I was wandering around Riften when I heard Aerin saying something like "what a pity". I looked to see what was going on and I saw him and Mjoll staring at the corpse of...one of the cultists from the beginning of Dragonborn. Apparently either Aerin is so compassionate that he mourns for the lives even of lunatics who barge into his town and try to murder people or he just really hates me and likes that the cultist wanted me dead. I helped him and Mjoll move on by dragging the body and throwing it into the river, and while I was trying to move it over the edge Asgeir Snow-Shod said "you want to talk to me?" Yes, clearly that's what my attempt to shove a corpse through the gap in the railing signifies.

Thank you for the appreciation!
I'd like to point out that the fox epic has been unfolding before the eyes of several of my characters. :P

These be the antics of my Nord MilkDrinkKiin Sveta and her battle companion Athis.
Based on actual in-game events: Athis kept saying his combat phrases on the most random occasions, like getting stuck in a rockslide and dropping onto a tree stump. He concluded by chasing a snow fox. :O
Sveta's attitude in the last panel but one is explained by the nature of their relationship; since I, the player, invested a lot of game gold into training One-Handed with Athis, I decided to go for the irritable-master-timid-apprentice gig. Naturally, she has a desperate crush on him, and he rather likes her two, but neither will admit it. Oh, and he calls her Scrib; it's the half-affectionate, half-derogatory nickname he's given her.

Ironically, I did something similar. I killed a chicken because I mess around a lot in games that are like Skyrim. I did not know of the bounty at the time, so I culled down Riverwood's population to about 6 people.
I looted and hid their bodies in the pushes by the blacksmith. They all hate me now.

So I use Riverwood when I need to fill soul gems now, since the guards seem to infinitely spawn there, and because I could probably kill everybody in the town if I wanted to.

The True Chosen
This is based on an actual in-game occurrence, as seen in the Flashback panel.
Yes, my feisty Orc thief is married to Drevis Neloren (thanks to the awesome console!). They have a whole soap-opera-esque backstory written for them, me being me... I personally find Drevis rather cute; the only thing that saddens me is that so very few people seem to be aware of his existence... But this comic isn't about Drevis - it's about the huge potential Runa Far-Shield seems to have. Image

I decided to complete the main story on a level 22~ Dunmer, different approaches;

I used Slow Time and tried to beat Nahkriin to the staff. I managed to get to the staff before him and block his way. Sadly I was wasting my time hitting activate when it was already open and lost the staff to him -_-

I used vampiric grip on Tsun and threw him over the bridge side... 'completed' appeared and I walked happily into the hall.

Alduin final match, I summoned Durnehviir to fight Alduin... I forgot that until after his time was up that I needed to Dragonrend him for damage to be taken...

I've been playing for years, but for some reason never bothered to register for the forums before today... Anyhow.

I'm playing Abigael, my level 79 nord. I'm with Neloth, that arrogant Dunmer, and we're headed into this Dwemer ruin to get a black book, when he pops off this line: "The last time I was here, I only explored a small part of the ruins. I was here alone then, and I find an assistant is absolutely essential for this kind of dirty, dangerous work."

I literally paused my game 'cause I was thinking, look, guy, I've got about 2, perhaps 3, peers on this entire continent depending on if Alduin could be considered a peer since he's a dragon (the other two are Hakon and Miraak) and you aren't one of them. I've got more experience clearing Dwemer ruins then you've got eating and if you weren't flagged essential I could kill you before you could say 'Help, help, I'm being oppressed!' So, shut your trap already.

I know this isn't the only instance of something like this in the game, but for some reason this guy's arrogance really set me on edge almost from the moment I met him.

See, that's an example of game mechanics screwing up the lore. Neloth is ancient, experienced, ridiculously powerful and the idea of some upstart adventurer (even if they are the Dragonborn) being able to flatten him easily is just silly. He's recognized as one of the strongest magic users in Morrowind, he should be able to melt your face off before you're done saying "shut your trap already". ;)

A fair point, and Neloth probably isn't the best example of arrogant PCs who have no reason to be arrogant that make my teeth itch, but it just happened last night. And, he did a fair job of clearing the reavers outside the dwemer ruin. He was tossing thunderbolts left and right until he'd blasted every single one of them into dust.

My only point is that one thing I wish Skyrim (and Oblivion for that matter) was some sort of reputation meter. Regardless of an NPC's level of expertise, you'd think they'd speak to the person who single-handedly permanently kills previously immortal dragons with at least some respect, instead of referring to me as their 'assistant.'

In Ironbind Barrow:

Spoiler:
Beem-Ja died immediately after finishing his mustache-twirling speech because a skeleton had been hitting him the whole time he'd been talking without him reacting. His hubris did him in.

One time I shot a guy with an arrow and he shot in the air and flipped at least five times before hitting the ground. Dovah don't play that.

Experienced my first Skyrim earthquake last night. East of Mount Anthor near the dead refugees. I had never explored that area before. The ground shook for several seconds and some boulders rolled down the mountain in my character's general direction.

Then my character got killed by a couple of mages hanging out on Mount Anthor. I wanted to see if she could defeat them using just a scimitar and her destruction and healing spells - no potions, no Sanguine Rose. She lost.

Went back to the autosave just before approaching the dead refugees. Re-approached the area and the earthquake and rockslide happened again.

Will have to take my other character up there sometime and see if the earthquake occurs for her, as I have noticed differences in the game-world between the two characters.

That might have just been a trap? There is a trap for boulders falling.

Yes it does, and no it's not, although they're usually confined to the Reach, and rare even there.

OT, I fought a dragon near Valtheim Towers today, and when the worm was dead and its soul absorbed one of the local bandits, after examining the skeleton, said "Whoever did this shall pay for it!" I wasn't aware that there are still believers in the Dragon Cult among Skyrim's contemporary outlaws.

No signs of a trap or anything else unusual - well, besides the dead refugees (hmmm... I wonder what killed them). No giants or mammoths in the area - and the ground shook more strongly than I have experienced around giants/mammoths. And no dragons, as I didn't advance the MQ that far (which is why there were mages at Mount Anthor).

Search the forums for "earthquakes" - apparently, there was a controversy about it a while back. I suspect that the forum mods would rather not see a controversy re-ignited in this thread, so I'm not going to say any more about it.

I got the same thing at that spot recently. It sounded like a boulder trap, but I didn't see any boulders. :| Unless that was due to my really low object fade.

Wow, I love those comics of Norroens XD I'm glad I'm not the only one that makes up backstories and little tales of my characters and their associates. I've been debating using the console for marriage, because I'm worried I will mess it up.

Also, I LOVED Neloth's attitude so much that he's actually the reason I decided to go back and play Morrowind! Just so I could see the original Neloth. I think even if he knows everything you've ever done in Skyrim, he would still talk to the dragonzborn that way. For some reason it makes me happy XD

Now to stay on-topic, I saw this in Riften. I do not know how he got here or how he's doing that.

Well, Kuni, I believe that he's a street performer, and that tankard is for you to place septims in as a reward and to show your appreciation of his performance. I'd shout get a real job at him, but his uniform seems to imply he has one :/

I just thought this was kind of touching.

So a while back my Character #2 found Balbus dead on the road east of Whiterun. Poor guy, he seemed like a decent enough fellow. She took his fork to remember him by. Also, she needed a fork.

Passing through the area again, she saw a couple of figures on the road ahead. It was M'aiq and Talsgar, keeling over Balbus' corpse, saddened at the fate of a fellow wanderer.

Today I met the first sensible bandit I've seen. It went like this: I was walking through Falkreath Hold's forests around midnight when I was surprised by a dragon. After a lengthy battle I killed it. When I stepped closer to absorb its soul I wondered why the battle music still played. Then I heard the swish of an arrow and got hit. Turned out I was surrounded by two bandit chiefs and two bandit plunderers. I made short work of the chiefs and one of the plunderers with a combination of Unrelenting Force and an ebony war axe. The last plunderer hadn't joined the fray and when I rushed towards him he cried "The victory is yours!" and just ran away. The strange thing is that he had full health. Though, seeing how my character had infinitely superior armor and weapons, he did the wisest thing possible. I let the poor sod run.

Now I wonder, was this a glitch or does the AI sometimes recognize it's in a hopeless situation? (Or, if the combat-improving mod I use did this?)

@Nord, I think it's a random encounter, you get two bandit chiefs, and two generic bandits, the two chiefs and one mob attack, and the other hides straight away, sadly, it's not as intuitive of the A.I as you might have hoped for. Ah well, we can dream for TES:VI
