gonna be checking) and disappeared into the night, which isn't hard on Solstheim. There's like almost no one up there except for Thirsk Hall and the Nord village. The fort didn't come until much much later and even then it wouldn't be hard to get off the island unnoticed.

Especially if you're supposed to be dead.

what he means i think is that the new animations will be for us.. that vampires will be getting improved in that sense. As well as the apparent hypnosis ability

That's not really true though, as the PC in Morrowind was born the Nerevarine, the incarnation of Nerevar.

Yep, we already knew that the next DLC was to be called Dawnguard, we already knew the XBOX was getting it first, so all we really got today was an image, a vague timeline and an announcement to watch out for E3. Typical

Can someone who knows more about programming explain to me what the reason for including DLC files on the last update was? Why not just include them in the actual DLC?
