Now that Dawnguard has come out I'm creating the character that I wanted to do for a long time. I'm going for a ranger type.

Race: Nord female
Factions: Companions, Stormcloaks and Dawnguard.
Skills: Heavy Armour (prefer the look and I can't mod)
Archery (will have crossbow)
One-handed (Dual wielding swords)
Sneak (for surprised shots then would charge in)
Alteration (for detect life)

That's all I got so far, would like suggestions if anyone has any.

The Blades armour looks great on females. What sort of suggestions are you looking for?

Name: Briggs
Race: Nord
Class: Thief
He specializes in Archery and One Handed. He wears light armor, and is a master at sneaking. Also he's a werewolf.

Name: Raptor Jesus
Race: Argonian
Class: Mage
My second is an Argonian mage named Raptor Jesus. He is actually the second coming of Raptor Jesus since I first made him in Oblivion and I like to pretend he was reincarnated in Skyrim. Too bad you can't make spells or walk on water anymore...I coulda made the Velocirapture spell like I did in Oblivion.

I'm more stuck on the skill side of things as I got her backstory and personality down. I want a ranger/warrior character, just not sure if mixing Sneak and Heavy Armour is a good idea as I hate the high end light armours. I just need skill ideas really

Sneaking with Heavy Armor isnt too hard if you have th right perks. It will be hard at first though.

I usually hate answers like this, seeing as how everyone is free to build their character however they want, (and honestly, there really isn't a right or wrong way to play,) but: a heavy armour ranger? That just seems a bit...odd. By all means, give it a try. If you're hung up on labels though, you may want to invent a new name for this class of character. Hranger, perhaps, condensed from heavy ranger? It also looks and sounds Nordic.

I get where you coming from. I was from the start was going with light armour but I prefer some of the unique heavy armour sets like the Blades set. All the skills are coming from my ranger mindset but I should rethink it. I might take Sneak out and go for a warrior type or just do the smart thing and go with Light Armour like I should have done. I like the name idea though!

EDIT: After doing some research I have decided to go with Light armour since I have found unique sets that I would like to use and I will just upgrade them to get better protection. The perks are better and I think it would be a mistake to use Heavy Armour for this type of build.

You can use any armor you want. It is your build, dont let people talk you out of it.

I looked through loads of threads on this site and others, Light Armour seems to be more in tune with what I want with this character. I need speed more than protection and plenty of Stamina as well for duel wielding. I know the Steed Stone can get rid of the weight issue but I would rather use another stone.

Here's my character which I hope to start tomorrow:

Female Nord Ranger (No name yet)
Factions: Stormcloaks, Companions and Dawnguard.

Skills: One Handed, Archery, Sneak, Light Armour, Alternation, Smithing and Alchemy.

I have also created a backstory which I have never done before and it was quite fun to do.

I decided to make a meme dedicated to one of my numerous Dovahkiins, Ezio Valtieri.
He is one of the first Skyrim characters I ever made, and I feel that I have been ignoring him lately. So, here he is!
There are a few references to a fan fiction I was once writing about my Oblivion character, who is Ezio's mother - but I still hope that the rest of the humour is gettable. :P

I guess it's time I share my current character

Race: Male, Khajiit
Name: Vitus
Factions: As of now Companions, and once I'm leveled up I'll be joining the Imperial Legion.
Skills: With this character I'm putting most of my perks in smithing, heavy armor and one handed weapon. My fighting still is dual wielding swordsman, which I love.

Name: Olquaril Aundae
Race: High Elf
Factions: CoW, maybe DB
Spoiler:
Volikhar Vampires

Skills: Novice-Master on all magic skills, Enchanting, Alchemy

Not much of a backstory yet other than he is one of the last surviving members of Clan Aundae, and is pro-Thalmor. Wears a complete Thalmor outfit as well

Thank you for the appreciation! :)
And regarding the name - according to my roleplay, this character is the son of my Oblivion character (a female Dunmer) and Vicente Valtieri. Since the latter has a name that sounds vaguely Italian, in contrast with most Bretons, who have French-sounding names, I decided that it's only too proper that his offspring have a name of a similar category. It just so happens that I have a female acquaintance whose father is an Italian, and his name is Ezio. So there.

Arokel

Race: Male Bosmer
Factions: Companions, Thieve's Guild, Dark Brotherhood (formerly), Dawnguard
Skills: Archery
One Handed
Light Armor
Sneak
Restoration

Arokel was born into a powerful family in southern Valenwood. What he did not know was that his uncle was a former blade. His uncle had assumed that his family's position would protect both them and him from any Thalmor reprisal. He was wrong. The Thalmor wiped out Arokel's family in one their frequent purges. Arokel barely escaped and fled north. Over the course of five years he moved from place to place, keeping one step ahead of the Thalmor, until he finally crossed the border into Skyrim. It was there that the Thalmor caught up to him. It was after Helgen that Arokel realized he couldn't run anymore. It was time to take the fight to the Thalmor.

(Let me know what you think of the back story and if I can improve it :D )

Haha. It is cool that you put a story why he has a name. Most people would just name them that because it sounds cool.

He has a name because his parents were kind enough to give him one. Image

I wish I had the mindset to have more than 2 characters. My focus to get them really good only stretches so far. I think its neat other people have a handful of characters.

I think I will post my character's backstory since everyone does.

General Info: Horski, Nord female, will be part of Stormcloaks, Dawnguard and Companions. Skill set of a explorer/ranger.

Horski was born to a Nord family along the Cyrodiil/Hammerfell Border who had left their homeland Skyrim a century before for unknown reasons. Her mother died shortly after her birth and was raised alone by her father who was a blacksmith. Horski was taught to be self-reliant and learned how to smith from an early age. She learned many forms of combat but her talent was with daggers, Horksi did not have the body strength to wear heavy armour so her father had the local chapel teach his daughter Alteration to keep her safe from harm.
When she was 15 Horski's father was killed during a Thalmor raid where an old family heirloom of Talos was found in their home but she managed to escape. Since then she has wandered and offered herself as an explorer/bodyguard across Cyrodiil while staying away from the Thalmor. After a near-death experience, Horski decided to go see her family's homeland and leave behind Cyrodiil for good...

I'm not good at writing thing like that and it sounds a bit rubbish but that's the best I got.

Name: Fargoth
Race: Wood Elf
Class: Nightblade
Skills: One-Handed, Illusion, Sneak, Light Armor, Alchemy and Lockpicking

For many years Fargoth lived in Seyda Neen, getting roughed up and robbed over and over by the Imperial guards in town. One day he snapped and killed them all and got his ring back. For years he hunted down all who slighted him. After a while the Morag Tong sent assassins of their own for his "freelancing", so he killed them too. He then fled to the mainland where he used the Oblivion crisis to mask his killings, making them look like they were done by daedra. When the war broke out the Thalmor hired him to kill VIP's within the Empire, one of the VIP's turned out to be a vampire and Fargoth was infected in the fight. He accepted his new power and used it to his fullest advantage. When the war ended, Fargoth was ordered to the skyrim border, where the Thalmor betrayed him and striped him of his vampirism claiming he was of no further use and was left to die in the snow. Weakened from such a crude vampirism cure, he wandered into an Imperial patrol......

Not a very good story, just made it off the top of my head. Beware of FARGOTH! He kills everyone who slights him regardless of quest losses and such. Pity Nazeem!
