Larawen, Bosmer assassin, is a former Aldmeri Dominion covert ops soldier turned sell-sword, a deserter hunted by the Thalmor, and is good at following orders. Her purpose is to play the Dark Brotherhood questline for my first time and do a few other things that weren't suited for my main character, Delia-Jessamine Maric, Breton stealth-mage. I consider Larawen, Jess, and a couple of future characters to co-exist in the same Skyrim, so they won't overlap on the major stuff they do - as for the aspects of that which don't make sense, I'll just not worry about it.

To make Larawen's build reflect her backstory, I used the Oghma Infinium exploit to level her to 81. As a result, she is also getting an "alternate start", meaning that for role-play purposes, she was not at Helgen when Alduin attacked, and the stuff I had to do to prep the character will be ignored. Her backstory accounts for how she already has a house and whatnot.

She is a morally neutral character who is on a mission (THE mission), a true professional who does not kill for pleasure, nor has any interest in the religious aspects of the DB. Hopefully, some interesting conflicts of personality and ethics will arise along the way.

Basic stuff
Spoiler:
Name: Larawen
Race/class/sex: Bosmer assassin, female
Birthsign: The Lady
Age: 60 - I'm assuming that's equivalent to about 30 in human years.
Purpose: Kill Titus Mede II. Become thane of Falkreath and/or Hjaalmarch.
Ethics: Lawful Neutral. Larawen follows society's laws except when they are superceded by the requirements of her job. She doesn't question authority unless authority proves untrustworthy.
Dragonborn status: Pseudo-Dragonborn. An imposter who can absorb dragon souls. That is based on a line from Arngeir - when asked if there are other Dragonborns in the world, he says he doesn't know. The answer, Arngeir, in my version of Skyrim is "sort of". Larawen might be mistaken for the Dragonborn. She has some ability to learn shouts and use the Thu'um. She has completed Dragon Rising so already knows "Fus", but she will not advance the MQ any further. I don't think that shouting is going to be a significant part of the character - in fact, I might limit her to "Fus" and "Kyne's Peace" since I think the latter would suit the character and I expect she will learn some words from that shout. Oh, and "Slow Time". And...
Faction: Dark Brotherhood
Civil War: Neutral.
Personality: Larawen is comfortable following orders and prioritizing her mission ahead of personal morals. She is very serious and lacks a sense of humor. Has empathy, but doesn't sympathize with her targets. Views killing as a professional matter and does not find pleasure in it. Outside of work, she is law-abiding. She loses herself in reading, hunting, and freelance wood-chopping, feeling it is good, honest labor. She would like to make some friends and even to marry, but her personality has driven away previous suitors.
Religion: Prays to Z'en (Zenithar).
Diet: Primarily meat, especially wild game and fish, preferably raw. Will also eat cheese and bread. Rarely consumes alcohol. No drugs.
Motivators: Exceeding expectations on the job. Getting paid. Finding friendship and/or a mate.

Skills and Combat stuff
Spoiler:
Difficulty: Master Expert - Combat was too much of a slog on Master. I hate long drawn-out fights. Larawen still dies occasionally on Expert, so it's challenging enough for me. Some of my self-imposed rules make combat more difficult, anyway. I found that Expert difficulty with good weapons and not-so-good armor usually provides the kind of combat I prefer: Short but often intense. Some enemies, e.g. other archers, are capable of killing Larawen pretty quickly - which is a good thing. Though against dragons, combat still drags out a bit too much, especially without having Dragonrend.
Fighting style: Primarily a stealthy archer, but she is good with a dagger, too. Occasionally uses shock or fire spells. Never carries a shield, but may block/bash with a weapon. She is also good at avoiding fights using calming spells.
Most important skills: Alchemy, Archery, Illusion, Pickpocket, Restoration, Sneak
Supporting skills: All except Conjuration, Heavy Armor, and Two-handed.
Crafting: Excellent alchemist especially with poisons. Excellent jewelry enchanter, and can apply Shock damage to weapons, but does not know how to enchant armor. Knows how to smith weapons but not armor.
Wearing and wielding: Good weapons, not-so-good armor. Larawen is using a Legendary-tempered Ebony bow with a Shock damage effect, and a Legendary-tempered Ebony dagger (unenchanted). Eventually, she'll use the Blade of Woe, too. She uses the Savior's Hide with fur bracers and shoes as her standard armor, and the Dark Brotherhood Shrouded stuff when appropriate. All of her armor is in original condition. Wears custom enchanted rings and circlets. Wears an Amulet of Zenithar which she will never remove unless required for a quest, e.g., marriage. Does not use a shield or helmet, ever. Wears regular clothing for everyday life. Carries a woodcutter's axe everywhere she goes.

Backstory (contains made-up lore and speculation)
Spoiler:
Larawen is from the forest of northern Valenwood. She is a descendant of the thief Methredhel, who was a friend of the Champion of Cyrodiil, Delia Dalomax. Larawen was respectful of elders, teachers, and other authority figures, was shy, and had no friends. When Larawen came of age at 30, she joined the Aldmeri military and served for 25 years.

The Great War had ended with the Mede Empire signing over its soul, but there was still work to be done in Hammerfell and other provinces. Larawen proved to be an extremely capable soldier. She became a covert operations officer, carrying out secret missions that included assassinations. She helped hunt down the Blades.

The purges in Valenwood made Larawen question the rightness of their cause for the first time, but that was not why she deserted the Aldmeri military. Larawen deserted after killing a superior officer who tried to rape her. She fled to Cyrodiil and worked as a sell-sword for five years, but was captured by the Thalmor and sent back to Alinor.

While awaiting execution, she was broken out of prison and whisked back to Cyrodiil by a mysterious benefactor (me, I guess) who asked her to be his agent in Skyrim. Feeling bound to her benefactor, Larawen accepted. She was told to enter Skyrim and make her way to Riften, where her employer had arranged, through a local businesswoman named Maven Black-Briar, a fake Thaneship and the use of a house for a short time. She was promised an initial "good faith" payment of 10,000 septims.

Larawen's mission is so secret and sensitive that she was not even told what it is. She was advised to listen for rumors and use her judgement to get on the right track. She will know that she is on the right track when she meets someone named Astrid.

Before leaving Cyrodiil, Larawen met a mercenary named Jenassa who was also heading for Skyrim. The two got along and decided to travel together. They entered Skyrim via the crossing near Pale Pass and set Helgen as their next destination. Little did they know that Helgen had been destroyed by a dragon a few weeks earlier.

Build
Spoiler:
Health 500
Magicka 400
Stamina 200
Alchemy: Alchemist 5/5, Physician, Poisoner, Concentrated Poison
Alteration: Adept, Magic Resistance 3/3
Archery: Overdraw 5/5, Eagle Eye, Power Shot, Quick Shot
Block: Shield Wall 1/5, Power Bash
Destruction: Apprentice, Augmented Shock 2/2
Enchanting: Enchanter 5/5, Insightful, Corpus, Extra Effect
Illusion: Expert, Dual Casting, Hypnotic Gaze, Animage, Kindred Mage, Quiet Casting, Master of the Mind
Light Armor: Agile Defender 2/5 Note to self: Never take armor perks again. Even without tempering, armor ratings are too high for my taste.
One-handed: Armsman 5/5
Pickpocket: Light Fingers 1/5, Night Thief, Poisoned, Cutpurse, Misdirection, Perfect Touch
Restoration: Adept, Regeneration, Recovery 2/2
Smithing: Steel, Arcane
Sneak: Stealth 5/5, Muffled Movement, Backstab, Deadly Aim, Assassin's Blade
Speech: Haggling 1/5, Bribery, Persuasion, Intimidation

Some roleplay stuff
Spoiler:
Combat:
No drinking potions or applying poisons in the heat of battle. Must get out of immediate danger before entering inventory. Only Favorited items/spells can be switched during combat.
No shields. Can block/bash with weapons only.

Enchanting:
No enchanted armor except for Savior's Hide or Dark Brotherhood armor.
Shock damage is the only enchantment she can apply to a weapon.
Can enchant jewelry and some clothing items (i.e., Fortify Smithing/Alchemy on apron and gloves).

Smithing:
Armor must be kept in original condition, no tempering... except armor for followers, which can be improved.
Weapons can be tempered to whatever level provides combat balance.
Tempering weapons requires Dwarven Oil - 4 for a sword or bow, 2 for a dagger.

Alchemy:
Keep Skyrim beautiful. No flower-picking.

Spells:
Adept or lower shock and fire spells, only.
No abusing Paralyze spell. It can be used only very rarely.
No Invisibility or Transmute Mineral Ore spells, period. In lieu of the Invisibility spell, she can carry one Invisibility potion.
No Conjuring or Soul-Trapping.

Conduct:
No stealing unless quest-related. She isn't a thief.
No murder except on Dark Brotherhood orders.
Avoid killing animals except for eating (but trolls, spiders, and chaurus can be slaughtered mercilessly).
Don't over-promise. Avoid having a long list of unfinished quests.

Everyday life:
Eat every day, preferably twice.
Sleep regularly.
Take time to read.
Chop wood for people even when she doesn't need the money.
Pray to Zenithar regularly whether she needs to or not.
Be a pal and buy game from other hunters.
Drinking in moderation. No drugs.
Bathe regularly in streams, lakes, ponds, etc when in the wild (in homes or inns, I assume the character bathes in unseen bath tubs when I'm not looking).
Dress to fit the occasion.
Take clothes off for swimming. Don't run around in wet clothes.

Probably others I'm forgetting...

Adrian's family moved to Whiterun in Skyrim from Cyrodiil when Adrian was very young. He always looked up to the Companions and wished he belonged to them. Then he escaped from the dragon. In Whiterun he found out that he didnt have a bounty anymore and the real murderer was sent to the block. He was finally able to join the Companions. Been gone a while. Started remaking my Nord Thief/cut-throat/sniper.

Name: Vidgar the Ne'er-do-well
Race/gender: Nord/male
Class: Thief
Major skills: Sneak/One handed (Single dagger only)
Minor skills: Blacksmith/archery
Standing Stone: The Thief
Political standing: Neutral

My playstyle right now is to get archery and sneak up to a decent level until I can start cutting necks. I have Valdr's Lucky Dagger and a hunting bow as well as Gunjar's Stormcloak Armor from the game's start. When I get to Whiterun I'll probably wuss out and get a Skyforge steel sword to fight hairy fights with, but I'm going to try and be pure stealth when possible.

Vidgar is a rogue traveling from place to place thieving and robbing for money. He was an orphan and had a troubled youth. He's very street-smart and quickly procures criminal business contacts in the less savory parts of towns. Having spent a good deal of time in jail, his methods have become meticulous and calculated, though he's not afraid to use a little muscle if he can't convince or bribe someone to get something he wants.

The character I've been playing recently. . took a lot of failed attempts at different characters, backstories and builds to get to this one. I really enjoy her so far so she looks like a keeper.

Name: Lilija
Race: Nord (Imperial father)
Birthdate: 18 First Seed
Birthsign: The Lord
Age: 24
Birthplace: Imperial City, Cyrodiil

Alignment: Lawful Good (suuuper Lawful Good)
MBTI Personality: ESTJ
Overall Personality: dutiful, protective, down-to-earth, devoted, charitable, helpful, trusting, kind (to those she feels deserves it; she can be blunt and even cruel to the unjust)
Motivation (s): initially to travel her mother's homeland of Skyrim; she now seeks to use her Divine-given powers as Dragonborn to protect the people of Skyrim from all who would harm them, supernatural and otherwise; bringing Skyrim back to the Empire

Class: Paladin
Skills: One-handed, Block, Heavy Armor, Restoration, Smithing, Speech, Enchanting, Alteration
Fighting Style: Defense-oriented & melee based; blocks until she finds an opening, uses Restoration for support. Relies on companion for ranged support.

Dragonborn: Yes
Guilds: (eventually) Companions, Dawnguard
Thaneships: While I plan on acquiring most of them, I will recognize those in roleplay as her being a hero in the Jarl's eyes. She will only actually be Thane of Whiterun and Haafingar.
Civil War: Empire
Religion: highly devoted to the Eight Divines, with special reverence for Stendarr, Arkay and Mara
MQ: Blades (some may view her as evil for this, but she views it as justice long overdue)

Home: Breezehome for now, will reside in Proudspire Manor once the war is over
Husband: None, may marry in the future
Children: None at the time of this post, but she is planning to adopt Lucia and probably Sofie once she meets her
Housecarl: Lydia (Jordis will be RPed as just a sworn sword that guards her home and family)

Arcturus has a daughter. Yay!

Hidden:
Names: Lucia Ember-Heart
Race: Nord
Year of Birth: 4E 224
Place of Birth: Morthal, Skyrim
Birthsign: The Steed
Class: Warrior
Alignment Lawful Good
Titles: Daughter of the Jarl of Hjaalmarch, Imperial Captain
Current level: N/A
Dragonborn: No
Personality: Lucia is a level-headed, no-nonsense individual that enjoys living a life of stability. While she follows rules of societies, she also has her own personal set of rules that she likes to abide by. If she feels she has broken any of her personal rules, she subjects herself to self loathing an harsh criticism. Lucia's drive to better herself is born of her fierce rivalry with her older brother Valedus, whom she hopes to surpass in battle and prove herself to be the better of the children of Arcturus. When not in a battle scenario, Rowena is a sarcastic, often stern character that doesn't smile often. She can be described as emotionally-restrained, as she has a hard time opening up to others and very rarely does. She is trying to better her social skills, but is struggling.
Goals in life: To drive the Thalmor out of Skyrim, to surpass her brother in every aspect of combat, to become a warrior worthy of her great father.

Fighting style: Trained by her father. Fights exclusively with a sword and shield. Will use her war cry when in trouble. Has no 'panic button' like her father's Ritual Stone power; she instead relies on her own ability entirely.
Major skills: One handed, heavy armor, block
Supporting skills: Smithing
Crafting: Has a rudimentary knowledge of smithing and alchemy.

Weapons: One-handed dwarven sword (unenchanted, so far), Antique Orcish Shield inherited from her father.
Apparel/Equipment: A full suit of ebony armor sans helmet; wears an enchanted circlet in place of a helmet. Keeps an amulet of Zenithar around her neck.

Factions: Imperial Legion, Imperial Resistance
Thaneships: Hjaalmarch

Civil War: 20 years hence of the civil war, the imperials won the civil war and are now dealing with the Thalmor finally pressing their forces on Skyrim and the surrounding areas to complete their conquet of Tamriel.

Family:[b]Arcturus Ember-Heart (Father, General of the Imperial Legion, Jarl of Hjaalmarch, Sylgja (Mother, Jarlessa of Hjaalmarch), Valedus Ember-Heart (Elder Brother)

Friends: Anekke Crag-Jumper, Valedus, Stenvar, Marcurio

Religion:Pays Homage to Zenithar mostly because of his patronage of hard work and diligence. Occasionally praises Talos in battle. Largely irreligious.
Backstory:
Spoiler:
Lucia is the daughter of Arcturus Ember-Heart, the hero of the Legion and the man who drove the Stormcloaks out of Skyrim and killed Ulfric himself.

In the years since the victory over the Stormcloaks, relations between the Thalmor and the Empire worsened as many world-changing events rocked all of Skyrim. The Dohvakiin was revealed and drove the world eater Alduin out of Skyrim; A dark elf named Rylvyr solved a conspiracy at the College of Winterhold and became the Archmage; a young nord man named Berethor proved himself to the Companions and became the new Harbinger; A lithe khajiit thief named Skrii'ta became Guildmistress of the Thieves guild; and a deadly Argonian named Dances-With-Blades took over the Dark Brotherhood.

With all of these events occurring, the Thalmor sent their full force into Skyrim once the Dohvakiin disappeared into parts unknown. Arcturus, now General of the Legion in Skyrim after the death of General Tullius, organized the defense of his beloved Homeland from the approaching Thalmor, who used the region of High Rock to secure safe passage of their forces.

