I assume it's gifted to someone, probably the player, by a ghost. The first two... Something exploded, and then the item fell down? Or balances on something, I suppose.
I'm tempted by Katria's Journal, but I don't really have any guesses.

now that i think about it, isnt that some kind of god of lightning or something ?
and the rest fits i think, Katria failed in her quest and fell to her death, you get the both by balancing on a bit of wood, and she(a ghost) lets you have it as a sort of gift. :P

EDIT: Ah wait ... Zephyrus is the god of the west wind, and not lightning :P

I am perfectly aware of that, as is any primary school kid. :wink:
You might notice that in the rebus there is the word 'as' next to the picture of a lightning. Which implies the bow's main characteristic - its high draw speed - through an idiom, 'fast as lightning'. :wink:
