No, no and no. I guess this place is more obscure than I thought... or my way of thinking is so unique as to be useless.

*The "blades" line does NOT refer to Delphine/Esbern, or their predecessors, but literally metal blades.
*"Death's token" is ~something~ left after a person/creature dies.
*This place is in the base game, no DLC required.

I have one more clue to dole out in a few days and then I'm giving up.

Is it the Twilight Sepulcher?

is it Walking Nightmare? the place being vaermina's temple. skull of corruption is the unique item. the book forbidden legend can be found there and sometimes erandur just freezes. also the people there are stuck in their sleep.

is it Cidna mine?

Oops, I probably should have posted here that I was going on vacation. No one's got it yet, though Snail's Pace is the closest. In a way.

One last clue:

You go here as part of a quest, as I said before. This quest is part of a chain.

I was thinking Dawnstar Sanctuary, not so sure now.

Gah you're close, so close, but I can't say in what way. Keep guessing, everyone, and put the clues together with the "you're close" hints!

has anyone said Mzulft? or maybe it's the ruins you go to in the MQ, that i cant remember the name of?

There's another spinning blade trap there, and several other clues seem consistent with the place, but I'm not sure.

I would have to agree with the above post; would've guessed Raldbthar myself.
Here's an analysis:

I am held in endless night,
No idea about this line
Blades in the hallway,
Blade traps, as mentioned by Snail's Pace
Stay your hand until the time is right,
Alain Dufont; if you kill him and later start the related DB quest, you cannot receive the optional objective of that quest
Crouch and sneak away.
Related to the previous line? There's also a Sneak skill book in that room
Your defenses are broken,
A stretch, but doesn't Aegisbane belong to Clan Shatter-Shield (shattered shield = broken defense)? Windhelm guards are always talking about it.
Your path is blocked,
The dungeon has two drawbridges you need to lower...
Remove death's token,

Reference to the entrance to Blackreach?

The unique item found in Raldbthar would be Aegisbane, while the less unique one would most likely be the Sneak skill book "2920, Last Seed, v8" (the Wiki lists four locations for it, so it would fit). Or maybe one of the four Aetherium Shards... although I have no idea how any of the lines could possibly refer to the shards.

If the answer is Raldbthar, I would like to pass my turn to Chadonraz, for that excellent analysis.

I suppose it's true what they say; you learn something new every day. It didn't even occur to me that the name of the weapon (well, the 'aegis' part) might actually mean something.
Although come to think of it, I have in fact come across at least one shield that has 'aegis' in its name during my adventures.

Anyway, time for the next riddle I suppose. Really appreciate the gesture, Snail's Pace!