With all of Skyrim becoming a warzone once more, Lucia and her brother have been tasked by their father to speak to the regional factions to help them with their predicament and drive the Thalmor back, to prove once and for all that the Empire is not to be trifled with.

The rest will be seen in the TES Roleplayer's thread, where Lucia's story will someday be posted.

This is the character I'm going to start once I finish her backstory.
I rolled some of these (and a whole lot of additional stuff) using two different character creation tools.

Name: Ingrid Snow-Song
Race: Nord
Birthsign: The Lord (I admit, it's because I want to use the Lord Stone; fortunately Character Creation Overhaul allows me to pick it during chargen, so I don't need to go find the Stone)
Birthday: 22nd of First Seed
Class: n/a
Major Skills: Heavy Weaponry (2-H), Heavy Armour, Smithing, Marksmanship, Fingersmith*, Wayfarer*)
Alignment: True Neutral (I took a test and used the result for my character)
Other details: Fears spiders, hates both vampires and werewolves, likes cooking and horses.
Factions: Will eventually join the Companions (I have a mod that hugely enhances the guild, and it's my favourite faction anyway) and Dawnguard. Won't be able to avoid the CoW, because it's tied to so many things; will have to come up with some reasoning for going there once the time comes. Will destroy both the DB and TG.
Civil War: Stormcloaks
MQ alliance: Greybeards/Paarthurnax (I have never even finished "Alduin's Bane" on PC, thanks to my dragon mods... but maybe this time I'll get through it )

She'll be starting in the Rift (rolled that one), which means I'll be using my favourite Live Another Life start (warlock's thrall).
Should be fun, especially since I'm going to be keeping an in-game journal again. :D

*I'm using SkyRe, which combines Lockpicking and Pickpocket into Fingersmith and replaces the Lockpicking tree with Wayfarer. I never, ever use Pickpocket so this change is perfect for me.

I have couple of characters I haven't remembered to introduce here.

Name: Licinia Selvanis
Gender: female
Race: imperial
Class/build: battlemage
Age: 19
Birthblace: Chorrol, Cyrodiil
Major skills: Destruction, conjuration, illusion, alteration
Minor skills: one-handed, enchanting, heavy or light armour(I haven't made up my mind yet), archery.
Wears and wields: Studded imperial armour, nordig steel bracers and steel boots, various enchanted circlets or novice hood. As a weapon, she uses mostly conjured sword (has a dagger and Axe of Whiterun as a back up), Zephyr-bow.
Factions: Imperil Legion, thane of Whiterun

Backgroud: Born as a daughter of Imperial Legion's battlemage Raghad Selvanis (he's actually half redguard/half imperial) and more scholary mage Veronica Riojas. Her father served in the Great War, she was born just after it ended. Her mother studied ayleids and other ancient mer-races. She had a military-brat's childhood, the family moved around all over Tamriel, living wherever Raghad's Cohort was stationed or where Veronica's studies took them. When Licinia was 13, her mother died while exploring Ayleid-ruins. There was talk that Thalmor had set her up a trap there, because she was getting too close to some ancient secret they wanted to keep buried in the past. After his wife's death, Raghad flipped, resigned the Legion...last time anybody heard of him, he was orginizing anti-thalmor raids either from A'likr desert or from Stros M'kai. Licinia lived with her aunt, Julianna Riojas, in Chorrol until she was old enough to enroll to Legion. She showed apptitude to magic from early age and became battlemage at young age. Then a General of Shadow Legion hand picked her and send her in covert mission to Skyrim. There was some misunderstanding when she crossed the border. Because she couldn't tell why she was there, she was thought of being a deserter and tossed to same cart with captured Stormcloaks.

*********************************************************************

Name: Auri Leafblade
Gender: female
Race: bosmer
Class/build: warrior/ranger
Age: middle aged
Birthblace: Valenwood
Major skills: one-handed (dual-wielding), archery, light armour
Minor skills: alchemy, sneak, smithing
Wears and wields: leather-armour set/Savior's Hide, Bolar's Oathblade, Blade of Falkreath, Bow of the Hunt.
Factions: Thane of Falkreath, Companions

Middle-aged, battle harded and -scarred, her reasons to be in Skyrim are yet shrouded with mystery. She is a follower of Hircine.

****************************************************************************
Name: Crixius (II), remade him and deleted the first version
Race: imperial
Job: gladiator (former Arena Fighter)
Age: arond 30 tiesh
Birthplace: Imperial City
Wields and Wears: Imperial sword (2 of them), steel dagger, Whiterun guard shield, hide armour, hide bracers and leather boots. Has bow too.
Personality: guick tempered, passionate and violent warrior, he's the kind who keeps hacking already dead body.

Crixius is quick-moving fighter who fights dimachaerus-style (dual wielding swords or sword and dagger). He's a son of a tavern worker and his father may be breton...his mother isn't 100 % sure who the father is... He was the champion of the Yellow team and the stongest bet for next Grand Champion when he commited a crime that forced him to escape Cyrodiil. (violent temper+lady+ False accusation = 3 dead bodies...one of them was high ranking officer of Imperial Legion). A border patrol identified him when he was crossing border to Skyrim. There was too many of them, Crixius was overpowered, stripped, tied and tossed to same cart with some Stormcloak-rebels and a horse thief.

Name: Faldlen
Race/Gender: Male Bosmer
"Class": Adventurer/Hunter

Mechanics:

Primary Skills: Two-Handed, Archery, Light Armor
Secondary Skills: Speech, Block
Crafting Skill: Smithing

Notes:

Faldlen is a young bosmer from Valenwood, and a supporter of the Aldmeri Dominion. Full of wanderlust and a need to explore, he is often wandering from place to place, and found himself hunting just outside of Riverwood one day. This is where he picked up a more of an adventurer's streak, hunting bandits and the like as much as beasts. That life suited him just fine, and he now wanders Skyrim looking for more.

Though like all bosmer, he follows the Green Pack, he is much less strict on it. He's not obviously cannibalistic (yet,) and has no issues with working with non-Valenwood wood. He's even started to eat some vegetable material thanks to the insistence of a fellow adventurer, though he hates the taste of a lot of vegetables.

Other: That Alternate Start - Live Another Life mod is just awesome. I'm doing a lot of restrictions with this guy that I think will make things more interesting, such as doing as much of a Potion-free run as I can, relying strictly on food and eventually the Ring of Namira for health regen. I'm also limiting myself to no more than 60 arrows at a time. And I'll fletch my own arrows (being a bosmer, who would know more about arrows than him?) and sell off the excess. Which is why I'm focusing more on Melee abilities than I normally would with a bosmer. He's turning out to be quite enjoyable so far.

Name: Ricimer Dufont
Race: Breton
Age: 29
Main skills: Speechcraft, Alchemy, Alteration, Enchanting

In honour of my new rig that actually can run Skyrim smoothly at high(-ish) settings, I decided to make a brand new character. I couldn't think an original first name for him, so I named him after a 5th century West-Roman magister militum. I should have named him Asterix, though. Because he sports a huge blond moustache and is short. I only realised the resemblance after an hour of play.

Backstory: Ricimer was born in Jehanna as the second son of a petty merchant. His father could not afford to provide him with any full-blown education, so he was only schooled in a smattering of some trading skills and scraps of the magical arts. At 19 he asked to receive his share of his father's fortune in money, in order to try his own fortunes elsewhere. Because the family business didn't need many managers, his request was granted.

After receiving the money he wandered around High Rock as a travelling merchant and showman, using his meagre knowledge of Alteration and Illusion in the latter occupation. He traded mainly in alchemic potions he himself had brewed and cheap, weakly enchanted trinkets.

The times weren't good, though, and soon his business was beginning to dry up. Therefore, he moved to Cyrodill which was more prosperous and populous than High Rock. Of course, there were also many other showmen and merchants like him, so competition was hard. Because of this he began to think about moving to Skyrim. He had heard there wouldn't be so much competition in the alchemical and enchanting fields, and that despite the civil war business could be good. Besides, the war seemed to have settled into a simmering, low-level guerrilla conflict so the risks looked small.

The deciding moment came, when he was in Bruma. An anti-Thalmor riot broke out, and Ricimer was caught in the middle of it. He had no interest in politics aside from moderate patriotism towards the Empire, so he tried to get away. The throng prevented him from this, however, until a group of cavalry charged the mob and dispersed it. A trooper grabbed his collar and dragged him away. After a brief arrest he was released. But a week later he heard a rumour that the Thalmor had heard about the riot. It was said that they suspected that some people who had newly arrived in Bruma had been agents of a pro-Talos conspiracy and incited the riot. This description, unfortunately, could also be fitted to Ricimer.

Ricimer had heard about the operating methods of the Thalmor. So, although the whole thing was just a rumour he didn't have any inclination to take the slightest risk. He packed his things and started northwards, intending to move to Skyrim for at least as long as it would take to things quiet down. Near the border he took a mountain path that seemed to be a shortcut when compared to the main road. In his haste he didn't stop for the night, but pressed on in darkness.

As a result he lost his way, and stumbled amidst stones and roots. Finally he fell into a stream and was carried down some rapids. He survived, but all his possessions were washed away and his clothes were torn. He managed to get onto the bank of the stream, and spent the rest of the night huddling under a fir. When dawn broke, he could not ascertain where he was. His only option was to press northwards, half-naked and bruised as he was. After a few hours' difficult trek he heard low voices speaking in a thicket. He drew closer to see who they were, but suddenly was seized by a pair of Imperial soldiers who sprang from the bushes. He was gagged and bound, as a suspected Stormcloak scout. He had stumbled on the very same ambush that captured Ulfric an hour later.

After the scuffle was over, Ricimer's protests and pleas effected only so much that the Imperial commander of the unit that had caught him desisted from killing him outright. He was also thrown a set of ragged clothes to keep him warm. He was, however, still under suspicion and was to be carted along with the other prisoners somewhere where he could be investigated. The female captain's decision to execute him anyway came as a horrible shock to him. After Alduin rode to the rescue he escaped with Hadvar, but only because he didn't have any better ideas. Well, and the rest is history (or rather, gameplay).

Name: Esther
Race: Nord
Main skills: Heavy Armour, Heavy Weaponry, Enchanting, Alchemy, Block and Conjuration

Backstory:
Hidden:
Esther was born in Skyrim, but her family moved to Leyawiin when she was three years old. Her father died four years later (bandit attack), and her mother found a new husband not half a year after that.
This new step-father was an extremely loyal soldier of the Imperial Legion. As soon as Esther came of age, he forced her to join the Legion as well. Esther found it extremely odd that her mother did not interfere;
she had always been strongly against her husband joining the ranks, and would never have allowed her daughter to do such a thing. However now she simply let her new husband take Esther with him to the Imperial City,
being content to stay at home by herself.
A few years earlier Esther had started suspecting there was something fishy about her step-father, and her suspicions never faded. Quite the opposite, in fact. After around two years in the Legion's ranks
one of Esther's very few friends brought up the suspect of Esther's step-father. He had been her commanding officer in the past, and once she found out he was related (through marriage) to Esther, she decided to share
some gossip with the younger woman. She told Esther that the man had turned oddly pale a few weeks after Esther's father's death (Esther's friend didn't know when he'd died, but Esther did and made the connection),
and had never given any explanation for the sudden change. They had just assumed it was a result of an experiment gone wrong (he liked to experiment with alchemy, and his experiments had a tendency to fail). Esther, however,
came to an entirely different conclusion... she had noticed over the years that her step-father avoided being outside during daytime, especially on clear, sunny days. As she combined this observation with the information
she received from her friend (she had always assumed her step-father just happened to be a bit on the pale side), her first thought was: "He's a vampire! Mother doesn't really love him; he's just seducted her."
It made sense, and also explained why her mother was still completely infatuated with him, after several years.
Having made such a conclusion, Esther couldn't help wondering whether she and/or her mother had been fed on in their sleep... and if so, how many times. She decided then and there that she would find out whether she was correct.

The next time both Esther and her step-father were at home she took action by staying awake all night. There was only one wall between their rooms, so she was able to determine when her mother fell asleep (she snored).
Esther slipped out of bed and quietly made her way to the corridor. She stopped behind the door of her mother's room (which was shared by her step-father) and pressed her right (better) eye against the keyhole. For five or ten
minutes she stood there, starting to feel rather stupid... but then her step-father suddenly sat up in the bed, and - to Esther's utter horror - fed on the woman sleeping next to him.

Esther had to act. She had no choice, now that she knew her step-father was indeed a vampire. But how would she get rid of him? There was no way she would be able to take him on, not by herself.

In the end she decided to go to the Legion for help. She managed to find her commanding officer (who was none too pleased to be bothered during a holiday), and told him what she had found out about her step-father and a fairly
high-ranker commander. She couldn't believe her ears when her story was considered an attempt to ruin another's career.

"But I saw him feeding on my mother!" she insisted several times - to no avail. Her commanding officer only seemed to get less and less happy with her, eventually getting angry enough that he (rather forcibly) told her to leave
him alone. At that point Esther was sick and tired of the entire subject. and decided to simply leave her mother and "job" behind. She was not dealing with that vampire anymore.

The next two years she spent wandering around the province, for the most part staying away from cities (one does not simply leave the Legion without some consequences). It was a hard but enjoyable life, and Esther, while
feeling guilty for leaving her mother to be a vampire's plaything, did not regret her choice to run away.

During her time as a wanderer, Esther came across a small group of other wanderers. They were happy to let her join up with them, and taught her all kinds of things about surviving in the wilds. One of them also showed her how
to pay the lute. In return, she shared her knowledge and skills regarding combat, as the others were none too skilled in battle (their survival relied heavily on stealth and various kinds of tricks).

Esther and the group split apart when she got the idea to head north, to Skyrim. She couldn't remember anything from her life there (since her family had moved to Cyrodiil when she was three), and wanted to see her (ancestral)
homeland. She had heard about the political instability that plagued Skyrim, and was intrigued by it. Throughout her wandering she'd become more and more unhappy and even angry with the Legion; she'd been forced to join, called
a liar when she tried to get help ti deal with a vampire and last but not least constantly hunted after she decided to leave her soldier's life behind.

Another rumour she'd heard regarding Skyrim was that there were werewolves there. And vampires, unsurprisingly. She hated vampires (for obvious reasons) and had never seen a werewolf, but based on what she'd read and heard,
she found them terrifying and was by no means willing to come across one. Luckily for her, they only hunted at night (that's what all the books and stories said, anyway).

The one thing Esther had feared since her childhood were spiders, which weren't all that common in Cyrodiil, but Skyrim was said to be infested with the creatures. The reason Esther was so terrified of spiders was their appearance;
eight legs, too many eyes, and those pincers... not to mention they were poisonous, and could drop down from trees without being noticed until it was too late. The sounds they made also creeped her out.

The backstory is not complete; the rest is not written down anywhere (because I came up with that part after chargen, and chose my start accordingly).
Regarding dragons; Esther does not actively seek them out, but rather avoids them whenever she can, out of a mixture of fear and respect. Mirmulnir will have to wait till level 20+; there are more than enough dragons around even without random attacks. Besides, I'm honestly afraid of those random attacks, because the dragons tend to be Enhanced Mighty ones. :D

Race: Nord
Age: Oh, you do not want to know...

I'm trying to write a story where a character finds himself in a similar situation, so I am trying to plop him into the Elder Scrolls universe and see how he handles things there... Basically, Alduin wasn't the only one caught in the Time Wound when the Elder Scroll was used against him. An ancient Nord (I'm not yet certain if he was Dragon Cult or a Tongue) at the battle got pulled through time along with Alduin. When the World Eater re-emerged in the Fourth Era, Ripven got tossed in as well. Now he finds himself in the future, with no idea what things are like except there's these Imperial fellows who don't seem to like the Ulfric Stormcloak Fan Club.

This may explain why Alduin shows up to Helgen (saying 'Hello' to an old acquaintance). And the reason Ripven doesn't know Dragonrend, even though he was there when it was first used? Rip is the first one to admit that he is, in his words, "...not the sharpest hammer in the shed".

Here are two new characters:

  1. Name: Irinwe
  2. Race: Altmer (High Elf)
  3. Skills: 2 handed, Light armor, Block, Smithing, Speech, Illusion
  4. Story: Irinwe was born in the Summerset Isle. She was shortly allowed to join the mysterious and currently defunct order of the Eagle. When the Aldmeri Dominion first formed in the recent Era, The knights and Irinwe were the first to join forces, hoping that their alliance led to a resurgence of influence for the Altmer in the Empire. When the Thalmor became more and more obsessed with getting rid of man, the Knights of the Eagle went to War with the Thalmor, with the Eagles losing all but Irinwe. Irinwe spent the next hundred years hiding in Valenwood. She ended up falling in love with a female Bosmer Alchemist, who returned the love. When the Thalmor came searching for her, her lover was killed in front of her. Despising the Dominion, Irinwe flew into a rage, slaughtering the soldiers, except for Ondolemar who escaped. She then fled to the Imperial city, and decided to live life as a mercenary. During her career, she met the Imperial crusader of Arkay, Alessia Marius. The two adventured together riding the land of bandits and other monsters. She slowly began to fall in love with Alessia and fled, fearing that the Thalmor would hunt her down. She decided to head further north, to the lands of the Nords, hoping that the Thalmor did not get their hooks into the hardy sons and daughters that live there.

  1. Name: Jervar (something or other, will edit when I come up with a good name)
  2. Race: Nord
  3. Skill: Sneak, Archery, One handed, Light armor, Smithing, Alchemy
  4. Backstory: Will come up with one later.

Woo, first post. Anyway, my current character is a burly Nord who looks like a bear and enjoys slitting throats!

-- Name: Galram Aegis-Arm
-- Race: Nord, of course!
-- Age: 25
--Character Type: Barbarian/Assassin Hybrid

Galram is a true son of Skyrim, but one who is feared more than respected. "Assassin, Daedra-worshipper, butcher of sleeping men." they say, comrades and enemies, as they spread word of his exploits in hushed whispers. If this monster is their hero of legend, gods help the Nords should they ever meet their villain.

Basically, Galram is a pelt-wearing brute, who alternates between skulking in the shadows and fighting sword and board, all wit a healthy dose of poison.

My build...

Spoiler:
-- 1 Handed(69): Armsman 3/5, Fighting Stance, Savage Strike, Great Critical Charge

-- Block (72): Shield Wall 1/5 and everything except Shield Charge

-- Light Armor (64): Agile Defender 3/5, Custom Fit, Unhindered

-- Sneak (88): Stealth 1/5 and everything except Shadow Warrior

-- Smithing (60): Steel Smithing, Dwarven, Arcane Blacksmith

-- Alchemy (59): Alchemist 2/5, Physician

--Lockpicking (54): Unperked

--Weapons: Mehrune's Razor, Nord Hero Axe/Sword, Targe of the Blooded

--Armor: Fur Armor, Predator's Grace muffled boots, Stormcloak Officer Helm and Gauntlets. (I'm pushing 300 Armor Rating). If I need magic protection, I switch to Savior's Hide/Shield of Ysgrammor. Combined with Lord Stone and shield perks, Dragon Priest are a joke.

-- Questlines: Dark Brotherhood, Stormcloaks, Companions, Thieve's Guild

-- Alignment: Chaotic, slightly evil.

Created a new character, Tiberius the Imperial. A bard build, jack of all trades master of none. He'll carry a simple sword and bow, like iron or steel. No armor, or if I do wear armor it'll be light and clothes like. He'll use sneak and Illusion mainly to avoid fights and rely more on his companions to do the fighting, but in a pinch he is capable of defending himself adequately. Speechcraft and a smooth tongue are of course his biggest assets.

His main goals are seeking adventure and story. He traveled to Skyrim from Cyrodiil because with the war up north he hoped to learn and find new incredible tales to hear and write. He's in general a good guy, but he's willing to break the law and get in with the "wrong" crowd for the sake of an adventure, but there are things he won't do like murder. He comes off as arrogant and brash, but is good hearted and will help people if he gets the chance. Though he is a bit of a chicken, his bravery shows through when it has too.

So far he just escaped Helgen and stayed the day and night in Riverwood, he is now leaving early in the morning the day after the attack on Helgen to go to Whiterun and alert the Jarl.

So far my plans are that looting will be minimal, he will scrounge up some gold and the like but he sticks with his low level weapons unless he finds a rare artifact, which he'll simply stash at his home.

I am also RPing that he needs to eat a couple times every day, and real food not like raw meat it needs to be cooked, and sleeping every night.

Name: Rossak, redguard. high level, magic specialist, havent played him for 8 months. Have killed the Ebony Warrior, finished mage's guild and the Hermamora Solstheim storylines, currently fighting the Stormcloak war

I went to my home on Solstheim to find it's original inhabitants are still there, and realised I was thinking of a different character who catually has refurbished Sarethi Manor lol

Since this character has been big into his black books, I am now RPing him as a hero who has lost his memory and is trying to piece things back together again. Obviously memory loss is a hazard of too much contact with Mora and the temptations of ressigning perks

I have been following leads through the thieve's guild as some of the active quests are in Riften (notably he 'awoke' in Riften in the sewers pub with people asking him how he was getting on with this or that. Although he is in some ways extremely powerful, he has to rely on magic to protect him rather than his health. So with any luck the Guild will show him a way to survive by wits and not by might, whilst he uses their network to piece together who he is/was

he has a surprising collection of items in his home in WHiterun, which leads him to suspect there is a lot he has forgotten

I'll just post one of the characters I'm currently running.

I haven't fleshed them out as much as my other characters but it's nice to put what's already established in writing.

General Info:
Hidden:
Name: Faora
Nickname(s)/Alias(es): Fa, Fae, Fara
Race: Redguard
Gender: Female
Religion: Yokudan Pantheon
Place of Birth: Elinhir, Hammerfell
Date of Birth: 22nd of Rain's Hand, 4E 176
Current Residence: None
Title(s): None
Major Skill(s): One-Handed, Light Armor
Minor Skill(s): None
Family:
Lhonar the Defiant (Redguard, father, alive)
Suliel Sword-Dancer (Redguard, mother, alive)

Basic premise of her journey in Skyrim:
Hidden:
She comes from a long-line of renowned swordmasters. During her studies into their traditions, she learns that some of her very distant ancestors were actual sword-singers.
Her fascination and deeper research into sword-singing later spilled over to magic as a whole.

Wishing to sate her thirst for arcane knowledge, she plans to go to the College of Winterhold. She knows her parents will not approve so she masks her true intention
by saying that she plans to seek opportunities to improve her swordsmanship in Skyrim by seeking worthy opponents there.

Suggestions are always welcome. :)

^Don't know much about sword-singing, but the lore page on UESP says:
Quote:
The greatest of the sword-singers were known as Ansei, or "Saints of the Sword" and formed their own training schools to pass on their skills. To become an Ansei of the first rank, a sword-singer had to demonstrate an ability to form the Shehai, a sword formed out of the singer's own spirit. Higher ranks were also possible. The study of the Shehai was known as "Shehai Shen She Ru", the Way of the Spirit Sword. When formed by a high-level Ansei, the Shehai was "an unstoppable weapon of great might" and made the singer capable of astonishing feats of swordsmanship.

(my emphasis)
So - bound sword + Elemental Fury shout, right?

Hmm, I thought of some variation of the bound sword spell when I tried to imagine sword-singing but I didn't think of incorporating other stuff like the shouts to it.

The main reason I did raise sword-singing in her premise is that its the main catalyst for her growing curiosity of magic and its different manifestations.

Whether or not she can actually perform the art at some point in the story is still up in the air. However, there is a possible mod that'll help simulate the sword-singing to some extent but her journey will take on a very different path (at least from what I planned so far).

You can always fiddle around with the Ghostblade. Getting this requires you to defeat a Necromancer's coven as well, so that could tie into a mage-related roleplay.

Baurus: Our job is to get the Emperor out of situations like this. Though I'll admit, things aren't going exactly to plan.

Casandra: At the moment, the deadliest weapon at my disposal is a goblin's head on a stick. I'd be worried if this was the plan.

Can't post pictures yet, but that is not stopping me from talking about my characters since I always have a hard time resisting that.
Still having some trouble phrasing this kind of stuff right in English, so I'm keeping it a bit short.

Name: Morgan
Race: Redguard
Gender: Female
Personality: Very honordriven, a hard worker and very revenge driven. Also not very subtle. Fun to go out drinking with, I assume. She's also pretty loyal and one of my very few characters not prone to steal everything that it not nailed or glued down.
Level: 20 something
Favorite skills: Onehanded, smithing and twohanded.
Backstory: Haven't really worked her backstory out yet. Oops.

Name: Adrian Brunfaire
Race: Breton
Gender: Male
Personality: Adrian is quite the pacifist. Generally a friendly is somewhat quiet person. And very curious when it comes to magic. He sometimes becomes a little too careless when exploring things, due to his enthusiasm. Because of that, it is not uncommon to see him stroll into a dungeon, only to come running out fifteen minutes later with more things chasing him than he could ever hope to take on.
Towards other people he's quite secretive when it comes to magic, knowing that many people dislike it. He kind of just keeps to himself in taverns. When at the College however, he loves having indepth conversations on his or other people's discoveries.
Level: 15, I think. Not sure :')
Favorite skills: Restoration, illusion, alchemy and enchanting
Backstory: Adrian does not have a very dramatic or interesting story. He's born in Cyrodiil, son of a farmer, large family, but left to pursue his dreams as a mage. He was quite lucky his parents have mostly the same easy going nature he has, or they'd probably not have let him go.

Name: Ranera Salas
Race: Dunmer
Gender: Female
Personality: Ranera is also not much of a talker, but not in same way as Adrian. She harbors the same dislike for Nords as many seem to have for her and does not really care what most of them have to say. She is also a mage, but has no qualms asking around about things if she wants information. Just because she doesn't really do much smalltalk, does not mean she is not assertive. She is.
She has quite a bit of an ego and a vast desire to become more powerful.
Level: 12
Favorite skills: Destruction, alchemy, Illusion and archery
Backstory: Born in Windhelm, got quite restless and went out to work on becoming a great mage, got in trouble while doing magical experiments on her own, hence the near execution, and has a growing desire to one day go to the land of her ancestors.
